It didn't even feel like that to me.

It felt like she turned up after 2 years and said "hey, fancy a fuck" and then tells him she's married.

P.S. edit for spelling error because I couldn't spell "tells" .... 5 letters baffled me.
True, I am still 50/50 on whether meeting each other at the Metro was a coincidence or not. If it’s a coincidence then maybe she just seized the opportunity to have a nostalgia fuck or now she thinks it’s possible to win James back whereas before she didn’t think that. If not a coincidence then she is plotting to get James back and that’s rather creepy.

I think her and Chris have been in contact and he just didn't tell the MC. Of course, that's just my thoughts. But, Chris knew she was going to be there, at the Metro. Which I think is why he pushed us to go. But, once again, I can't prove that. Just a feeling. Even if I'm wrong, about the whole Chris involvement, he knew she was back and should've told the MC. He didn't. That was a HUGE thing for me. Chris knew we were moving on and that bit of info NEEDED to be told, so the MC could prepare himself.

100% agree here.

Obvious reason here is the most obvious. Almost 3 years later, she has Chris' phone number? He hasn't changed numbers in that time? Or for some strange reason...she thought it be a good idea to keep it?

Honestly couldn't care less about who Steph has or has not slept with as that relationship was pretty much already over a few months after she left anyways.
Maybe that's how you would feel in real life, but the premise of the game is the MC has been in a funk since Steph left and has only started to dig out of it right at the beginning of the game. So he has only gotten over her barely a few days ago.

When you showed the render with those choices at the start of her scene, I thought to myself: "Yup, 3 choices on how we are to interact with her and not one of them is the right choice." Not because I feel there should be a "Turn around and leave" choice, but, because you left out one important choice: "Indifference".
Maybe it's just me, but I think the neutral choice is pretty close to that?

Again, I can only speak from my perspective, but the chances of me being able to forgive someone for that about as high as the possibility of me suddenly shitting gold bars.
That's fair. But only speaking from my perspective, forgiving someone is very different from hearing her out. If I were stuck in a funk for 2 years because my girlfriend suddenly disappeared and then reappears, even if I won't be able to forgive her ever, I'd still like to at least get closure by hearing her side of the story.

I don't think Chris and Steph were in contact before the day of the club. During the shopping scene in Ep2, Chris said he only saw her arriving at the airport that very same day they went to the club. No mention of any real conversation between them. Just an exchange of looks signifying they both saw each other.

Seriously? Who changes phone number on a regular basis? Even if you change cell phone carrier you can still keep the same phone number. I've had the same phone number for 20+ years. And I bet the vast majority of the people not just here but out there in the real world has the same phone number for longer than 3 years too.

Do you even remember that Steph TEXT Chris? Dear God...there's even a screenshot of it a page or two back...

I have also had the same number for 10 years. Many folk like to change every time they swap their phone. Now, care to reply to my second point on that which you conveniently ommitted to comment on?

I thought she texted him that after seeing him at the airport. Apparently she did think it was a good idea to keep his number. And given that her letter suggests she always planned to come back....that seems entirely consistent. So I'm with Cabin fever on this. I don't think Chris and Steph were in contact until he saw her at the airport. But time will tell.

will definitely be, after the secrets of all the other LIs are revealed ;). God knows what dramas they'll are be hiding.
Okay to go with that idea here’s my worst case scenario for each of the LI we’ve met so far (no speculation about Holly):

Cece: she’s depressed because she was raped/molested (possibly by more than one person) in a terrible night of drinking and it has destroyed her mentally.
Lexi: she’s actually a narcissistic sociopath who likes to get the guy, torture them mentally and physically, and then toss them aside once no one else will have them.
Linda: she had a one night stand with Matt while drinking to forget the MC and now has a “love” child at home.
Robin: she only dates rich men and manipulates them into giving her money before breaking up with them.
Kira: she murdered someone and then deep fried them. She got the job at the fast food restaurant so she could dispose of them in the “chicken” nuggets.
Chris:

Agreed, that text was from after she and Chris saw each other at the airport. Not from before or from some long conspiracy/plot they were planning.

Long story short, Cabin Fever got it right.

On the day you were going to Metro, Chris were at the airport working where he saw Steph arriving. The exchanged looks, but didn't talk [as she exited the airport]. She texted him right after with the text you see in the game. As you may also notice, he never replied, and that there is no message history between them at all except that one message from Steph. She is also trying to somehow telling him she cares (in her own awkward way).

