I think it doesn't really matter if the male is father or step-father, it's all fiction. The reason why incest is forbidden in real life is not because it's disgusting or something, it's because a possible pregnancy is at high risk for the baby to be born disabled. It's not against the law to show or descibe such relations in novels, movies or elsewhere. So the patreon people think it's nececessary to set some moral standards for whatever reason.
A company like Patreon, who is in it to make money, should never crow too much about morals, quite hypocritical by them. Anyway, what irks me the most about the "morals" of companies like Patreon or Steam, is their backwardness on sexuality. What e.g. Steam hides behind "adult" warnings and censorship is, from a European point of view, an absolute joke! Many software companies give out official "Steam uncensor patches" for their games, most times stuff which should never had been censored at all because of it´s tameness.
The typical afternoon TV program in most European nations is more "hardcore" than what brings Steam or Patreon up in arms. While some stuff in KC or other games might be a little more harder than standard, these novels, games, etc are fantasy, not reality. Anybody with just a single braincell should get the difference.

What's even more ridiculous is that they get up in arms about that and things that either turned into scams (cough *simbro* cough) or have been reported to be massive scams or stolen credit card operations from the start are just left going.

Brains or not, you surely remember the Clinton/Lewinsky case, nipplegate, not to mention the current inmate in the white house. The 'industry' (what a name for the porn biz), glory holes, surgically enhanced trophy wives as 'celebrities' but no nipples. Each society has its double standards, however the US have a long tradition of puritanism and bigottery.

Here is the excerpt from the message sent to me from their staff regarding the new guidelines:

"To clarify, if there is an optional feature in which a character could engage in incestual or non-consensual activities, then the player would still have a chance to view and interact with content that is considered to be a violation of the guidelines.

If this feature were to be removed from your game so that there is no mention/depiction of incestual or non-consensual activities, then it would fall within our guidelines. This extends to all content on your creator page, direct links that lead to this type of content, and other platforms showcasing work funded through your Patreon. "

As I expected, the features that were not allowed must be removed. The changes in my game will not be reverted. The creators who have not removed their disallowed content are not safe from a suspension or ban.

Thank you for your understanding. The situation is out of my control.

First of all @3Diddlyf95zone You rock! thank you for more information. I personally have no issues with your changes and why you are doing them. I know how things can go and logically unfortunately there will people trying to sneak it by and unless they have sanitized versions to submit they will be hit again possibly. sigh it's BS but it is what it is and you are doing things you think are best. I hope things change or a better platform comes available.

to be honest, I've seen things like this happen elsewhere... a site called FetLife used to use Pay pal (one of my favorite devs used it as well (galaxy pink)) and pay pal changed their TOS and dropped all ADULT site funding so now they are left with a few monetary funding options in the us and then it can get bad if it happens to be seen and one bank decides to close accounts etc. it's not good what so ever in this so patreon is trying to keep their revenue stream going because if they are seen as trying to curb the worst stuff then the banks won't drop them completely.

I echo the compliments about your game. One of my favorites. And I completely understand your reasoning. I don't fault you at all, but I am disheartened nonetheless.

Banking isn't an issue. Banks don't regard sexual content of client accounts, only solvability and close accounts for other reasons only on justice decisions.

In my opinion, paypal TOS don't matter as much as US ridiculous mentality towards sexuality. Here is a country that lets mass murderers buy assault rifles freely but can't stand a boob on TV.
Paypal is owned by Ebay a Californian society, Patreon is owned by Californian show business (musicians & hollywood editors) and, as such, are following the sick line of morality inforcement.

Again, sexuality is an issue, well aided by feminists who are at war against sexuality but pictures like Saw pose no threat.

Recent changes are probably a consequence of the Weinstein case. In an ironic display, Weinstein last longer than the killing of Las Vegas proving once more that life has no value compared to the safeguard of morality...

Conclusion for those who create contents. Leave every US based societies and choose a less psychotic country for your partnerships.

But the banks for funding the content are still American (Visa/MasterCard/PayPal) and the US government is not afraid to force them in compliance.
Why do you think Wikileaks is using bitcoin now or Russia is developing their own network?

No disrespect towards 3Diddly, but I just simply won't play/support a neutered game because some puritan bureaucrats decided to be assholes.

It's your choice. However, what does it matter if one of the MC's lovers is her father, her stepfather or just a family friend? And, if you are in need for bestiality, there are several comics and games you may d/l for free.

While I can pretty much understand the creator's decisions (although they sadden me), this comes out as way too defensive and/or blindly worshiping him. Sorry if this seems insulting but that's what I get from it.

You say that the relationship with an NPC doesn't matter? Why bother building a background for each of them them.
In the same vein, her boss' attitude doesn't matter either if he suddenly becomes a goody-two-shoes. Just fill the world with random NPCs and have Katie become arbitrarily a whore or whatever. That's not how progressive corruption games work (and KC is a quite good take on it).

As for bestiality, some may regard it as the ultimate form of (self-)degradation. I won't lie, I was quite eager for content with Max. While I can find bestiality elsewhere as you claimed, it's not really a valid response when someone express concerns or sadness for it's removal.
It's all about the context, and KC's context and build-up was great into it. By saying "You can get the same pleasure from a random image off the internet" is really a downplay on 3Diddly's character development.

1. Because that's the content/fetish many of us donated money for 2. It's outrageous for a company to all of a sudden come in and censor fictional games, it's a modern day book burning. Now, if you're fine with playing sanitized games that always have to fall in line with the censorship rules, then more power to you.

Well, I agree with you in some points. Seems you hoped this little game would meet your expectations, and now it does not. Alright, beforehand it was your choice if you chose to see some incest and bestiality action and now you can't even choose it or not. Concerning the patreon policy to me is one of the major problems on the net. Either you accept the rules (including a change of policy) or you are out. As far as I know some of the creators quit their job and make their living by presenting their creations via patreon, and subsequently become kind of dependent on it.
