You're not supposed to update an older version at all. The game is a full version, not an update.
Install the game into a new folder and you won't have that problem.

Good chance it is a 'False/Positive'. Which AntiVirus are you running?

I deleted entire file on PC. Extracted zip file again. And make exception for it in antivirus. And now is working. But on laptop antivirus deleted .exe program and denied access when i am trying again extracted zip file.

Hello, for some reason Holiday Island 0.3.0.0 just does not start at all. I try to run the game but nothing happens. It worked at first, then next day I tried to play it and nothing. I have downloaded it again and re-installed it from different sites again and again, but nothing. I really like the game and would love to play again. I have no idea where the problem would be. Text file named log gives following text, I don't know if this has anything to do with it:

Is that the total log.txt info? If so, it crashed while loading save slot metadata and/or persistent. You might try deleting your saves and persistent (back them up first if you wish) and try starting again. Remember the saves and persistent are in 2 locations in Win, remove both locations.

You must be updating a much older version. What version did you apply the update to? There's no "events_gym.rpyc" file in v0.3.0.0 so you are getting many definition duplications.

I applied the update to version 0.2.3.0

Yeah, it was about saves. I had to delete saves and start a new game. Which is okay, because that what i was going to do anyway. I found answer from here just after i posted my question. But thanks to you as well.

grodom If dl'd from official links it's clean. Your AV will likely smoke many renpy titles if it's giving false-positive on this title, so you might have to exclude them so the executables don't get shoved in quarantine.

It's false flagging something in the new renpy code.
If you do a search back of my posts I talked about this.
AVG did it with me. however what AVG do is look at a copy and then it gets backs to you, which it did and said it was fine and released.
Depending on your antivirus you will probably have to allow it to run or remove from quarantine.
Most antivirus software gets updated with false positives and will allow it, but how long it can be before that happens is anyone's guess, so up to you?

Yes, it took a lot of time but life happens....
Also, if you are not a patron, you have nothing to "complain" about...Dark even release the update for both patrons and free loaders at the same time.

The update from 0.2.3.0 to 0.3.0.0 has 1095 new renders, videos and sound files and 61 updated renders.

It's something to do with the copying over or not allowing a new persistent file to be created on the first run of the game?

Not much to elaborate on. Simply do all the "find out about mercedes' strength" sub-quests then hit the gym after the bar closes (she works security there, so that makes sense yeah?) around 0230. Doing it a second time she'll give ya a TJ/BJ.

Look at the hints in-game which when you hover over a quest appear on the right.
Also good idea to get a copy of YankeeInky's Holiday Island Companion Guide, it has tips and help with things like this.
Make sure you do lots of the Scene/Events/Appointments with both Miriam and Mercedes which are requirements for triggering the gym workouts with Mercedes.
