Still downloading but boy is this game loosing its luster. The serum production and management aspects are getting so complex that they are overshadowing every other aspect of the game.
yes, nice game, but all this lab stuff take way to much time. thx to good ppl for mod, it saved this game for me.

I would have skipped this game and not thought twice if the Mod didn't exist. I feel like the modders have better ideas for the future of the game than the creator, I hope he course corrects and focuses on new events and possibly adding more faces and body type customizations, small titty big booty women are an under represented.

Haven't played in a few updates. After looking at the changelogs I'm wondering something:

Among all the talk for duties and job classes - was the employee limit cap increased? (I believe it was 7 when I last played)

Just seems like the kind of obvious thing if you want the player to fully explore and utilize the systems you spent so much time on, without limiting them to such a small pool of options to work with.... right?

employee cap has been around 25 for at least two years

This has now become virtually unplayable due to restrictions in production "IE" You can spend days creating a serum In R&D only to find your unable to sell it for some unexplainable reason So back to the drawing board producing inferior drugs with no worth It's become to tied down in Micromanagement And lost the fun factor. SAD!

I think this game is an excellent example of how coding does not a game designer make. What is the point of all of these different systems that are added patch after patch? Like the core content of the game hasn't been improved, it would be different if these systems were paired with something you could achieve or progress on, but instead, they're just more systems.

There is beauty in simplicity. There is room for complex systems in intense 4x strategy games, but this is ridiculous. There is already a 4x strategy porn game that does everything better. Okay, it's a management game, I get it, but learning these different systems does not feel rewarding.

I wish the creator would read this understand what fans of this genre want. You can make it complicated and serve a purpose beyond its complexity. Put in storylines add depth, create exciting interactions between the story, its systems, and what the player decides to do.

Jesus Christ, I have watched this train wreck for long enough.

I just point out that LabRats 2 development started in 2017. Times change and so do goals at times. Starting new games everytime is nothing new and surprising - it has been like this since the very first version and there was never any announcement of a change so far.

The orginal design document from October 2017 was the only actual fixed info what was planned - and things have been mostly reiterated around major parts of that. if you are serious about the game contact Vren and let him know that you feel like this needs closure - but dont expect things to change your way by posting in this dark corner of the net :)

If you dont feel like contacting Vren then move over to the mod-threads and support those people in their work and give them your love instead.

Wow, if I read something like that I really dont know why I should play the game.
Because it is one of the best games on the site?
The characters, the gameplay.
But you shoud threat it as an once a year thing at most.
The update's are 90% more grind and 10% more story.
I learned that lession the hard way.
It has its flaws.
Still its a good experiance.
At best you have a few days of fun.
At worst you dont like it and move on.

Now personaly i am just tired of going through the motions.
Create character, Seduce stephanie, hire expendable none story characters to make me money.
Make a lot of money while slowly unlocking everything.
Corrupt the story characters.

I can fully understand the hate.
It gets really tedious after the 7 time.
Which is why you shoud play this only once then wait for a year to play again.
Or even better until its done.

sad part, Vren doesn't listen to his own polls, so I don't see him listening to the patreons just my observation.

I play it about 30 times a month:) although taking a slight break, with 49.2 mod mostly being stable now. downloaded 50.1 but don't even think I am going to take the time to break it apart to look at the code.

The game only has content for 3 days.
How do you not get bored of it?

It's actually crazy how much hate this game gets for no reason. I can understand the constant complaining about bugs and poor optimization, but people jumping on this page on first actual flavor update (especially on the business side) in a while is actually just funny at this point.

Its probably been said before but theres 446 pages of comments here so....

I feel like this game would be alot better by having a bit more help ingame. For instance, when you have 10+ employees and their stats keep changing every single day but it never tells you what spesifically did that or why it becomes tedious, frustrating and confusing very fast. Was it a policy affecting them? Side effect of serum? Salary? If context for the game is needed, call it a "journal" or something that shows the changes in stats and behavior, it could even be a policy upgrade to buy.

I also think the UI in general leaves alot to be desired, especially in the R/D department where theres alot of selections to be made. Scrolling through 50 of those little blue boxes to find and continue a research gets old fast, and I would love for the UI to be made more visually appealing along with some comfort upgrades like search function and/or more ways to section things off into different categories.

Other than that I think its a fun management game
