On the surface games like AEA and The Office seem like they have a lot in common with JOHN. But it shouldn't take very long to see that AEA and The Office are very different structurally. John is, IMO, one of the best, most well balanced, games on the market today. There's enough sex to keep (most) people happy, enough plot to keep people interested, and enough discretion from the dev to hold it all together. The Office gets weaker the more you play it, and AEA feels like a game that was ground breaking three years ago but hasn't kept pace and shouldn't be compared to a game like JOHN. I can see why people like both, but they aren't really good alternatives to JOHN.

The only thing these games have in common is characters with comically huge tits. I guess it's the thing that stands out visually, so I can see how people make the connection, but still I don't see the quality of renders as comparable.

Majority do not care about lesbian or connor content so there was no doubt no one will even bother voting for that. Watching Jessica get down and dirty for anyone other than connor is what matters most to everyone and right now she has only progressed with old men so ofcourse that category will have higher vote since Stoper himself has put alot of emphasis on just them, i dont think that would be the case had we had any proper progression with the other guys, there's like 1 or 2 young guys with some interactions while the rest of the men have no proper route with Jessica besides christian.

Yeah it's not surprising when you follow the AVN scene. I don't think it's related with the content already in game. It doesn't have the corruption tag, but it's a big fetish for female MC games to have the beautiful chick be debased by ugly old men

Exactly my thoughts. Polls of this kind show almost always the same results, indicating a trend towards very niche and extreme, well, let's call it "fetishes". I really don't think it has much to do with the already available content in the game, either. We can see similar results in other games where there's barely any of this implemented yet, and people are pretty much begging for "shota" and old farts content.

This is why it's dumb to do polls like this. Most people confuse it with quality, if a game just caters to their kinks. Many people also get really upset, when a game makes them feel anything but arousal and plot twists are like traumatic experiences for them.
If you have any vision for your game as a dev, you shouldn't ever ask what the players want, or we'll end up with every single game having the same story about an incestuous harem.

Wow - let me slow you down a bit there. Just because a fetish doesnt play into your own taste doesnt make it questionable. A fetish is just a concept, a shell for something. Many people have a fetish without ever giving life to any actionable events. That is one reason why the porn industry is as big and diverse as it is.

As for your argument about the age groups - let me give you a perfect real life example: K-Pop groups. Any given girl group is build around this basically. The age group that spends the big money in that market is not the youngsters but those that are established in their economy. That makes them an obvious target market. Same goes for the adult game market. The money is simply not in the age groups you imagine. This said doesnt make each and every middle aged man a perverted cradle robber as you imply. What you deal with is the classical result of poll driven development. If those who finance the game have a say then you simply have to deal with market forces - and those often are unbalanced. I wasn't talking about any regular or legal fetish out there, and I'm not kink shaming anyone for their fetish either, aslong as it's within certain laws. I'm talking about content involving obvious minors being presented as "shota", or content with characters who are supposedly 18+ but do look like elementary school kids, and the people it attracts to pay for this kind of stuff. Like I said, that doesn't mean everyone supporting a game like that is a pedophile(a word I tried to avoid on purpose, but oh well), but it certainly is an easy way for a bunch of people to act out their darkest and very questionable fantasies. The rules for the content you refer to are very clear here on F95 and have been for a long time (see here) which is why i couldnt really relate in any other way than i did. It very much sounded like a general classification the way you worded it. This game doesnt touch that category by any means and follows the rules here accordingly.

Both young/old versions are equally popular tropes in porn too - be it the young guy with the MILF/Cougar or the young girl with the old fart which makes the poll result not a very surprising one given that. The audience is very much the same after all.

P.S. While you point fingers towards 'certain games' - maybe have a look at Black Desert Online. There is an entire class that fits your description and that is a multi-national online game having passed several Nation's agencies age-content mechanism.
