The term "update" is used ambiguously here but yes, the dev talked about a christmas special (while the "100% this year" from the posts above yours were talking about the "chapter 1" update).

No Chapter 1 (v0.1.3) and no Christmas/New Year special none of them have an ETA.
I believe the game may be going into development hell, after what they've been talking about on the game discord.
Komisari not only has complaints here, but also on discord.

I know this is likely to make Komisari unhappy, but it made me laugh a lot. It must be fun to chat to that person.
But don't take it personally for posting this here Komisari, he it just made me laugh a little.

Because that was the only timeline he would give after dodging releasing 1.3, deciding to combine it with 1.4 that was "almost done", and then saying he would release the chapter as a whole.
I'm looking forward to the inevitable "remastered" release where he just removes content and and slowly adds them back to say he's releasing consistent updates.

It's a lot better for them to just straight up not say any estimated date if they can't deliver it in the first place as it just disappoints those who are actually expecting for one.

It's not that hard to just say:
"It comes out when it comes out."
Rather than:
"It comes out at -insert date here-"

It's not just porn games that have this trend, lotsa modern games too.

Without wanting to declare one approach as right and the other as wrong, but what do you think of the "inverted" approach, meaning that I moderate my own expectations according to my experiences and do not take any ETA searious, having seen them being missed by quite a lot of devs.
My expectations are the part where I have direct control in contrast to the release of the game which I have limited to no control over. Adapting my expectations is guaranteed to work (if a have a minimum of self control) whereas relying on ETAs gives you a bad time as is indicated by a lot of posts in various threads in this forum.

And then the other posts were explaining how literally I decided to expand the update, and, how before the story was really simple and the events were not that good, so decided to go somewhere else, while also, increasing the quality of the previous events.

If you take what I said 2 years ago; I said that I was going to update the game once per 3 months. Then I changed and always explained people in every Patreon post.
If you go back 2 years before and use what I said in that time and ignore everything after that, then, you are having a problem xD

Also, please, in a couple of days take your time to play the incredibly delayed Christmas update! I would like to hear your opinion about it.
I'm also eager to see the incredible opinion you will drop here whenever I announce something else, after the Christmas thingy.

I'm not a professional developer, I didn't even have a programming job in my life or something, I make mistakes and I will learn from them, it's funny because you want or not, you write or not, HHG will update, give me a break. ♥

No, that's the Christmas Update, check Twitter or something, I decided to do a Christmas event before v0.1.3, and, again, didn't calculate the time, and is delayed xD
