Hi junior366, the gif in your signature needs some updates. I assume it is from the 1.9.1 days the link points to (may need some refresh too
). That means no Daniela and no Sara. Bad.

Yeah, Aly is more of a farm girl than Brenda but she got the USA flag outfit which is cool for her.
When or if Aly pocker is updated I'm sure it will fit her well.

Look in the main folder of the game (that one where the executables are), is there a log.txt? If this is an error causing by the game, then there should be something in the textfile.

damn i didn't even look at this page but went straight to googling about renpy games not wanting to start haha. removing the persistent file fixed it, thank you.

I've unzipped the two 3.7.1 update files into the Game folder, they've replaced the previous versions, but it still shows as 3.7.0 on launch.
I've deleted both Persistent files etc. and re-downloaded / re-pasted, to no avail.
Anyone got any ideas?

There is only one 0.3.7.1 update only file.
Double check what you copied and where you copied it.

this post offers you a collection of news about the next version of Holiday Island (0.3.8.0).
You can see the main focus and side areas for the next update in the above image.
The change log below is based on the release 0.3.7.0.
As of right now, the update from 0.3.7.0 to 0.3.8.0 has:
482 additional renders, videos or sound files
13 new backgrounds for the phone

New features, major improvements and new content
- Aly's entrance scene before she poses in Jennifer's swimsuit has been partially re-rendered and AI upscaled --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Brenda gets a new poker appointment that will replace her existing one --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Ivy's workout pullups scene will be remade with four achievements and using her new model --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- All girls that were still missing them get high res sprites for everything --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Faye's and Aly's breasts compare event at the beach gets re-rendered in 2560x1440 and some new images are added --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Ivy's workout pecs training scene will be remade using her new model --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Delizia gets a poker reward scene --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Delizia gets a much improved poker appointment with additional renders --> will be part of 0.3.8.0

- The ren'Py engine will be upgraded from 7.4.4 (which was unfortunately a buggy release) to the current 7.5.3. Hopefully this solves more problems and doesn't create new ones. --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- The .rpyc file have been reorganized helping with faster development and making it easier to find stuff in the future. --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- A couple of new phone backgrounds, phone character pictures and sextings for different girls have been added --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- A couple of new love, friendship and sexual messages have been added --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Some basic location and event renders have been AI upgraded to 2560x1440 webp format --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- Amy gets new pool jump in and pool exit renders in 2560x1440 resolution --> will be part of 0.3.8.0
- The poker interface did only support a maximum number of 6 items to undress, although 7 were needed --> will be fixed with 0.3.8.0
- The poker interface had lost all the mouse hover quick texts --> will be fixed with 0.3.8.0
- Wrong image links in some achievements resulting in the display of one or more black images --> will be fixed with 0.3.8.0
- The icon to add images to your favorites has disappeared --> will be fixed with 0.3.8.0
- Heather's sun lotion event could trigger even though she wasn't wearing her skimpy bikini --> will be fixed with 0.3.8.0

Iris is a shortstack (so her face would be visible in that setting) plus she only has long hair to one side
What is Aurelie doing in a picture with Miranda? I thought Miranda only had two daughters, Iris and Angel? I was certain the girl in the picture wasn't Angel (completey differrent hair) that's why I thought Iris.
Edit: we need a map of all the relations and friendships to get this right.
