We Are Ready for QTE

Hello, dear Home Prisoners!

Two winter weeks have flown by unnoticed, and here we are again, ready to share some news with you.
During this time, we have been working on the most challenging event for the next update. This idea has been in our minds since the release of the second episode, and we have imagined many times how it could look. Finally, the time has come to bring it to life. Considering our current capabilities, we were able to implement about 50% of the original idea, but we still hope you will like it!

In the last two weeks, we have created 1 simple, 7 medium complexity animations, and 1 complex animation. To better understand where we spent our time, let's break them down by category:

  • Simple animation: For example, opening and closing a cupboard door.
  • Medium complexity animation: Actions such as a character picking something up from the floor.
  • Complex animation: Complex involves full body use of the character or non-standard interaction with the environment, as well as animations that we are doing for the first time.

We have also created 9 video segments based on these animations. This includes editing, effects, and sound.

And here's the most interesting part: we are expecting our first event using the QTE system! We are confident that it will add a new level of interaction and dynamics to the gameplay.
For those who might not be familiar with the concept of Quick Time Events (QTE), these are interactive events that require players to respond quickly to certain commands on the screen. Introducing QTE into our game opens up new possibilities for storytelling and interaction. We are sure that this innovation will significantly enrich your experience and add dynamics to the plot twists, raising the overall quality of gameplay to a new level.

Also, thank you for helping the younger daughter choose a new casual outfit. She is thrilled with your choice!

So, mini-games...if you aren't fast enough you fail? I am all for more immersion, as long as it doesn't require cat-like reflexes...mine waved bye-bye to me years ago. ;)

Episode 3: Development Progress #4

Hello, dear Home Prisoners!

Over the last two weeks, we have been working hard to enhance your experience in the game, adding new events and arranging the house. Here is a brief overview of our progress:

Implemented two small events:

4 interactive eyes, including 1 in animation format:

The rooms have been redesigned:
Older daughter's room [night] Younger daughter's room [evening]

We've also paid attention to ensuring the new graphics are compatible with existing events in the younger daughter's room:

In total, we've created 1 simple, 3 medium complexity, and 2 complex animations. Based on these, we've made 8 video segments. Also, another video fragment related to the game's internal mechanics.

As you might have noticed, in this update, we had to devote a lot of time to the technical aspect of the game and the creation of the main gameplay structure. We believe we have achieved the minimum plan for the first version of free movement around the house, and now we want to visualize more interesting events for you.

We can't wait to share the next update with you and will try to release it no later than March (most likely in the second half of March).

Episode 3: Development Progress

Hello Home Prisoners,

Over the last two weeks, we've primarily focused on working with the text, structuring events, and the overall organization of the upcoming update.

Episode 3 has been enriched with 2,219 new words, 32 new renders, two animations, and three video segments.

The older daughter's room has undergone changes again, this time for the morning period:

Work on 1 large and 1 small event has been completed. As of now, in the house, you can encounter 1 large and 5 small events.

The challenging part of the work is behind us, and we are close to the finish line. This month, we aim to add at least two to three more events, after which we will proceed with the translation and preparation for release.
