That's from earlier in the episode at the bar I believe, not the cliff-hanger ending. It did end up having a double meaning though huh? Please put that image in a spoiler, as that is a major spoiler....
Completely disagree with you there. It's all in the execution, not otherwise we wouldn't have a story. Events don't need to happen in a set way, that is terrible storytelling. (See JJ Abrams movies)Honestly, that's like saying Jamie and Rockford should've simply fucked their repressed desires out of each other during their first office meet early in Ch 1. But that's not how good story-telling works, and neither are your suggestions considering the AVN is only at the halfway stage. If the two were already in a relationship, then the choice would simply be does Rockford move across the country to be with Jamie? Where's the drama and tension in that? Also, Jamie's sudden decision plays directly into the story arc surrounding the MC's abandonment issues. Regarding your point 6, that's EXACTLY what Rockford did in that scene.
I hope you don't write for TV. A potential multi-season series would be concluded after the first episode.![]()
no , he's right , my badThat's from earlier in the episode at the bar I believe, not the cliff-hanger ending. It did end up having a double meaning though huh?![]()
Dual path is only possible
Yeah I get it. It does surprise me though that some people look through the discussion thread before playing a game. I only tend to do that after I've finished playing it, when the usual long wait for an update begins. The most I will do before playing is look at the tags, overview and a few reviews. To be fair, don't forget that not everyone is at the same point in their playthrough.
I have only just discovered this game, so it would be a spoiler to me. Quite literally any information is potentially a spoiler to me!
Of course I just won't look at it, but that's not always an option. Can't unsee stuff we didn't intend to see.
I still think this is all fake (like the incest tag here) lol, i simply cant imagine Carrington being either misinformed about this or being caught in such a simple and stupid lie. He knows about the case and everything what happened (from jamie
Ha ha, yeah but don't forget that "common sense" is an oxymoron.Yeah I get it. It does surprise me though that some people look through the discussion thread before playing a game. Looking through a discussion thread is playing with fire when it comes to spoilers.
Sometimes I look through a thread in case of bugs, gauging general interest, or seeing how active it is. Tags are so easy to be misled. I've had to suffer through a spoiler or two but generally spoilers don't bother me.Yeah I get it. It does surprise me though that some people look through the discussion thread before playing a game. I'm the same, spoilers don't bother me or take away any enjoyment, so I usually read threads before starting or playing updates, because I don't trust tags or reviews. People can say any sort of crap in reviews without comment. But if they put that same stuff in a thread, they get jumped on if it's wrong.Sometimes I look through a thread in case of bugs, gauging general interest, or seeing how active it is. Point 6: Rockford calls her his "little sis." That is a CLEAR signal from him to Jamie that the relationship will not move beyond the status quo. And, yes, that was also part of his fake smile, everything's OK self-defence that masks how he really feels.Completely disagree with you there. It's all in the execution, not otherwise we wouldn't have a story. Events don't need to happen in a set way, that is terrible storytelling. (See JJ Abrams movies)
You can create drama and tension in the scenarios I sketched too. The source of the drama would shift, questions like "can they make it work?", what will the roadblocks and potential pitfalls be if we change the environment. Things of that nature, outside of the traditional "will they, won't they" story beats.
Just for clarity, I am quite literally perfectly fine with the way it was handled in the story. I just don't want to pretend this was the only option.
Regarding point 6, no he didn't do that. He deflected in a semi-traditional Rockford sense. He didn't talk to her about their options.
I tend to agree with you, not only because it screws the Emmeline LI path. I think it's part of a bait & switch. Only Impious Monk knows for sure, but he left clues as to the probable answer.I still think this is all fake (like the incest tag here) lol, i simply cant imagine Carrington being either misinformed about this or being caught in such a simple and stupid lie. He knows about the case and everything what happened (from jamie) and has to be aware of the DNA test (even if not he has to be aware of the possibility) and how easily this lie would be exposed.
There was no reason for a lie like that for Carrington knowing how easily it is exposed and that the mc kinda owes him anyway and EVEN LESS if he wants to keep the whole Solomon hobbs thing concealed. It doesnt add up.
I replayed the meeting with Jamison after our last talk about this and you mentioning his reaction when the MC's mentions his mother. But what was more interesting to me was that Jamison is the one who reveals Rockford having a sister in a care facility. There would be no reason to do that if he would be aware of being the father of the MC himself or his behavior would just be ... very strange.
So my conclusion is IF he is the father, he has to be unaware of that fact.
Naahhhh fuck that, thats all fake, crazy hobbs is still the daddy.
Edit: by the way - jamie is my favorite - but i was VERY disappointed in her behavior and im not talking about her chosing the job for now, i can understand that and even think it makes her a stronger character. BUT that she disclosed all the information the MC gave her including very personal stuff about his dad - knowng how closed off the MC is - left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Thanks to her, Carrington was prepared way better for the meeting than Rockford
About 1) I think so too but now Monk liked my theory and i started overthinking, would he really give it a like if its right?I tend to agree with you, not only because it screws the Emmeline LI path. I think it's part of a bait & switch. Only Impious Monk knows for sure, but he left clues as to the probable answer.
Here's the evidence [take of it what you will]:

Regarding Jamie: did she really tell her father everything? Did she admit to it? Does it play out differently if the player has Rockford not share stuff with her? It was Senator Carrington that gave Rockford the Hobbs file in the first place. For all we know, everything else came from information on the case obtained during the break-in. I will have to play the "tell Jamie as little as possible"route to see if the Senator Carrington conversations play out any differently.
