There's too many posts asking "why no abandoned tag"

There's too many posts bitching about the long delay.

I'm making this post to refocus everyone on what's really important........

It will depend a lot on how much stuff you want to get aside from leveling the girls, e. g. catching legendary fishes (matter of taste) or unlocking the Jimmy headpat (strongly recommended). I am bad at judging playtime but for all intents and purposes it already has the volume of some finished games and easily goes into the double digits.
Open game console and run renpy.get_game_runtime() / 3600.0. This will return the number of hours spent ingame.

For sake of reference, I spent about 14 hours, Komisari made an estimation of 8~10 hours, and well, some will take more or less depending on optional content they are willing to do.

Hero's Harem Guild is meant to be a game with roughly 50/60 hours of STORY content (And I believe that's too freaking much and I will try to lower it down), divided into 4 or 5 chapters of 8/10 hours each, counting the prologue. So, this requires a lot of advance planning to meet the desired hours and show to the players the story I want to tell in that "deadline" of hours.
I belive that most players gets tired of clicking during 50/60 hours and seeing only dialogues and images, that's why the gameplay and free or sandbox elements have a big role BETWEEN the story events. It makes the player do different stuff during the game, and not getting burned by millions of images and dialogues every time.

In short, both the GAMEPLAY and the STORY/EVENTS requires a lot of anticipation and they need A LOT OF WORK to have the best possible quality in the 50/60 hrs of game.
(And if you assume he'll hit his goal, taking a year and half for 10 hours of playable content should still be within the "reasonable"; I believe most games do at most 45 minutes per month, although this likely varies a LOT anyway and is not worth tracking)

I am at 22 hours (rounded) right now.

If the update is as big as the dev says (which I have no reason to doubt) then I suspect none of those patrons will feel "milked" when it comes out. The fact that they still have so many patrons is a testament to how trusted the dev is by their supporters. I imagine they've done something to earn that.

Komisari just has keep up and increase traction/momentum after essentially remaking and expanded the early game over the past year and a half. That's not even including the rest of the game that still has to be made and hopefully kept to the same level of polish. Long waits after long waits with fluctuating quality is how community good will is undone, and it's been seen time and time again, which is a lot of stress.
Though with a 70,000-90,000 yearly income (not taking into account the patreon tax, or government taxes,) putting out good updates and at a decent click shouldn't be much to worry about given everything else should be taken care of. That's really damn good for a game that doesn't require timely and costly custom made assets, rigs, skeletons, or workflow databases. It's been a while since I last played and I might be wrong about there not being any custom songs, but music and sound effect libraries are also pretty expensive to make, so chalk that up there too.

There's worse milkers and non-milkers out there though. The two biggest ones here are more than triple that number and don't even try to promise half as much content, let alone showing even a bit of progress.

Talking about animation and assets and etc; I said a couple of times that HHG support exceeded my expectations, that's why I wanted to exceed the expectations of people and take this game not as a typical "Koikatsu game", but as a real game when it comes to developing it. (I understand this is not a unity game or something like that, but I'm trying to add my own stuff and I try to have more... "control" on the content I add.)

But, for example, in Chapter 1 there are ONLY custom sex animations and animations. No Koikatsu self-animated stuff.

In a normal job, you get a deadline but ONLY ONE JOB. Hey, we need this pack of animations before x. Hey, we need this system working before x. Hey, we need these characters model done before x. You, having experience in those areas, have a perfect idea of how much an animation will take for you to make, depending on the complexity.

But believe me, nobody would have a deadline for a; "Hey, make a game." (And when they do, they have different people on different areas.)

I'm new at animation, I'm new at 3D stuff, I'm new at environment design and etc. I'm trying my best to make the best quality possible and learn as fast as possible to try to make this update as good as possible and as fast as possible. Do I have an idea how much it will gonna take? No. Nobody has an idea. There are days when I say; "Okay, In this part of the game is a little bit laggy, I have to optimize this" and takes me 3 complete days. Or just "Okay, I'm gonna make this epic cool event I wanna make, It'll take me 1 or 2 days" and it takes an entire week. And I'm not even counting animations, those mf are the most difficult to make xD, but I'm learning so it's taking less and less time every time.

