I suppose the other advantages to Steam is that it's one-time purchase instead of subscription based. Perhaps he's just moving away from subscription based models in general. So perhaps it's not entirely because of the incest stuff.
And subscribestar is pretty shit for users and for devs (I've never spoken to a single one that thought it was helpful), so the latest update might just be the perfect time to make the move.
While Jamie is a nepo baby, the story reinforces her exceptional ability. Yes, one could argue that Jamie clerked for circuit and SC judges after graduation because she's a Carrington. However, the story clearly indicates she likely got those roles because of her exceptional ability - top of her class at Harvard and wrote an opinion less than two years out of law school that will probably be adopted as a standard by the courts.
iirc in one of his older updates he broke down the financials of the game, he basically loses money, so he's got a story to tell but it's a side project If he plans to slow down dev but "eventually finish the game", he may not want people to throw money at him on a monthly basis.
I'm not sure it's really the same thing in this story's scenario, since they didn't find out their relation until after the act. Monk said he wasn't going to make the story about kinks, so that tells me that this event will be a one-time "mistake", or the test results were flawed/falsified.
