I just wanted to put in my general thoughts about some of the loose ends that people are commenting about. I do agree that there appear to be quite a few loose ends ... and while while there's nothing wrong with a game leaving you with questions, I don't think some of them are as loose as they appear. There's no definitive answers, but there are definitely clues.

I'll be honest, the one thing that I had to "set aside" after playing the game a few too many times was the timing. It's been 10 years since the beginning of High School, you were with Steph for almost 3 years, she left you the night of the prom, but you didn't get the money until after turning 17 and it's only been two years since she left you. I don't have THAT much of an issue setting all that aside, because the overall story is that moving to me, but even now I have to tell myself to let it go at least once per play-through.

I agree with the relative/grandfather vibe, the question is what does this character and this scene contribute to the story. What would be lost if that scene didn't happen? In my opinion nothing. Same with other secondary plotlines (the bully, the sister etc)

The story's main strength is the characters and the central idea of overcoming emotional difficulties by letting people into your life and changing your course and theirs through friendship, emotional connection, love, sex.

Too many secondary plot threads, especially if they lead to a hasty or no resolution, overcomplicate the story, without a need for it.

Same with the LIs. Too many in my opinion, which gives this nice harem vibe, but aiming at the same time to have some measure of realism, so you have to choose. This results in some girls feeling like they would be better as friends/fuckbuddys and not full-blown LIs, at least for me.

So for me the main LIs are 3:
-Steph. The ex-girlfriend, the great love lost for reasons outside of either's control, misunderstandings, mistakes. She comes back, explanations are given (even outlandish ones) and the relationship resumes. Fairly realistic, good feelings, I'm sold.
-Lexi. The fantasy, the discovery of the real person behind the celebrity, the princess and the peasant trope. A little soapy, but it works for me, it's entertaining.
-Cece, of course. The charismatic yet very troubled new person, the emotion and connection that change each other's lives. The central plot of the story. The "canon" girl if you will.

The other girls for me work way better as friends than LIs.
-Kira/Robin. The first girls the MC meets, he opens up, they have a good time, some sexy times, they help each other with their issues, and form a great friendship. This works way better for me than the throuple.
-Linda. The childhood friend/first crush. They reconnect, have some great fun, sex and conversations and help each other move on as friends. Way better for me than a couple.
-Holly. As hot as she is, she seems like an afterthought, as others have said. The temptation in Lexi's path, a porn-logic opportunity for a threesome or for Lexi not to be alone if she is not chosen. Works only as a friend(a very hot friend) for me.

Any way, sorry for the long post, just my 2 cents on this very enjoyable story.

You only get to Holly through Lexi. It's the only path that involves cheating. IIRC you need to look at every part of her during the balcony scene as well as the wall paint. And probably get her some cigarettes on the pier before going on the ship. Then in later there's a Lexi/Holly choice and you need to pick Holly for her or the throuple route with Lexi.

The old man in the park is, of course, the grandfather ... Anyone who has followed the conversation with his own father can imagine that. Probably the FBI arrested the grandfather (Arab world maybe arms dealer etc ... somewhere the father of the MC has the money) and one of his wishes in exchange for cooperation with the authorities was then probably that he may talk with his grandson. That he made mistakes with the family he admitted ... that refers to the father of the player, whom the grandfather so a bit spoiled the life.

If I remember correctly, Holly is actually more of a fan reaction than an afterthought ... I believe at some point Drifty said her becoming an actual LI was a shift in direction he made based on reactions to her. Maybe the commentary will make that more clear (exploring that as I type)

I'm curious. When the file is too large on Mega I just leave the page open and it'll resume to download after the wait time. Does this not work for you? Or can't you stay around for that long?

Had that problem too few times that Mega cuts you off while waiting or while i'm just changing my ip so i can download again. Seems Mega sucks few times if to many people want to download.

I'm not sure. But, it looks like he may be going into a witness protection type of thing. Or, maybe related to the MC's Dad?

Ugh, I keep having to restart, every time I finish a chapter, there's things I somehow miss (like contacting Lexi, but there's never any opportunity to DO that).
I suppose I'll have to find a walkthrough, but I hate doing that.

Okay, I don't know if this was an update to the Renpy player or if Drifty fixed something, but the initial release of LoF 1.0, all the animations were seriously lagging on my computer. However, playing in Drifty's Walkthrough edition the animations are smooth again (For example, the lighted butt parade couldn't even make it to red and blue while lagging, and all the rest were similarly borked)

Anyway, just something else I'm happy about.

I just played the game from start to finish on CeCe's path.....
Wow, just wow. This is some serious writing, what a story. Never thought that a VN could be so inspiring and profound.
This game has it all, characters that feel real, look real, have real recognizable struggles.
DriftyGames I am hoping to see more games like this one.

The writing in this is pretty great but he can clearly up his rendering, lighting and scene composition. Summer's Gone has spoiled me pretty hard as far as that goes and stepping down a few notches to this was not exactly pleasant. The story and progression makes up for it to a certain degree. Looking forward to the next project.

Great, i also had a hard time playing because of this animation lagging. The only bad thing about this release. Good to know seems fixed.

That's what I did.

Choose Lexi in Ch4 (It all starts here). DONE
Always choose Holy choices that increase her relp (you'll need 23+ Relp for her). DONE got 25
Get the threesome going on the yacht, and select the choice I already described. And here it doesn't go any further, I can't unlock the threesome.
At the prom event choose to tell her you have no regrets.
You'll know when the split for Lexi/Holly or HollySolo happens... you don't need me for that.

After meeting Holly outside at Lexi's in Chapter 5, her path is closed.
