This guy puzzled us too. We expected to find an explanation for his presence and the meaning of his remarks, but we finally concluded that it is about a guy facing an unavoidable situation, and seeing the Mc in conflict in his thoughts, gave him some advice metaphorically, to help him find answers in a way.
There is another guy for whom we didn't understand the presence. The one who seemed to spy on the Mc from afar when he was at Lexi's mansion in Los Angeles. The guy looked like a soldier or a mercenary

Iirc that guy works with Steph, if you don't bring her with you to Lexi's, she appears on the background in that scene escorting the old man.

She is also the one spying on MC if you left her at the bar

In the commentary track Drifty explains that not telling everyone's backstory and what happens to them in the future or everyone's connection to everyone else is on purpose. The story is a snapshot of an extraordinary summer in the lives of all these people. HOWEVER, he also acknowledges there are plenty of clues to be had, and anyone that thought that the old man in the park "shared some DNA with the MC" would be very much on the right track.

Also, pretty sure the big guy in the tree and escorting the old man is Melvin. As stated, if you're heartless enough to leave Steph behind (or went for that last Steam achievement) It's Steph in the tree instead of big guy, and she's there when the old man is getting in the van.

EDIT: Also, if you leave her behind, she answers the call she ignores if she joins you, so you kinda know she's back with Homeland anyway.

Apparently that's unlikely. This game was as much a catharsis for Drifty as it was his debut into AVNs. On the other hand, canonically it is at least slightly connected to the new game u4ia, so it's possible that a return of the HomeIand agents we know may show up.

As far as Steph not revealing the mystery, if she goes with you she doesn't know that you're still being watched (at least, not BEFORE she gets back in the game). She doesn't appear to notice she's being watched if you choose her, and she's not there in the park to see anything, so until you meet her again in LA, the only time she could have found out anything is the time between leaving Lexi's and meeting you at Homecoming (i don't actually remember if she has another appointment if she's back with you at that point ... I think she mentions something about unfinished business with Homeland if she's not, but ...). Either way, unless she's "back in the fold" she's still probably not trusted when it comes to the MC, so would unlikely be told the surveillance is ongoing. And if you reject her completely, you never see her again.

Okay, my brain is starting to make fractals of all this. Time to ignore posts for at least an hour ...

Ok, so I've finished the game and have played through the Lexi, Holly, Lexi and Holly, Linda and Cece paths. My clicking finger got too worn out retracing steps to complete those lines and I had to stop before completing the Steph and Kira/Robin lines, but I will. I loved the game, enjoyed the writing and the humor and would recommend it to anyone. Having said that, I have two things:

1) I really liked the Cece character, and I can understand the flawed nature being appealing, but for the life of me I don't get the fanatical love that seems to follow her around and don't understand what the people see in her that would have her topping out the brackets of that mibsmeebe thing over the current universe of AVN women. Granted, I'm not sure if that poll was a representative sample or not and there may have been some voting irregularities on it based on some of the BaDik comments, but whatever. I liked every single one of the characters in this game, but she wasn't even my favorite in this game, not the funniest or the prettiest (understanding this is very subjective) even though she is arguably THE central character. There is obviously a depth to her that is uncommon in AVNs. I feel like I'm just not seeing something that other people see. I'm sincerely hoping that some of you guys in this thread who are likely the most invested can tell me what you see for a different perspective.

2) How could Samantha not have been called Leticia? I mean, c'mon...

2) Most people who played from before Chapter 6 were shocked by the revelation there, but they also had been following Drifty for a while. Once the reveal happened, he started talking about it in Discord, Patreon, etc. Not a lot, but enough for the fans to link Cece to "C" ... something that adds another layer to the feelings of attachment to her.

And after the Drifty DLC came out, they got more of his thought process and feelings while creating LoF, adding another layer of emotional attachment.

Just a guess (And not sure this applies to Kazanovaromeo) on my part, but I think all this influences my feelings on the matter.

OK, and thanks for your answer. I'm not going to try to equate mental issues, because obviously Cece is a much different animal than Lexi, but couldn't what you said in 1) equate to her as well? Pretty but not perfect, innocent and sheltered from life and men beyond her career, but aware of stuff (particularly through Holly's influence), fearful of men and relationships, fearful of being in public, etc. I found myself comparing the two throughout the game and finding them to be similar characters in many respects, albeit with a difference in degree with Cece, obviously. I still think I'm missing an intangible that you guys see. Maybe I'll never get it.

Thank you very much for your analysis which could help ppl to focus and check but it is not apply to me cause :
1) NO One is perfect man , just tell me who in all the girls in the game is perfect and we can discuss it .
2) I do not know about Drifty issue at all untill you said it from some time ago to prevent insultig her if you remember and that is after I play her route many times and I do not know what DLC.

Another part is that Cece just feels more real than other AVN characters. I don’t know much about mental illness, but many people have mentioned how authentically every aspect of her illness was handled.

CeCe also never acts like a character in a porn movie. She is in no throuple and doesn’t have an instant overwhelming attraction to the MC. Her initial desire to help him applies to everyone else she meets as well. In contrast, Lexi’s invitation for 6 strangers to stay at her house for a week doesn’t ring as true.

Finally, she is goofy and attractive and both a leader and totally lost. There is *so much* there, like a complete person that you know really well, not ”the funny one“ or ”the mean one” or ”the dumb one.”

As Elhemeer has just said, there is on the one hand a very beautiful young woman, but who is not perfect, either physically or in terms of her character traits.
But to speak of perfection, we must then speak of the standard criteria of society, which is very insignificant for each individual when it comes to affective relationships. What we like or dislike in a person is very suggestive and personal. So in addition to the beautiful shapes of his body, her pretty face and his expressions, she's a complex, charismatic character with very bright and playful sides for a moment, which becomes very dark and moody the next moment. This makes her mysterious, which arouses curiosity at first, she is cold in appearance at first sight, but once past the first layers of her protective shell, we discover a hypersensitive young woman who struggles daily in the greatest loneliness, which calls for a deep empathy that makes you want to help.
Then, having already expressed myself on this subject, I will make it short. What makes this character particularly endearing from my point of view is on the one hand what Cece represents for Drifty, and on the other hand the similarities of an event that I experienced with my little sister, which makes this character even more endearing.