As shown in Chapter 2, Chris chose not to tell the MC before going to Metro. His main concerns spawns from my personal experience as telling someone that obviously has trouble letting go, about someone that has done him harm [by leaving unannounced] might lead to a ruined guy's night out, giving the MC more to think about than he needed right then and there. He planned to do so the next day.

Chris never knew Steph would be at Metro. Although he got the tickets rather easily (from his boss), the mainstream of people would have had a much harder time in getting them. He went there with the MC to continue working on getting the MC out of his cave. Steph was there for ... other reasons, not connected to either Chris or the MC.

...

Obviously the hate towards Chris comes from mainly if he did the right thing in not telling the MC. That is of course up to you to decide for yourself. :)

So maybe the toughs of steph being there because of lexi maybe turn out to be right .
Or is steph from some kind of rich and influential family since its not that easy to get in metro after all she was away for 2years atlest.

In the chris subject i don't have anything against him until he want a piece of any of the LI .
I dont think he maintained contact with Steph, he didn't telling mc right way about steph I could understand and maybe would do the same and just tell him the next day, why ruin a good evening in a exclusive place with his friend when he needs to be cheerful .

Just don't ruin lexi for me please drifty .

1) No I did not forget the screen shot of the text. In fact, here's exactly what Chris said just before showing that text...

Chris - Earlier that day, I was working at the airport. And I saw her.
MC - Steph?
Chris - Yeah. She just strolled down from arrivals like she owned the place. I really wanted to say something nasty to her, but then she saw me... And she got that hurt look on her face... ...you know the one. ...and for some reason, I felt sorry for her. I was going to tell you before Metro... But she sent me this. <Shows the text you claim I forgot>

Now you may read that differently, but I read that as the following chronological order:
  1. Chris was surprised to see Steph at the airport
  2. The two only exchanged looks but did not exchange a single spoken word.
  3. Steph then text Chris and asked him not to tell the MC about seeing her at the airport.
I see ZERO evidence that Chris & Steph were in touch during her absence at all. And ZERO evidence that Chris knew Steph would be at the club. Any such claim is, pardon the pun, a complete "leap of faith".

2) Firstly, your words verbatim, "He hasn't changed numbers in that time?" So by your own admission, most people, and in fact including you, do not change number in that 2-year timeframe. Secondly, if you mean Steph keeping Chris' phone number, then I have to ask - do you regularly clean out your contact list? I don't. I have people in my contact list that I haven't called in 10 years, let alone 2 years. With everything backed up and sync'd to the cloud, everything gets transferred over to a new phone automatically. No need to manually transfer and purge any contacts, ever. And I don't know of anyone regularly cleaning out the contact list neither.

Also, based on Steph's letter and her behaviour upon seeing the MC, it's clear that it has always been her intention to reconnect with the MC & by extension Chris at some point. Why would anybody in that scenario delete the contact info?

Does that answer your point? Or are you so blinded by your hatred of Steph that you are conveniently omitting that little part of the story?

Time to end this shit. Who cares what any of us think at this point? We all have our theories and what we believe. The Fors and the Againsts aren't going to change the others minds. So, Just drop it. Only Drifty knows the truth and he's not giving it out yet.

Once we all know, then we all have the right to either take Steph back, or not. But, bitching back and forth is doing more harm than good at this point.

So much theory-crafting one way or the other on the Steph situation. It's all pointless though, we aren't going to know until the game is updated with the information.

That said though, I don't want anything to do with Steph. There is no reason good enough to disappear with no word if you love someone. No, the letter doesn't count, it wasn't information, it was an apology before the fact. Pro tip: Apologizing for something you're about to do is every bit as effective as pissing straight into the wind.

Even if she thought she was saving his life, she wasn't doing anyone any favors by handling it the way she did. The way she handled it (the way the devs wrote it) was meant to cause maximum confusion and pain. That's it. It's a drama builder for the sake of the plot. In reality, she could have said anything at all, be as vague as she wanted, literally anything at all would have been better than how it was actually handled. But, in a porn game, when you want to amp up the drama, you have to have the character handle it in the most pain-inducing way possible.

The result of that is that a ton of people, me included, will want nothing to do with the character going forward.
