Few thing are as disappointing on this site as finding something that looks good and promising, only to discover it's yet another patron milking scam.

According to him, he tried...but knowing that Komi is a compulsive liar it is understandable that it didn't lead to anything, the guy can't even give a good excuse, according to him "no one met his art standards" forgetting that he can hire a writer or programmers to do faster what according to him he is not good at, what makes me laugh is that none of his fans came to this conclusion, that already says a lot about the intellectual level of each of them.
Maybe it's because the game will only have 2 hours of gameplay because Komi started development on chapter 1 in 2023 and the previous 2 years were just pure lies? Years ago no one would believe this but today many have changed their minds.

That's what he said, according to him, he interviewed a few Koikatsu artists and none of them met his expectations and that's why he didn't hire anyone... I told him why not just hire programmers or writers. He didn't answer me, who blames him? Those types of people always try to avoid those who show a little common sense,

HHG is NOT Abandoned.
Not only that, but no, I've not seen any Koikatsu artist who would meet my standards. I make 100 renders in only an event, with multiple expressions that have to go very well with the dialogue, which is really difficult to do with multiple people. Sometimes, more doesn't mean faster. A Koikatsu artist who is 3 hours doing only one render is not good for me. Most Koikatsu artists also create a background with 3 objects and make the render look good by adding tons of glowing zones and tons of shadows that are positioned to the camera. And I just need someone who can make the render look good without adding all those effects because I have to make it fast.
That's why I work too much on backgrounds and environments.
How do I tell a guy that I want to make this? It's like four renders. You see the render, and it's not that impressive, but it has many renders before and after that are connected to achieve a specific and desired effect. How do I sit down with someone and explain exactly what I want? I prefer to do it myself. The same goes for the dialogue. More doesn't mean faster.
Don't misunderstand me, there are KK artists who can make amazing renders that I would never be able to achieve. But I need something specific, and it's not worth my time.
Okay then... A programmer? So I would have to sit down and explain all the game's system to a guy and tell him that I want exactly this;

In RENPY, btw. Also, I love coding and making these kinds of things, so I prefer to do it myself to learn. Another thing would be if this game were made in Unity or some 3D engine, where there are lots of amazing people who could significantly improve the speed of development in other areas that I have NO knowledge of, and I'm not ready to start learning them.
And I don't even want to start with writers and dialogue. I refuse to sit down and explain the whole story and context of all characters to someone just to write how I would like.
The only thing I could get help with is animations, but I prefer to do them myself, too. I'm not bad at it.
So, I only get help in music, sounds, or commissioning things like drawings for items or H-sounds and voices for H-scenes.
To anyone out there reading this post who is not a troll, anyone who still has hope for this game, or anyone who has lost it but it's curious about how this is going: When I released HHG, I received an incredible amount of support, lots of people loved the game, so I wanted to make something even greater. I created a story, practiced animations (So I don't use KK stock animations), and even saw an infinity of videos about cinema, compositions, dialogue, etc, so I could make a better product. The reason I said CHP1 was almost done but decided to just kinda rework it is because I was not happy with it, and it was the best decision I could have made.

Of course, I accept complaining about the delays and the amount of time it takes. I'm aware of it. It's totally understandable for someone to be angry because of the slow development time.

I decided to make HHG an even greater game, and that was a kinda rough path of reworking a lot, ditching a lot of content, practicing, learning a lot, making horrible mistakes, and making really novice decisions.
And hey, maybe this comes out, and it's a total failure; why not?
But HHG is not abandoned
So, please, just please... Go bother someone else. Go play all those amazing games that don't have delays or slow developments.

