Ok, by now, you know the drill: i need to organize my thoughts and to do that i like to write them down. So here it goes.

First of all, I don't usually use the term "mid" in this way, but somehow that is a recurring thought for me now. A lot of "not bad at all, but...".

The writing: Monsinne is almost unrecognizable. The descriptions are nice, the style fits and he leaves his usual cliches at home this time. But... the characters are about as deep so far as the impact crater after a rain drop and the setting is basically every "MC moves into new town and starts managing brothel/inn/tavern/spa" you have seen before. There are also about a dozen minor typos, which should be fixed in the future.

The art is not bad at all, but the new artist's "rougher" style absolutely clashes with Nomo's "smooth" one. If someone knows more about art, please help me out with the proper terms. The character designs fit the settings very well, my favorite is Willow so far... but the background art is basically a placeholder with muted colors and low contrast.

The game play is simple. Visit locations, get to know the town and the people and occasionally acquire some optional items that can be used later on. Again, basic, but bug free and functional, so after KoD being burned by trying to add new mechanics in each patch, this was the right choice imho.

The Main Character. Amelia was not among my favorites in KoD, but i try to be objective. She was good for teasing funny reactions out of Sabia and keeping her off balance when she tried to blend in with the crowd. But now she is the protagonist, and what's more she turns out to be a succubus, so her being her causes almost every background character we meet to blush, giggle and stutter like a highschool girl. A notable exception is Not-Katarina who was established in KoD already.

I get why they did it, but this removes a lot of color from the interactions. Amelia will flirt with everyone, that is who she is, but the reactions to this could have given the new NPCs a lot of personality in the first few lines, but now almost everyone sounds the same. By trying to make the MC more interesting they accidentally made her dialogues more bland.

When it launched KoD had Nomo's full screen art, Sierra's writing, a unique setting and a bitchy but likeable protagonist who was dropped into a place which contradicted everything she knew before, creating a natural environment for exploration and growth.
KoD-A does not have that, and in my opinion, this is the main thing the devs have to decide and decide soon: what is the selling point of this game?

Just make a new game, new story, new art why keep beating a dead horse. Mixing the art from the 2 games is super weird.

Don't tell me you don't want to lose your built up reputation

Just speaking art wise, the direct comparison shows it's behind KoD at its beginning, but I'll give it some credit that it's much better than the weird "bimbo-ifcation" & blocky orc style it ended on.

Story wise, I assume they're just gonna lean into Amelia being into whatever sex is proposed & it'll be up to the player to decide if they want to bang the other person as opposed to KoD where you originally could resist/submit before that also went out the door.

I'm open to wherever they decide to take this, I just want to see if they can actually commit to a routine release schedule.

I keep reading this term "WEG". What does it mean? Is it short for WEDGIE? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Sample usage:
"This is truly a WEG of all time, I can't even begin to imagine being a patron and getting milked this hard, this update isn't even coming before Christmas, so we won't even get to laugh at how shit it is."

WEG stands for Western Erotic Game, as opposed to eroge which is a term for Japanese erotic games. The distinction is important on some anime-themed forums due to the differences in development approach and stereotypes attached to each of those two.

I can't tell really why but I Noxian nights has that perversion and scenes that KoD doesn't. Really wish they'd develop a new game more like what they did first. With some public, bestiality, etc.

PS : Just tested their new game, holy f the characters designs are ugly xd. Can someone ping me who was the artist behind Noxian Nights? Ty

To be frank I do like the messy art style it is alright...the problem is that they are reusing assets from the original game, Nomo's art is smooth and "clean", couple that with the new "rough" messy art style you get unpleasant results and one can come to think that the new artist doesn't know how to draw. It is just a different art style not that the artist can't draw, honestly, Mon should've just kept off the release until they had enough art in the new style.

Could be the case, for real I'm saying "ugly" it's not ugly, it is for a porn game where we expect really lascivious and beautiful arts/models in general. But it's certainly very different from what we got before. And also seems to cover more "vannier" kinks that are for me not interesting at all.

I honestly admire the new artist. Taking up a project of any kind after someone else is always rough and often thankless, but he still jumped in anyway.

But these clashing styles also made me wonder: Nomo at his best didn't hesitate to fill up the whole screen with his characters. Just check any of the HQ pictures and it's not rare to find one large Sabia from border to border. Is that even possible with the new art style? The new game is finally designed for wide screen, yet the character sizes are closer to the sketch-scenes than the originals.
