Are there some translation issues going on? Right at the start:
And the choices are:
So basically, a rich kid and a poor kid are having a scuffle, and the poor kid has the rich one in a headlock or something? And there’s a law forbidding poor kids from touching rich ones (it’s kind of weird to specify that poor kids can’t retaliate, when in the example it’s the rich kid who’s getting restrained, but whatever). Note that there’s no info on which kid started it, or any other factor to influence our decision besides the law. With this in mind:
- Shame him for what? Letting the poor kid, who’s his social inferior, get the upper hand on him in a fight? Fair enough, but the MC’s line when choosing this is, “I’d encourage the rich kid to jump off a roof,” which in context doesn’t make much sense? And the psychologist’s reply to this is: “It’s not as easy as you think.” What? What’s not easy? Jumping off a roof? Or is it meant to be that a rich kid jumping off a roof won’t resolve the class situation that easily?
- Who calls the police over a scuffle between children? Maybe if one of them were caving the other’s skull in with a baseball bat, but from the description, he just has him in a hold. Since the MC and other characters seem to be in their later teens, are we meant to understand that the “children” in the example are older teens too? Even so, I have trouble seeing this as a reasonable response, no matter where the MC’s loyalties lie.
- I thought this meant the MC would try to break up the fight by restraining the poor kid, who’s the perceived “aggressor” (again, we don’t know the specifics of how the fight started), but the line is, “Since I can’t lay a finger on the rich one, I’d teach a lesson to the poor one.” Huh? Talk about misleading; I thought I was trying to be a good guy by breaking up the fight, but apparently this choice has the MC take out his own frustrations by beating up the poor kid? And the psychologist’s reply is, “Making a note to never allow you becoming a teacher,” which … what? Who ever talked about becoming a teacher? Does she mean the MC should never be allowed around children?
