dude the next update is the Christmas event, not chapter 1 XD
Wait, WHAT?! I thought that had been shelved as a bad idea due to the deadline for the holidays being clearly missed! What is this useless Christmas event good for, when everyone's waiting for 0.1.3? Not sure if that's indeed true, but if so, I'm really disappointed in Komi, maybe for the very first time.

update development 1.3 (chapter 1) stopped in october to make christmas event, after that 1.3 development will continue
even if the next update is called 1.3 (it is supposed to be the xmas event)
so chapter 1 would be something like 1.4 or I don't know XD

I'm definitely not shocked, just disappointed. I didn't have my hopes up whatsoever but it's clear as day that Komi's got a real problem with perfectionism, feature creep, and an inability to prioritise. This just reeks of poor management on their side. I want this game to succeed but unless they start considering project management, it will never get better, even after this next release.

And the longer we're made to wait, the higher the expectations will rise. It'll become more and more difficult for Komi to meet those expectations the longer they continue to tweak and add, instead of establishing a firm event cutoff.
Dont forget his procrastination. He said so himself that he had family being sick, but also procrastinated. That last part I really dont get. If you have a big update which you delay in favor for a smaller seasonal one, then cannot finish that in time for the actual season or festivity, and then have to delay it again because you procrastinate...??? I mean...

Been saying it for a good year now but I'm glad more and more people are seeing this game & developer for what they are.
Unironically, the game is, in my opinion pretty good and would 100% warrant me coming back to see it on every update, but with a developer like Komi behind it, there's just no way it'll be done this year. It'll be the same excuses over and over again and nothing will be done.
But hey, enjoy the teasers he releases every 4 months. See? Progress.

My supportive/constructive and totally optimistic post from over a year ago on 22nd of January 2022 aged exceptionally poorly. Any and all of criticism of the development of this game by the community at this point is totally earned, sadly. I even got a stable relationship as well since my post which greatly decreased my consumption of porn games so I'm not thirsting that much for new content anymore, but I always check in to read the most recent shitpost/drama/excuse here, especially our beloved cactus' posts, always brightens my day a bit. Now I'm actually afraid that an update will drop eventually and the thread will be just boring bug reports and actual discussion of the game, yawn.

I like the game and have defended it multiple times, but if there's one thing I can't stand it's when release dates keep being given and not reached. Komi would be doing everyone (including themselves) a favor by not giving out any more until they can literally hit the launch button. A Christmas update in march is already not exciting, and if you're like me, you're going to skip it anyway because I'm not about to ruin literal years of waiting for just a holiday event.

I hate being jerked around by release dates man. It's like my biggest pet peeve on this site.

Don't be such a drama queen... he only gave 2 release dates so far, the Christmas one and by end of February, he broke the Christmas one, and simply asked for a few more days for the February date... most of the games on here are updated like that. You are crying about it like he didn't just ask for a few more days but broke into your house and killed your dog. Chill, just check back around mid-March and see what's what. There is no point in crying about every hiccup he makes at this point.

So many people are just posting here to vent their frustration non-stop, but it's really pointless, get yourselves together... He already knows he messed up, he said he messed up, continously dumping on him now isn't doing anything useful. He said he is trying to remedy the situation so give him a change to do so. Give him to mid-March and see what happens. At least now there is a solid date to work around, unlike before where the dev refused to set any release date. If he needs a week or 2 more, that doesn't really change much for people on here. I don't think there is a single dev on this forum who hasn't broken a deadline and then pushed back a release date... for about 70% of the devs on here it's their routine with each update if there ever even is one.

Don't forget the whole "It (chapter 1) will definitely be released in 2022".

It's not just about missing a release window. It's about missing a release window, so starting a minor project, missing that release window by 'bout a quarter of a year, and then announcing another delay.

I think that adds to it.

Curious to see that if the update comes out Ill still feel its been worth the wait

We got a date for something nobody asked for. Acknowledgeing the holiday event failure by suspending it would have been remedying the situation, not doubling down on it. A non canon event like that could have been moved to next Christmas and no one would have noticed or cared.

I wouldn't call having valid criticism being a drama queen, but keep exaggerating I guess. That was probably my first somewhat negative post about the game lol. It's very simple: if you can't hit release dates then do not give them. First it was the big update for 2022, then the Christmas updated scheduled for Christmas/January, then "100%" in February, and now it's March. The problem is that release dates given by the dev have literally zero meaning as there is now a track record of them not getting reached.

Again I like the game and I like Komi, my only problem is what is now this pattern of giving and missing release dates. Do a lot of other games do this? Yes, and it's equally annoying. There are also plenty of devs who can hit release dates, or know when not to give them. I wouldn't be commenting about this in the first place if all we've been told was "it's ready when it's ready." I'd even prefer that.
