Gosh i hated lots of VN 2008-2018 especiially ntr.. not bcos i hate NTR but in order to open Gallery you need to purposely be defeated by npc / meet certain criteria for losing....even though you already finish the game... and my will to play a finish game is waning kek

they still active but rarely post.
For some reason he posts like once a year but then keeps editing that post periodically. It's only been a week or two since he posted the most recent update for the D&B demo, and he was updating it almost daily between when the demo came out and that last update.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get the cheats for leane 2 to work with this game? They seem to be running the same engine

Never mind i found the cheat file for the first game on the jap wiki. Unfortunatly it replaces patch2.xp3 which is what the english patch uses so replacing it removes the english :/.

Edit: I figured it out. All i had to do was rename the patch to patch 3 and it works! For anyone who wants to cheat the game, heres the renamed patch. just pop it in your main directory and you can use f5 - f7 to activate cheats. f5 disables battle animations, f6 speeds up movement, and f7 sets enemy troops to 2 (the important one for cheating battles)

Anyone knows how to recruit Lamentia? I thought taking the castle was good enough. Is there a mission I have to do? Or is it a bug from the english patch?

I figure it out, I kept skipping through text and found out this game is NTR

Leane 1 TL!!! YATTA!!! We are so back. Hopefully Dungeon and Bride releases and gets a TL soon too, so I can have a Makura Cover Soft marathon.

Do you want an actual answer to this question? It's because this kind of pornography appeals to people who don't self-insert as the protagonist and either enjoy or are turned on by moral degradation or other similar themes that accompany NTR. There's a whole world of opinions and kinks out there that don't appeal and apply to you with a market for it.

Not everyone wants to insert as a tofu dudebro who executes virgin missionary sex with fawning maidens.

If it's such a problem for you, then use the tag system to filter out NTR.

Naw dude, the people who are the most into this game are self-inserting to the protagonist. Lemme cook on this, I'm passionate about NTR game design.

The best NTR games require both male-perspective and not being shown everything happening to the girl. The anxiety, suspense, mystery and intrigue of what is happening to them, alongside to looming sword of damocles of having them taken, are what makes the games so exciting. There's a lot of lame NTR games where you just play as a girl with a boyfriend and get corrupted, and plenty of people who aren't deeply into NTR can appreciate them like any other corruption game, but there's not so many great games like Leane that capture the uncertainty, mystery and despair of NTR so well. Having difficult but avoidable NTR can be a lot of fun, as it adds great stakes to the gameplay. One of the few types of h-games where you actually want to avoid the defeat h-scenes, at least on a first playthrough. Getting into the role of the protagonist, growing attached to the girls and trying your best to protect them, often to massive failure, now that's the good stuff. And it's great that Makura Cover Soft games never give you much more info than the protagonist can canonically access. If you've really got an empathetic mind, I suppose you can get similar vibes in a female-perspective game, where you imagine having a strong attachment to your boyfriend and don't want to grow unfaithful to them, but I can't imagine it.

I can only speak personally on this matter, but I think a lot of the people who are most into netorare are either non-monogamous, big voyeurs, enjoy this as a roleplaying exercise and like seeing the corruption of the heroine, and/or perhaps have given up on normal love and cope by being aroused as an external party. I myself am very non-monogamous, voyeuristic person and find myself more aroused by eroticism as an intellectual/emotional concept than by the idea of participating in it. It is exciting to see a character I've grown attached to in lewd situations, and its made more exciting by being an outside party, and by not knowing all the information. Gets the imagination flowing.

Interestingly, researchers have shown that dopamine is mainly released through the anticipation of a reward, rather than actually getting the reward. The intensity of the positive feelings are increased both by the desirability of the reward, as well as the uncertainty. The strongest feelings will be elicited if you truly can't tell whether something really great will come to you, or if it will be lost. Though I guess the chance of loss, versus just not getting the reward, might only increase the pleasure for certain sorts of people. This gameplay in which your relationships hang in the balance of your decisions and the whims of your rivals can be very exciting if you can get into the role, get aroused as an observer, and aren't too sensitive about fictional consequences.

You can see in some ratings that this is a more niche perspective. For many, they do not see the avoidance of NTR scenes as a reward for good gameplay, but rather missing out on the reward. People might say similar things about going for a virgin run in a game. For those people, I feel they are into NTR not because they find the struggle to protect the heroine exciting in its own right, but rather they just like seeing the lewd scenes. Games like this cater especially to a deeper tier of netorare enjoyer who think of the lewd scenes as an exciting risk, as opposed to a desired goal.

I mean, what is good NTR will depend on the person. Personally, I don't like NTR on defeat, it means if I want the scenes I have to intentionally lose. But I get that for some, they want to play a game and try not to lose but have the anxiety that if they do fuck up then the NTR happens.

I much prefer NTR where you cant prevent it, it will happen even if you do everything right. In fact, It's even better when it hits you from an angle you aren't expecting. Like you are wary of the gigachad in your party but you find out the store clerk is piping the girl while you are out keeping an eye on the gigachad who always hits on her.

But it will just depend on the person, no hard and fast rules.

But I think we can all agree that people who come to a NTR game and get pissed its NTR are fuckin annoying, lol. There are more non NTR games that come out than NTR games, go play one of those bro. :WeSmart:

Yeah I'm just speculating and commenting on the type of people this game is designed for. One can explain H-scenes as punishment as "bad design" or "design built for players who want to roleplay as the character and genuinely view h-scenes as (exciting) punishment." Some people wanna slurp up all the scenes in one playthrough, some wanna avoid em and get more impacted by the ones you fail to avoid. Then maybe do a second full-degen playthrough or just view the gallery. I can find myself in both roles depending on how well the game gets me into the mindset. Makura Cover Soft games and Kegani Labs games are the ones that taught me how much I can enjoy the avoidant style of gameplay. I even approached an ordinary corruption game like Violated Princess from the avoidant angle and found it a very enjoyable way to do my first playthrough, getting into the mindset of the character who wants to remain pure. Game rewards you for it too with the ending.

I feel that many games try and fail to capture the pleasures of this avoidant gameplay style, while others design around it but fail to make it compelling, like the countless games where you just kill yourself on every enemy to see the scene because the alternative is boring. Oftentimes the deciding factor in why they suck is a lack of uncertainty. If it's too easy to win the battles, then you're never going to naturally encounter the defeat scenes except by intentionally dying, and many of these games just give you an insta-death item because they expect you to play that way. Without the risk, you're just making it more annoying to view the scenes and depriving them of their impact. Not to mention a game that's too easy is also dull. Gradual failure state can also help, such as an NTR game where lots of lewd things can happen to the girls before their virginity is lost, or they stop loving you. That way you have some leeway to fail and see something exciting without realizing the run is over and loading a save or committing to being a loser. Close calls can be very exciting, which I think this game captures somewhat well.

during that time CG & scene gallery are considered similar to achievement, its something that players need to search and collect. it was part of the "gaming" experience.

"what if we made bad decision?" or "what would happen if we lose?" players often do weird stuff like this and sometimes developer actually reward them like giving weird titles or funny jokes. of course it'd be different if the dev intentionally put all of their scenes after defeat but for leanne that isnt the case.

I'm still on the prologue. I don't have to worry yet about the units dying and losing troops right?
