I know that. I know that Ethan promissed her to delete the video if she went with him to prom. The moment she saw Ethan wasn't fulfiling his side of the bargain she shoud've contact Zane or talk to Mel or idk., instead of making it another persons problem that have no conection to it at all. Now this matter on it's own is bad.She broke up with Zane cuz she chose to go with Ethan to the prom as he "told" her he will delete the video if she does...so she threw Zane from the picture and kept believing in false hope if she does what Ethan says he will delete the video at some point or simply having sex with her
Overall Erynn made horrible choices and when she saw the mc for first time in 5 years she saw the knight with shiny armor who will save her
That's easy for an outsider to say. She was a teenager at the time. It's not uncommon for her to try to keep her mother and ex-boyfriend out of the loop and turn to someone else she trusts instead. Although she didn't even do that. MC found out most of it for himself and Erynn was mentally exhausted at the moment and couldn't kept up the facade. Apart from that, many significantly older and more experienced people do not manage to defend themselves against blackmail. Especially if this blackmail takes place by means of videos or images that shame those affected. It's not entirely fair to blame Erynn for something other humans can't do either. I find the situation quite realistically represented by Nyx. Erynn is a very young woman with limited life experience.
She doesn't want Mel to know about the sextape, her knowing is one of the reasons for the blackmail, obviously she wouldn't go to Mel about it. As for going to Zane, how does she know that he would help her? For all she knows Ethan got the tape from Zane and he knows about Ethan's blackmail and doesn't care.
From Erynn's perspective what else can she do? She doesn't want to tell Mel, Zane, idk if Lexi knows but she's willing to tell MC whom she didn't see for 5 years. People tend to change in that time so a person that you remember as good in 5 years can turn bad if you didn't had interaction with that person.

It's not exactly like that. When you play the game it's your game so you chose the route (girls). However in the case of Erynn it's more complicated. Firstly she is blackmailed by Ethan thanks to that sex tape. Thanks to that sex tape he forces her to do things for him, be a escort girl, before that she went on prom with him and ditched her bf Zane. If she doesn't do what Ethan demands he'll upload sex tape on internet. And Erynn does go to become Math teacher so you can presume how things would play for her i Ethan would upload video for whole world to see. I mean firstly there's no school in state that would employ her and even if one school would give her employment well we all were kids at one point so lets not pretend like we didn't explore porn stuf on internet cause i surely did. So you can imagine how the things would work for her if she was in the class and her students were not paying atention to her but using their imagination and what kind of embarassment would it be for her if she overheard one of the students talking about her in that video. However even though MC is a childhood friend of Erynn she still doesn't have right to demand anything from MC. She didn't hear or see him in 5 years and that problem of sex tape and whole blackmail by Ethan started way before MC returned. And that's the part that bothers me, couldn't she ask for help from Zane to see if he was aware of all of this, her mom Mel or Lexi? No, she waited all these years for MC to return and save her like knight in shining armor which to me is bs. So from a story perspective she isn't lying nor she's whore but forced to do things she really doesn't want.
