Wow, if I read something like that I really dont know why I should play the game.New game is required on every update.
I don't dislike the systems. They aren't the problem, the problem is that it is not consequential to the story how I use them.I disagree. I quite like the systems, as do plenty of others. Try not to assume everyone has your same interests.
Because it is one of the best games on the site?Wow, if I read something like that I really dont know why I should play the game.
Which game is the better one you are talking about?I think this game is an excellent example of how coding does not a game designer make. What is the point of all of these different systems that are added patch after patch? Like the core content of the game hasn't been improved, it would be different if these systems were paired with something you could achieve or progress on, but instead, they're just more systems.
There is beauty in simplicity. There is room for complex systems in intense 4x strategy games, but this is ridiculous. There is already a 4x strategy porn game that does everything better. Okay, it's a management game, I get it, but learning these different systems does not feel rewarding.
I wish the creator would read this understand what fans of this genre want. You can make it complicated and serve a purpose beyond its complexity. Put in storylines add depth, create exciting interactions between the story, its systems, and what the player decides to do.
Jesus Christ, I have watched this train wreck for long enough.
sad part, Vren doesn't listen to his own polls, so I don't see him listening to the patreons just my observation.I just point out that LabRats 2 development started in 2017. Times change and so do goals at times. Starting new games everytime is nothing new and surprising - it has been like this since the very first version and there was never any announcement of a change so far.
The orginal design document from October 2017 was the only actual fixed info what was planned - and things have been mostly reiterated around major parts of that. if you are serious about the game contact Vren and let him know that you feel like this needs closure - but dont expect things to change your way by posting in this dark corner of the net
If you dont feel like contacting Vren then move over to the mod-threads and support those people in their work and give them your love instead.
I play it about 30 times a monthBecause it is one of the best games on the site?
The characters, the gameplay.
But you shoud threat it as an once a year thing at most.
The update's are 90% more grind and 10% more story.
I learned that lession the hard way.
It has its flaws.
Still its a good experiance.
At best you have a few days of fun.
At worst you dont like it and move on.
Now personaly i am just tired of going through the motions.
Create character, Seduce stephanie, hire expendable none story characters to make me money.
Make a lot of money while slowly unlocking everything.
Corrupt the story characters.
I can fully understand the hate.
It gets really tedious after the 7 time.
Which is why you shoud play this only once then wait for a year to play again.
Or even better until its done.
The game only has content for 3 days.I play it about 30 times a monthalthough taking a slight break, with 49.2 mod mostly being stable now. downloaded 50.1 but don't even think I am going to take the time to break it apart to look at the code.
well I play about 5 different versions of the game. so there is that. the main game, usually latest 2 versions, the Mod on f95, a few mods that in test. My personal adjustments to the game. The game only has content for 3 days.
How do you not get bored of it?
A lot of the hate comes from people who played LR1 and liked the game, and then checked out the sequel only to find it has become spreadsheet simulator sprinkled with sexy time. Like having to create the drugs, keep track of all the effects each one does, then keep track of all that across what 30 different characters becomes a headache. It's actually crazy how much hate this game gets for no reason. I can understand the constant complaining about bugs and poor optimization, but people jumping on this page on first actual flavor update (especially on the business side) in a while is actually just funny at this point.
What you haven't mentioned is, that the people are also unable to understand why this is. Vren stated that this game is a project for him to learn programming. It is not about storytelling and he stated at the beginning that he will develop the code as he goes. So it is not surprising that this game is about mechanics and the implementing. It is also not surprising that is has a lot of bugs, as he stated he is learning. If you compare his first versions with the versions now you can see how he developed himselve and his code over the time. (And i will totally take hits for this, in my opinion he has made a lot of progress in understanding how things should work, even if he lacks in the consequence to do it clean).A lot of the hate comes from people who played LR1 and liked the game, and then checked out the sequel only to find it has become spreadsheet simulator sprinkled with sexy time. Also because a lot of people view the sex and animations and models as a downgrade compared to the first game since it uses randomly generated models so every thing ends up looking the same
