Quick question for you guys.
would we be allowed to use the characters we create in this on other projects? some sort of export or screenshot function.
like for a VN for example...
I have tons of amazing ideas/stories that i think a lot of people here would really love but i am no artist.
At my best, years ago, i could pull off some Studio ghibli art but those days are long gone and i dont have the money to invest in proper art tools for my PC.
Currently im thinking some sort PC software with Highly Advanced Character model editor kind of like the one they are using here, that would allow me to move models into various positions quickly and not hurt my creativity / project flow. My goal is to put my self in a position to pump out high end meaningful content weekly.
This issue has been addressed. If you own a legal copy of HS it is perfectly legal to use. Fukku, a company that owns the rights to unlimited HS tried to stop publishers. No one used that version and Illusion has taken no action to try and enforce any copyright claims. They wouldn't be successful if they tried to anyway. There are tons of HS games on this site. At one point HS was hated and people would avoid games created with HS. Now it is quite popular.
Daz is much easier to use in many respects. It costs a lot more is you are not stealing assets, though. The locations are much better than HS as are the props. You can easily create custom characters with Daz. Milfy City and BADIK are good examples. You need a very powerful computer to use Daz since you must render the image and not just take a screenshot as you do with HS. I like Daz better but there is Blender as well if you can do 3D and it is free.
HS pros: Cheap with tons of free mods(many ripped from Daz) and fast image generation. Can be done with a normal computer.
Cons: crappy locations and props.
Daz pros: Far better overall images and much better settings and lighting. It is just better in almost every aspect.
Cons: expensive and slower image production. It requires a powerful computer and graphics card.
