Because it changes the plot of the story. His story is based on characters having a specific relation. So change not possible.

Ok, how about name change, not relationship change.
Besides, there are many games that you can change the relation and it doesn't matter, since its just a few letters. Honestly, for me, is to avoid named characters that remind me of rl people i don't want to think about.

Name change for new version is possible I guess since he is using renpy. For older rpgm version very difficult unless he converts to renpy.
