"Ok, what was supposed to be a chapter 1 now is the whole game, next update will be like 10% of it, and so far I've finished like 10% of this update" (translation: I only managed to finish literally 1% of what I promised)

It seems what they're saying is that they'll still plan to make what is Ch 2 and 3, but they'll just be a different game because the size they're expecting for Prologue and Chapter 1 is like 30 gb.
Not defending the slow pace of work, but it just seems like it'll just be something like HHG and HHG 2, which is pretty much the same thing in the grand scheme of things. Only time will tell if that will actually be true and when, or if the game dev will actually deliver on any of this. Maybe in 5 years?
From what I understand he said that instead of releasing chapter 1 when it is all done like he originally stated he instead changed his plan to release chapter 1 in 2 or 3 chunks. I haven't heard anything about not releasing chapter 2 or 3 or even combining all the planned chapters as just chapter 1. Where did you hear about this?

1 year?... 2 and a half years now... and counting... if you read the entire thread you will get an idea of how much the dev has lost due to his lies, and on Patreon he keeps saying that he lives busy, that he doesn't have time on the pc; But he makes a fortune, yes, because in all the time he continued with this, he never paused the monetization of his patreon; even when he made no progress. Now, at least something went up, but it's practically nothing, and he admits it, and he justifies that he hasn't had time. He plans a HHG 2, he doesn't want to let go of what feeds him, if he has so much simp there, it would be a waste not to take advantage of them. The developer is Latin (Argentina, Uruguay, Chile but from that southern sector) and does not make its game in Spanish; He did it for a while, but he didn't get a good return from that area (I know this from people who followed him before and are from that area, I won't name names to avoid problems). His discord server is dead at least for those who don't contribute, his channels are mostly private except patreons. He means realize that he only wants to profit from the English-speaking community. Well at least he doesn't have many followers left, but the few who support him, how much longer does he have to wait?

It's a shame this dev isn't interested in doing more, he has so much potential, but the lack of time to work, makes us all wait forever.

3 years now actually (well in 10 more days), the last main game patch was .12 released on October 25, 2020, lol. Since then he's only delivered the sideshow holiday event no one asked for. The promised chapter 1 still nowhere to be found and development has no doubt hit another "snag" for many more months or years. On the bright side I'm pretty sure there's a new world record for the biggest glass of milk ever poured, must be at least 3 stories tall so far. I look forward to seeing what heights he can achieve.

Thanks for the info. I just read through it all. Looks like the original total of 3 chapters are a larger file size than expected. I'm guessing if was all released as one game the download would be prohibitive for users because it would end up being 70 - 90 gigs. So, now instead of one released game with 3 chapters, it will now be released as separate games in HHG1, HHG2 and HHG3 to decrease the download sizes. Each containing one of the originally planned chapters. So now in HHG1, the chunks that he is releasing will no longer be considered updates, they will be called chapters.
I hope that makes sense.

And yes, the story will remain the same that was planned but in three different games that won't share saves, because their gameplay will be different and you will start again in every single game.

He is making ~6k$ a month. As far as we can tell he works on everything alone, so he pockets all the income to himself. He lives in Argentina according to his Twitter profile, where i quote google "According to various sources, the average income in Argentina in 2023 is 145,000 pesos per month, which is equivalent to $645 US dollars." that means right now, he is making ~10 times the avg. income in his country. Lets be ridiculously generous and say Patreon + Taxation takes 50% of his income, which still 3k$ per month... How much money does he need?
He doesn't need motivation, he needs a wake up call, which is slowly coming, he used to make 10k$, the longer he will keep being lazy, the likely this amaizing chance of his life will slip and will leave him with nothing.

Hello developer! I've been playing visual novels for a while, but I've never mustered the courage to comment. This is my first post, and I wanted it to be in your game, which I find amazing.
I can see that development has been slow lately, and the community keeps asking for more and more. However, I believe that all good things take time, and it's better to wait for excellent content like what we've been receiving rather than rushing and compromising on quality.

6k dollars in Argentina is being rich, even after taxation, a normal wage is around 150 dollars today, a really good income is around 600 dollars (most ppl in Argentina makes around 250 dollars). (We have the "official dollar" 350 pesos = 1 dollar (but nobody ever uses this, not even banks) and the "blue dollar" wich everyone uses with a worth of 1dollar =950 pesos.)
