I can easily disprove that with an example. What were AAA games 20 years ago? The AAA H games I mentioned are more popular than many considered AAA games long ago. You can't compare an industry to another, we're talking about H games, so we shouldn't use non-H games, and its hundred of billions dollars industry.
But then again, we're discussing semantics here. My point here was to disagree with the statement "There is no triple A level H game industry.....only unfinished aspirations that could have been the start of one. ", which in my opinion, is just an ignorant statement, especially considering the relative size of the industry in Japan. The only reason the absolute numbers don't compare to non-H games is because porn is taboo in the west (to be honest, everywhere else in the world), so the comparison, and using non-H games as a way to disprove my statement that there are AAA H games is extremely dishonest.
We're biased for living in the west, but 'sex sells', and the porn industry is underrated. If you search Koikatsu or Honey select development cost, or Illusion net worth before closing down, you'll see how it's not so far from other AAA japanese games, especially considering not only the taboo and piracy, but how some games aren't even allowed to be sold outside Japan.
Either way, I don't think I'll be able to have a healthy and productive discussion with Rat-attack, nor do I desire to do so, I kinda know how conversations usually go with these people. But if you want to keep the discussion going, I'll be glad to respond.
