I will quibble about the affair bit... We don't conclusively know that Andres had an affair, unless Nyx changed that scene in her 5.5 update. Otherwise I agree with everything being said about Emily, Erynn, etc.

I don't know why people are so against any character at this point. No one has done anything that makes them unredeemable, it all comes down to how Nyx writes them. Emily made a promise to Andres not to tell their son who the bio-dad was... And Andres is still the MC's father, he raised him, he put in all the work that has made MC the man he is... More than anyone else at this point.
Emily has probably regretted sending her son away since she made the decision and the MC left. The MC was being a douche canoe and not explaining to anyone why he was acting out. She did what she thought was best but has missed her son terribly ever since. Now she thinks she's completely destroyed their relationship.

IMO everyone deserves a second chance, the MC receives second chances, why shouldn't he extend the same to his own mom? Yes, she kept a secret from him, but she did it at the request of her ex-husband/former love of her life... I think that's a reasonable person to keep secrets for when all is said and done. The way she told him was terrible and I would definitely poke fun at my mom for her delivery and timing... But if the MC is going to cut people out of his life for keeping secrets then he is going to be very lonely since everyone seems to have kept secrets from him - Erynn, Lexi, Layla, Mel, Emily, Andres... Give Nyx time perhaps at the end the MC will be a homeless bum who lives on the beach. :ROFLMAO:

i get that, i sometimes forget that people have a harder time with english than me because it's also not my first language (not that it's perfect mind you)

that's why it makes me curious too, how other people interpret the same material

I would guess that he didn't have an affair, just by the very fact that MC was sent to live with him. If Andres had an affair on top of not being MC's biodad, it makes zero sense for Emily to send MC to him, regardless of MC's behaviour. Emily keeping her promise to Andres and sending MC to him indicates a level of trust and amicability that wouldn't be there with the betrayal of cheating.

Oh. You mean just hiding his relationship with Haley from MC? Yeah, I don't understand that at all. I've seen it a few times in these kinds of games, and it just makes the parent look like a real douchebag.
EDIT: Unless... he's cheating on Haley? Did I miss that being a thing?

maybe he thought the MC would try and fuck her, you know father and sons dont have the best relationships in these kind of games (if the fathers not dead then the son is trying to cuck him)

Potentially...you did yes (and hence thus Adres punching us and Haley throwing him out..thus how we end up on the plane)

To be fair, I started the game with a very negative view on Erynn and the first meeting kind of comforted me in that view. It was mostly because of how she is presented from the MC point of view.
But that's also why I love this game's writing, it showed me that assumptions are not to be made and you need to be understanding of other people. Everyone is different, everyone reacts differently to a situation and that's fine.
After my first impression of Erynn, I'm way more warmed to her (well, at that point, I see her as a very good friend, not a love interest though).

To get back on Emily and Andres. We don't know the full picture, only a (very small) part of it. Though, I haven't seen Andres assaulting anyone (haven't yet checked all choices ^^ ) but yeah, that one would be very bad.
For now, I don't have anything negative about Emily though, I know the MC overreacted when storming off and I'm waiting for the moment where Emily will be able to tell more about how she feels (about the MC, about the making out session with Mel and the "secret" about Andres).
But in the end, if people hate some characters, it shouldn't matter, after all it would mean they are passionate about the game and it's a good thing. :)

Yeah, difficult to trust someone with your only child if they've already lost your trust... It seems like Andres and Emily still communicate.

We don't know that he cheated on Haley, the MC accuses Andres of cheating on Haley, and on Emily, and gets punched for it.

As long as hating the characters doesn't make people rage against the dev, people who don't share their opinion, or demand changes. I try to "wait and see" when it comes to controversial characters these days. If the dev is a good enough writer it is best to let them tell the story without having preconceived (and in some cases oddly made up) notions of how people behave or will act. As an example, we don't know the whole story as to why Emily never told the MC who his dad is or why she agreed to keep it secret. But yet people are already deciding that they never want anything to do with her again. Which I am sure they are going to be disappointed because I doubt Nyx is going to give them the option to never talk to the MC's mom again.

And don't praise Lord Dark Helmet too much... He still likes to play with his dolls. ;)
