I like the story and most characters, Emma is a bit over the top but the rest are good. I understand slow burn and story first games but at some point you have to start with the lewd content if your game is going into that direction.
Hillside is a strange case because the dev goes backward instead of forward. Like deleting the shower scene with nude Emma years ago. It's strange because in bonus renders we have some eroticism but the game seems to be 95% sanitized more than two years into development.

I just went back to page 1 to look at the genre spoiler, and, as I recalled, there was no mention of real sex of any sort in it. Now, I didn't join the game at the start, so I don't know what was posted then, but I don't recall ever seeing anything more than what is posted now, which is:

3DCG, Male protagonist, Romance, MILF, Masturbation, Voyeurism, Exhibitionism, Teasing, Mobile game

Reviewing the sexy words: Romance check, MILF check (does it count as MILFs if you are not a horny teenager or college student but a man close to the age of the MILFs?), Masturbation check, Voyeurism check, Exhibitionism check, Teasing check double check and quadruple check (and maybe octruple check too).
I'm perfectly happy with the game as is. If you are not, perhaps you should look for another game with different genres. Would I be happy if Hillside had more sexy stuff? Of course I would, but what there is right now satisfies me. I can get as much of the sexy stuff as I want with other games, and real porn too.

1) The vast majority of games posted here have full blown sex in them so it seems reasonable to criticize him for not having it.
2) You have a much more logical argument than most (all?) of the harem demanders.

I believe it had taken a different direction a long time ago, around the time when things like he has mentioned were removed and modified, likely due to a new approach in which the story-focus is highly favored or change of heart or something like that. I'm a little disappointed too, not because of the stern focus on the story but doing it at the expense of doing it.

That is understandable. There is roughly two types of MC usually.

Either you have a "mostly empty", in term of values ad pre established personality I mean. Player can guide his choices, and it can go one way or the total opposite. Because the player is the master of all MC's personality.

Then you have the designed MC (if you have a better name for it, I'll gladly take it). MC comes with his sets of values and his personality. You can stir a bit with his choice, but you can't rewrite his base values, or personality traits.

Hillside is clearly the later. MC has a lot of values and a character quite well defined. You couldn't make it go harem, or cheating, not even corruption. It doesn't fit the character.

I can see why it feels like forcing, but that is just two very different approaches of a choice page game main character. I'm curious to have your opinion on that (if you don't mind)

For all the changes that appears (mostly people are sad to see the Emma changing scene blurred I guess) I don't think DarkBlue changed that much his approach. Charlotte was always going to be the harder relation to have. It will probably come a bit close to the end, like a reward kind of thing. With Kaylah or Lucy, I think we can expect something soon, because they are not what we can call shy ^^

All of this are personal view point of the situation.

I'm fine if Emma doesn't have a route but i hope Suzi does. I think a MCxEmma would be strange at this point. The MC never looked at her that way and she's pretty much oblivious about sex and relationships.
On the other hand Suzi needs screen time with the MC for anything to happen. I think the side model has been more time with him than Suzi.
