yeah, its not important, rpgmv is "good enough" and its made to create a sense of "time", when traveling around, its not meant to be something extraordinary, graphic wise, combat, etc. but just a "connect the dot and a feel of time", the importance is the scenes itself, good story, writing, renders and eroticism.
sure, map editing is a bit important, to make it feel homey, but rpgmv has good enough tiles for that and its graphic is ok.
the isometric 3d feel I got from the demo is not making it better at all. maybe looks a bit better, since its 3D, but nothing else. I dont feel closer to the female character, but more distant. and the textbox and choices feels mechanic.

For my understanding, this release was more a teaser and a test of the engine. And not a "real" update.
I quiet enjoyed the little demo with the engine. As far as I know, we only have two scenes. One for working and one sauna scene. Guess we have to wait for March, guys. So let's chill!
btw I really liked the working corrupting scene, GameBear!

played the demo and for me its a step to the worse.
sure 3D, but whats the point? the importance is the scenes, not the "in-between", the in-between will always be tiresome, if used rpgmv or real engine, unity or whatever. I play to unlock the erotic scenes, not to be impressed by the "in-between".
so, its a demo for sure. its not worth playing it since theres no story, just scenes that I can view, without any "progress".
the rpgmv version is better.
That`s pretty sad what you say here, this is more then just some "porn" to consume it`s a real game for itself into my eyes.
Without work there is no earn in it. This update will attract so many more players, only because of the mayor improvement in graphics.

It is Eyes Candy and will motivate me much more to stay online then the old 2D look, which became really fast boring for my eyes.

So i really enjoy the slow progressing and i can appreciate the extra work, and not only skipping from one X scene to another, there are way to many of such games out there already.

This Update on the village reflects the astonishing work that went into the seductive storytelling and art of the Main Characters.

Now the Village fits with the rest great work!

Demo did not impress. Sorry, but I feel the switch to Unreal is not warranted. Maybe I'll be proved wrong in the future, but as of the moment, I feel it is a colossal waste of time. I'll try to be patient if this is the direction the dev wants to travel, but I think he would be wiser to finish what he started with the rpgmv engine, and create a different game with the unreal.

GameBear Do I need to start a new game because of all the new system being add in this update or can still use to old saves to continue like normal?
I'm not sure what version you're talking about. If you mean the LV[v0.2-demo] one, then it doesn't matter. It's developed with the more complex game engine and old RPGM saves will be incompatible. Basically, it's only a demo version to demonstrate the game changes I'm working on and implemented systems. I was reluctant to post it here as it contains a very small amount of content and some contents will be improved when RPGM content is migrated. :)

The look is nice and almost timeless. I like the working scene but it all escalates to quick .where is the corruption part? It´s good that you can finally skip time while outside ^^.

Well seeing that this game is going from RPGM to unreal its time to put the toe tag on it at least for me playing it or even acknowledging it. IMO it is a bad move as not everyone can run it much less the desire to deal with it was fun while it lasted

Thanks a lot for your words. I really appreciate your understanding.

It's indeed just a demo version and I was reluctant to post a link to it. It has only a small amount of content and given how rarely people read release notes I kinda expected a shitstorm to happen.
As I stated earlier, this game is my hobby and hobby should be fun and enjoyable. I enjoy coding down game systems in C++ as much as I enjoy rendering scenes and writing scene scripts. At some point, I got frustrated with RPGM limitations. It's not a bad game engine, it just wasn't good enough for me. I'm enjoying every minute of game development in UE4. Not mentioning the amount of new stuff I had to learn and experiment with, which lets me improve as a developer.

From the developer's perspective, I can only tell that once the framework is set up it actually easier to add new content to the game as I have the freedom of utilizing or creating proper data structures and objects. Anyway, the migration process is going ahead of schedule and I hope you enjoy the public version once it's released (which is going to happen in the middle of March).

yeah, maybe I was a bit harsh about it. if he started like this originally, I wouldn't say anything. but as many already posted, it doesnt feel needed for the story itself. the old one was good enough.
I will give it a chance, when we have a first real chapter out, maybe it will feel better, when u can roam around and theres a progression with the story.
still I found the engine to eat up the cpu, when I played with my mini computer (with my desktop computer theres no issues) while rpgmv, did not demand as much (even rpgmv is a cpu eater) and that for me is also important.

Not a big fan of the engine switch. A brunette girl with a blond hunchback blocky "minecraft" looking sprite...

But the artistic decision is on the developer...what matters most is substance ...

However, my only fear, is with the transition to this new engine - updates are going to be few and far between as the dev tackles the insanity of programming (and not getting massive errors) with the unreal engine.... god speed on that endeavor i say....

My excitement for this game has now waned... disappointing

Ehrm just tried v0.2 and clicked on new game and I was directly in front of gorn's house.
First (!) Corruption scene immediately "take of your clothes and give me head"
No slow development towards corruption and I can't seem to go anywhere. So where did you see this whole village?

If you are deadset on making this engine change consider making sure that even if my character cannot move to the place I click I can still click there and the character will move as far as it can in that direction on the pathing plane. It is infuriating to have the toon stop when I accidentally click on a tree or something.