The update will go out as soon as possible but will do it whenever it's ready. There's no other way to say it, and of course, I would like to post the update right now, but it's not done, there's nothing I can do against that... but work on it.

You would think this post would make me more desperate for the update (which it has) but mostly it has made me more accepting of the wait because HOLY SHIT THAT LOOKS AMAZING! :love: :love:

When "Star Wars" came out, it was amazing. We had to wait 3 years for the sequel and it was.....good. We then had to wait 3 more years for the third film which was ....... ok. We then had to wait 16 years for a big steaming pile of horse poo.

HHG, on the other hand looks like it's just going to keep better and better.

I've had to wait for shit, I'll wait for quality....and Lucy....:love:

The "huge" map is a zone of the game where there are a lot of events. I decided to make the map as big as you see it because there has to be a connection between them. For example, I want scenes on the cliff for the camera to be able to see the forest below it. It's not about "huge because hugga bugga huge = better", but for immersion, both for the story, the event, and the world. There are events where a couple of characters are on the cliff and others below, I want the characters on the cliff to be able to see the other characters below. It's not that difficult to understand, the map it's done with a plan behind it, not just because I wanted to make it huge. There's a couple of extra maps done by myself that are just small rooms, zones, etc.

Everything I posted takes a lot of time and work and was planned and prepared forehead to meet a quality standard. There are millions of other games out there that adds up to 5000 images/renders and slaps a PDF with text in the game, posting an update per week.

The last time I used a roadmap was in v0.1.2, and I had to delay the update a couple of weeks to end some events and add some stuff, that, by the way, they had poor quality because I was in a hurry.

I'm trying hard for people to stop entitling my game as a " this is a porn game, fast money" and see it as an actual game, that's why I'm adding actual gameplay and trying to add a decent story. If you think you can do a porn game for easy money, go on. You'll probably make some bucks. But again, if you think HHG is only a "porn game" with only "porn scenes", then 1. You didn't play the game or 2. You're just trying to be mean on purpose, trolling, or something. xD

I already said it a couple of times, but, my actual goal is to make HHG one of the best H games out there that takes itself seriously, like a real game, and I'm going to take all the time in the world to at least get close to my goal <3

Damn, that looks amazing. I've always thought that the Koikatsu models have very cute feet, though I'm not usually into footjobs. That looks very nice though. Is that a custom skeleton as well as custom animation?
It's the normal Koikatsu skeleton, the toes and feet bone movement are accessible via... not normal ways xD
But yes, it's a custom animation 100% done by me uwu

What's with the 1.5 years I keep seeing. I distinctly remember the halloween update being late which would put us at 2 or 3 months over a year. That's not half.

Theoretically speaking, would custom animations make it possible for vaginal sex with the demoness in her current size? I only ask because another Koikatsu game attempted such a thing with a fairy girl but the animation just looked like the penis was phasing into the space between her vagina and anus. (presumably because the baseline program didn't know what to do with that size difference)

YES! It's definitely possible! Playing with the belly scale and reducing (making invisible) the top part of the penis when it enters the vagina it's completely possible. With some polish, it would look really good.

But... I won't add Demoness sex scenes while she's in fairy form. Personally, I prefer to avoid that.

Lol, although maybe an accidental, one time, morning wood event where she lands on it wondering what it is and touching it through the sheets and then gets mildly splashed and starts freaking out when something smelly and sticky is on her hands and feet, and then the MC wakes up, and she instinctively slaps him and fly away.

We already know who Elizabeth and Ari are to the MC. By extension it is pretty obvious who the other family members are too. So this IC patch, why didn't the creator of it, change the relationships and the NAMES of certain individuals in this case just the mom and aunts? This would apply to both the mc and his sister. Son calls his mom Elizabeth when in fact he should be calling her mom all of the time since that is what she is to him. I wish I knew how to make these patches and use the right code, its frustrating as hell at times.