Again, you are talking about hired person who is doing what he told. This dev is crazy enough to invest his time into a porn game. And because he was lucky, he made something good. Many similar projects just failed. There was no guaranties right from the start. Stop treating artists as a hired workers. Even if you pay him, there is no agreement or contract. If you want guaranties, pay or support developers who finished their project.
Also I'm sure that there will be next update. People won't support him forever. After a year or two Komisari had to release it. Otherwise he will lose his gold "cow". It's a dream job when you compare it to other jobs in real life. He already used to work on his own terms and any other job would be a nightmare.
The one thing I gathered from that wall of text is that you are a terrible manager and even worse at setting priorities, putting way more emphasis on the fluff over core things. You know what was one of the main things that infuriated my during my play? The myriad of slow transitions literally everywhere, on every screen and every menu, but apparently, that's super important and can't be explained to a different programmer.
And I really love how anyone that's critical of a developer is always a "troll" and everyone should go to the dev discord, where any dissent can be immediately crushed and buried by moderators.
And this is why WEGs that are beholden to patreon and other monthly based sites will never produce anything even remotely close to the level of Rance, Kamidori, winter/summer memories or even Bible Black. No one want to give you a product, they want to fleece you for as long as they can.

You are talking about Japan where creating hentai games is socially acceptable. And you are talking about games that are made by small companies. They had serious approach with management.
Not a taboo =/= socially acceptable. The fact that sex isn't seen as such an issue there as it is in the USA does not mean it's acceptable or not frowned upon.
DLsite has plenty games made by one guy or tiny teams, but that's irrelevant to the point in the first place. Those "companies" appeared because they wanted to create and sell a product, and they did. Subscription sites are antithetical to that approach because delivering a product is against the developers interest, as keeping it in development hell is a much more profitable endeavor, and there are dozens of examples of this on this site, this game included.

But seriously Komi, I hope you're doing ok. As a heads up, the game's gonna get the abandoned tag in about 7 months from now unless you update. Are there plans for another holiday special or do you think you'll try charging into the big update full on?

Alright. I've been believing you and this certainly ain't gonna change that. I totally believe that you're doing shit-tons of work and that you have quality expectations well beyond the standards (and in some cases I think, capabilities) of the medium you're using.
However, I'll say this: You've committed to Early Access at this point, and for years kept up a release schedule pretty consistent with Early Access. So when you go mostly dark without any sort of updates, people get mad antsy, and start hypothesizing about why. Most of the hypotheses are going to be pretty negative, because that's how people in general work, and also because people on here in particular are cynical, jaded scumbags who've been bitten enough that they're happy to reject reality in favor of a bitter, protective heart-shell of a delusion.
What I think you should do is cut yourself off ASAP, and release what you've got, even if it's not entirely what you wanted to show people. It's called Patreon for a reason after all - patrons of ye olde times would come look at the work being done and right now you're not showing anything. I believe that the work is being done, but you've gotta produce results soon, something tangible we can play with one hand- er, touch with our hands?
Else the hypotheses and negativity will continue to mount, and that will impact your will to work.

Patrons pay for a product, thats right, what we see here is the combination of no content given, few announcements made, and bad decisions made. Devs normally finish a build, then they deliver it, if they want to rework something, they talk to patrons, then they rework and post it. In komi case, he decided to instead of giving a build with old graphics but story made, he "nah, i will just take more time reworking everything", and now we see on trello, 30% done, move to another, 30%, put in standby, its like League of legends match, but you never finish an item, instead you buy first and secondary items, then when all slots are occupied, you finish one to unlock more slots.
Sure there is other games out there, but see that there is ppl that like your game, all they want are not excuses, but a proof, the winter event was very good, but thats not all made during years, developing a game is the core, but having fans or ppl who like it, is what make the game popular, otherwise it will be a failure.
You have a good product in your hands, what makes ppl pay you are not only just to support, and also cuz they have faith that you would deliver it and change as a developer, as someone said, you have the milk cow, or the golden eggs chicken, you dont need to make a giant text everytime to explain yourself or give more excuses, just make ppl actually believe on you by giving them something.
And to finish it off, i remember that you said you live in argentina, argentinian pesos are so bad, receiving that much money from patreon must have been like a social ascension, you can receive much more than it, just dont give in, the time to change as a dev and as a person is now, think that you won the lotto prize, but you need to exit home to take it from the lottery.
