I've only discovered this game 3 days ago. I just couldn't resist trying it out, it looked exactly like what i was looking for; bigger, more complex sandbox style game. I prefer playing "completed" games but i had to make an exception. This game is great. Yeah maybe it's a bit grindy but i don't mind that at all. I played only 8 hours so i didn't saw much yet but definitely this game is very engaging. I was just doing small stuffs, you know talking with girls, hugging then, kissing them and working on my stats. It was relatively a slow start. But even that was engaging enough. Then i unlocked shopping app and bought poker cards. Oh my. This just one new thing made this game even more engaging and entertaining. All the girls i've seen so far ale very lovely, but Yvette is clearly a number 1. I was very disappointed when ‘Best Butt’ and ‘Wet T-shirt’ contests couldn't happen on my first week on the island cuz there was not enough girls
I'm on day 12, Yumiko just appeared on the hallway. Can't wait to play more and meet more lovely ladies.

Notice another strange bug. For some reason, there are times when I can't sleep at pass 2:30 am. Not crashing like the pec training with Jen but it just won't do the hourglass to the next day.

Edit: None of the player action are useable after 2:30

Edit: None of the player action are useable after 2:30

From previous posts the error is known.
Seems to happen after midnight if you already have an appointment for the new day.
A possible work around is to advance time until next day via the 30 minute button.
The fix will be included in the next version.

Version 0.3.0 beta - development news (updated 05. of December 2020)

Hi guys and gals, this post offers you a collection of news about the next full version of Holiday Island (0.3.0 beta).

The change log below is based on the beta 0.2.3.0 release.​

The next main release is 0.3.0 beta which will be a new full update for Windows, Linux and Mac. It will include a lot of new features and some bug fixes as well.​

As of right now, the update from 0.2.3.0 to 0.3.0 has:
202 additional renders, videos or sound files
43 updated renders​

New features and content

• A new location, the underground lab and infirmary will be introduced with two new special characters --> still working on it
• A new scene when the MC jogs at the beach and hurts himself will be added. It's a scene with Miriam that leads to the discovery of the underground lab --> still working on it
• Yvette gets another appointment at the beach during sunset --> still working on it
• Aly gets a random event in her room, that involves different cosplays and some intimate actions --> still working on it
• A new special action (pose butt) has been added for Amy, Alice and Jessica. More character will follow later --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• Natasha gets a second arrival scene with a new "on the plane" story and some additional renders --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• Natasha's arrival scene has been re-rendered in 2560x1440 and some new images have been added. The dialogue is now also completely different between the first and later arrival scenes --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• Yvette gets a new scene when she's standing in her door wearing just a towel --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• Alice gets and additional strength training appointment that is repeatable --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• Alice's event where she's struggling with the weights at the gym has been completely remade. There is also an achievement now --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• Alice will get an update for her strength training appointments. All images will be re-rendered in 2560x1440 webp format --> will be part of 0.3.0.0

Minor improvements and changes

• Image quality when special actions like groping etc. are shown on the phone has been improved --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• Natasha gets two new sexting and three new dream images --> will be part of 0.3.0.0
• The phone gets a new character overview screen with more information and direct (1 click) access to all girl related data and achievements --> will be part of 0.3.0.0

Bug fixes

• When you already have an appointment for the next day and stay up until after 02:00, none of the actions in the player room is useable --> will be fixed with 0.3.0.0
• When the doctor is talking, sometimes a wrong name is displayed --> will be fixed with 0.3.0.0

Is the update going to break save games?

0.2.3.2 beta --> Save games from 0.0.8 and later can still be used. Earlier saves are no longer supported.
0.3.0.0 beta --> same as for 0.2.3.2​

I actually made Duckswim's latest picture my wallpaper for a little while. Between the great art work you guys have created plus nice fan fiction Bantry and others have written, I thought it would be cool it you guys could collaborate with Holiday Island - The Comic Book. The only question would be where to sell it. I don't think owners like Stuart or Comic Book Guy could include it amongst the DC and Marvel titles. Guess it would have to be a porno shop. Otherwise we would just have to send in for it.

BTW, I lost my creative mojo to put out more in the Things I'd Like To See series or the Anal Retentive Musings series. And there was much rejoicing. I can't even think of another good topic. But I am willing to take requests.

Any Fan Signatures I make are to give people an idea of the game and promote it.

DuckSwim makes his fan art to promote the game. He has answered this many times. It's not about promoting his work, it's about promoting the game. Yes, it's posted on one other site but even then credits and promotes the game.

I started Fan Fiction, as a way to let people see images from the game and also to attempt to reduce negative or pointless posting, which still happens, but is no where near other threads levels now.To bring people to the thread who enjoyed the game, not trolls or time wasting posters.

Bantry & yankeeInKy joined in with writing Fan Fiction, which I believe is for the same principle of promoting the game.

If anything was to be made for monetary purposes, that belongs to and would be the choice of the owner of this darkhound1

So I can say that a comic book will not happen, fan art or fiction will always be posted here and not in another threads. And is promotion of the game, not promotion of the poster/creator unless it's darkhound1 himself.

After reading the latest update (thnx Bantry for the post btw) i want to acknowledge something many HI players might take for granted, especially if you've been playing from the earliest versions. On top of the brilliant NEW content each version delivers, I GREATLY appreciate that darkhound1 goes back and regularly updates or improves some old content, renders, etc. Some may complain that the time involved takes away from new content development and that's probably fair. But as HI has "evolved" over the course of a few years now, a little visual and technological maintenance and upgrades are required from time to time. For me, this is a talent very few devs even have and the few that do typically don't value the need for it. It's also a good excuse to go back and replay parts of the game while you wait for updates, which I do occassionaly btw. I'm constantly amazed at how well the original game and renders stand up to the new content but I applaud darkhound1 for taking the time to review and revise his work where he sees fit. It's not just editing for edit's sake, it represents a real commitment to excellence and to that, once again, I say thank you sir.

And thanks to fan fiction and Duck Swim art, this thread is one of the funniest and most enjoyable on the forum and not a "fully saved" or "I have this error" wall.

There is already a Darkhound comic that I found looking for information about the game. I call it "Poker Night"

Which version, PC, Mac, Android. Full game or the update/Bugfix? Full or Condensed? You need to be more specific. Also, have you considered it might be a better option to download directly from the developer's Patreon page?
