Glad you're enjoying the story overall! I am a little disappointed with this take, though.

I'd been trying to set Jamie up as a very ambitious person. In each of Episodes One through Three there is a discussion about her goals going beyond just working in the District Attorney's Office. Yes, she does protest when asked and says she's happy for now being a DA. But she admits that she wants to be a federal judge, which I personally consider a very, very ambitious goal. She's even already applied to take on a second job as a law professor at a local law school, showing both her interest in teaching and, again, her ambition. In addition, her past job history clerking for a federal court of appeals and clerking for a United States Supreme Court justice are only things that an ambitious person would do. Even just the fact that she went to Harvard Law School is consistent with having ambition.

But I guess the problem here is that I didn't do a good job of explaining why these facts are relevant to showing her ambition. Most players aren't going to understand, for example, what it means to be clerk for the court of appeals or the supreme court. So that's my fault.

I do agree that she's leaving at a really hard time for the MC. But I think that actually makes her a much more interesting character. She understands that this is hard for the MC and she's really torn up about it because the job at Harvard is a once in a lifetime opportunity and she really wants it. But she also truly loves the MC. This is a very difficult conflict for her.

I do want my characters to feel real and to have their own hopes and ambitions outside of their relationship with the MC, even if that comes at the cost of that character's "likeability." The fact that we can't have everything we want in life sometimes will lead to hard choices. And hard choices are always going to make for good storytelling.
This is what I haven't understood about some of the comments in this thread. I think you've very clearly communicated (at least to a native English-speaking audience) Jamie's career ambition, her complex relationship with Rockford, the nature and urgency of the unexpected once-in-a-lifetime job offer, and her very conflicted emotions over moving away from Rockford. Perhaps the reaction is because you didn't fall in line with the typical AVN fairy tale trope where a LI only exists to the benefit of the MC at every turn.

Rockford is many things, but he's not a narcissist (at least not yet). Expecting Jamie to drop everything for the sake of Rockford reeks of narcissism - she's her own woman with her own life to live, not Rockford's wet nurse. Yes. Rockford has been in a fragile mental state, but he's a 30-year old adult who ultimately only has himself to blame for where his relationships - both past and present - are at.

Kinda glad I don't hold a candle for Jamie. I think she's attractive but I'm more than happy with her current role in the MC's life. I don't know where people get that she isn't ambitious. She has had a career plan in mind the entire story and has been taking steps on it, the job offer is just a detour/fast tracking.
I think romantically the MC fits better with Malena or Aghavni. Malena because it's two "broken" people trying to help each other and that tends to come with a side of passion. Aghavni because it's basically a redemption story. She had to let him go to protect herself since she never saw him changing and now that he is, it's rooting for him to be successful.
Emmeline, I'm just indifferent to. She's nice and I don't want anything bad to happen to her but outside of that, meh.

dang

since my conversation with Krytax123
this lines stuck in my head

jac "He's an idealist."
scene 4-13-d71 with dissolve
jac "That police officer was too influential on him."

let me go wild here :
could that -really far fetched - mean , the senator knew all the time about the mc?
the foster families , the time on the streets , the take in to Luis family?
how did they (mc/carringtons) met again?
maybe just my wild imagination, ist it?

Yes, Carrington already knew the MC for quite some time at this point.

MC mentions how he though about jamie and trevor (his friends) and possibly asking them for help but not doing it when he was on the street and considered suicide.

But i dont really remember if it was mentioned how they met either atm

trevor is mentioned after the aghvani talk in ep4
i didnt let her come over to "let her help"
(up4 4_4 part is complete out of the picture if you dont let her "help")

He met Jamie when he was 14 and Jamie was 6, not sure if he met trevor earlier but probably not by much.

But i think its very probable that Carrington knew MC since he was born threw his father

Ok.. So I've been bawling my outs for some time now, while playing Leaving DNA... What a fucking gutter punch after gutter punch. Absolutely amazing job done by "Impious Monk" and his crew if there are any.
--

The ending of the 3rd ep and the whole of 4th is just peak. I haven't FELT anything like this since Acting Lessons and Leap of faith. But while Acting Lessons was just bitter shocking heartwrenching kinda saddness that left me kinda empty.. Leap of faith and Leaving DNA just have that kinda next level empatethic(fi that is the correct word) of writing. I am genuinely crying while reading the dialogue and story in general.

The MC seems like a major dumbass, making dumb decisions left and right. Like he has no common sense at all. I know he has hurt in the past, but that doesn't excuse his stupidity about what he is doing. Very aggravating.

Also he met Jamie + Brother when he was 14, but ran away from foster when he was 16 and became homeless? But yet, Jamie's parents paid for him to go to school etc. Seems like an inconsistency to me.

Is the incest real here? Who is it with? I saw that there are only monogamous paths and I don't want to get stuck so if someone can send me a DM to clarify I would appreciate it.

most likely a case of sabotage by whoever the mistery man is, pulling the strings behind the curtains.. but if it happens that robert really is mc's father, than at most em is his ster sister, no way in hell they share the same mother as well.. but I highly doubt that rob is his father either

I followed the WT to the absolute precision but this is still blanked out:

The only prerequisite for that option is that you had sex with Aghavni in Episode Two. I just tried it myself following the walkthrough and the option was available for me. Either you missed a step or there's an issue with the mod you're using. Maybe try it out with the base game and see if it unlocks.
