is it still a useless walking simulator or can i finally move the damn ship?
You can walk on the ship deck, you have to talk to Bosun to get there. But all doors are locked.
Actually you can get inside the ship by sneaking in through cannon door. One of front starboard side doors worked for me, just crouch and back in.
Gun deck looks great, I wonder why devs didn’t made it normally accessible. There is stairwell up to front halfdeck compartment. It looks a bit empty as entire ship, some crates, buckets and decorations should be added yet.
Orlop deck is fine too. Just that whoever was assigned to bilge pump, left long ago :)
I couldn’t get in storage hold, it’s submerged and player can’t dive. I’ve got there when wave got exceptionally low, but almost immediately got stuck crushed in the ceiling because game physics can’t deal with submerged player.
You can get out of there through horizontal door by fiddling on stairs under that.
I haven’t found way to sneak in officers cabins yet.

I’ve read that devs struggle with making hole to the water level that spreads over entire map under terrain included. I wonder if they could make the ship raise above water when player gets downstairs. Player could not see outside anyway, it could work as temporary workaround.

Talk to Stirling, she is in a house on town square east side. She is upstairs. You can either just talk to get gun, or choose one time firearm trivia quiz to fuck her. The last right answer "which renders round unusable" is questionable, my IRL experience is opposite.
yeah as someone who is also an irl gun haver I remember one of the questions caused me to do a doubletake because it was blatantly wrong.

Pretty great game, just wish there was a faster way of getting around, like running on all fours, horse, some cool glider or something to fly around like a griffin/bird mount

Tried it out, getting <30fps with a GTX1060 on lowest settings, is it supposed to be like that?
I have a GTX 970 and I get around 40 FPS on high settings, it drops now and then but the game plays pretty well. Your card is a bit better than mine, but not by a lot.
You might want to check for newer drivers for your card, also, you might want to uninstall your current drivers, reboot, then install the newest drivers. Not sure what else to say that might help, other than trying to close out any other programs you might have running.

This needs fast travel and a journal. More the fast travel than anything, cause there's not much for a journal yet, but definitely needs that later too.

Game doesn't have much optimization yet, only way to get more fps is to wait. You can try disabling grass and make shadows/aa/ssr on low or disabled, it may help a bit. Or disable lib_burst_generated.dll in ruffleneck_Data\Plugins AND disable vegetation.

I'd say set settings to minimum and go up one by one, but it doesn't always work with this game.

I've moved from a total potato pc (30-40 at 900p on low-med mix without vegetation) to a powerhouse and 60 fps at 1080p on ultra is doable, but only when in the wilderness far away from the city, and it slowly goes down to 40-30-20s (at least in earlier versions). In the city it dives to mid 20s without much gpu or cpu usage.

p.s. I7 means nothing, there are I7's that are weaker than I3's. What model exactly? How much ram? Game starts with 5gigs use and can use up to 6 gigs of vram. Getting less than 30 fps on 1060, even if 3gb, is weird.

I wonder when people realize there won't be advanced optimization for every single build with a team so small. Do you really think they have a department dedicated to optimization? xD

I mean do you people even realize the double standards? Devs are too slow, game looks abandoned, game runs like shit, optimize it, they are incompetent, better pirate the game instead of giving them money...

Just wow, many people have too much free time for BS.

Do you realize that low performance on every low-mid tier system is a way to kill interest and money flow in the long run? Game isn't only on patreon, it's on steam too (and patreon is not something you should rely on these days). Only thing that saves them from a big amount of negativity on steam is that it is a really niche prototype. And good anims.

I have no problems with slow development (*cough* *cough* Overgrowth preorder *cough*) and know how optimization works in relation to dev stages, but devs are in for a seriously long project (my estimation is another 3-5 years), and it's not indie funding paradise anymore, so if every build will be 20-40 fps, even if stable, big oof. I bet that sailing (if it will be proper sailing and not S.M. Pirates like or lighter) will take more than a year to develop properly, and all devs and designers will be on it, sooo... At least one pass of proper optimization is a must after every big update. In this version, game lags substantially less, and that's good, but town is a mess performance wise and that's the main hub of the game for now, good way to kill first impression. Not even talking about a possibility of impossibility of optimization without breaking some important systems due to not doing some optimization passes earlier or not updating an engine before it breaks too much for upgrade to be viable.

Most people are looking for a good lewd game, not another devteam to love and respect with passion. :HideThePain:

p.s. I bought it some time ago, didn't refund or made negative review, I just like f95 more than cozy dev discords where you can get banned for talking shit giving important critique. And I do not consider devs incompetent, on the contrary, I think that they are making one of the most interesting and ambitious lewd games with gameplay, not just scene builder, and have enough skill to make it. It's just that I have a bit of experience when it comes to commercial dev, gamedev included, and some mistakes are too common and often hit small teams hard at the later stages and I don't want that for HaS.

p.p.s. Is there any public roadmap?

The game being on steam has multiple reasons. First you don't have to download the full build everytime when a new one comes out and just download the new files which is way faster. Second thing is if you pledged $30 in total on Patreon you will get it for free on Steam. This part ends this month so take it with a grain of salt. And the third is that some people prefer to have their games all on Steam so yeah, people can choose.

The main dev is very careful with hiring more workers cuz there are so many unreliable people who call themselves trustworthy or talented. I agree with you that the game will need several more years to get finished but i knew that from the beginning when i read the Patreon, asked the dev many questions and had a rough image in my head what they plan to do.

If people aren't sure if they should invest money or not...asking questions is for free and then they can decide if it's worth the time and cash.

No one is forced to love anything. I can understand that it sucks to wait. Have that problem with many other devs too but that's what you have to endure if you want to play games from indie devs.

Feel free to join the discord. You only get banned if you act like an asshole or if you try to annoy everyone with stuff no one cares about. Critique, may it be positive or negative, is a big yes and most wanted.
