I made the mistake of not paying too much attention so when i saw the update i assumed this update would start chapter 3 but it'd just be delayed a bit to revamp chapter 1
Edit: I also just don't really care about the revamp so this update had nothing for me its just a 5 month wait for content I'm interested in. Could be worse tho the game could be in a heros harem guild situation where id have to wait almost 2 years without even a release date.

Well, OK, I get why you're disappointed, then, if you hadn't realized that .24 was dedicated to the rewrite.
FWIW, I've been playing it since it came out an hour and a half ago and I'm really enjoying it. Even the events which aren't "new" events feel really dramatically changed. The opening sequence is really different (in a good way), and I just got to The Room With Clocks and it's fucking wild. Give it a try, it doesn't progress the plot past the end of chapter 2 but it is super engaging. You don't even need to restart the game for it, if you're caught up you can just use replays to look at the events directly.

I'll probably try it but beginnings to games like this are always a slog to get through for me
Edit: Also for me story heavy games are hard to replay since I basically already know what's gonna happen. there may be some things changed or that I don't remember but its most likely nothing too important. It's not like there's some gameplay loop its just a story I already know and some porn .
You know hero's harem guild is abandonware, right? That will never be updated.
Several of the characters affected by the remake had events totally removed from canon and placed into the deleted scenes section on the PC in the room during weekends and with those removed events came new events to replace them. This was a massive amount of work, so I doubt any is new in terms of proceeding beyond the point the last events ends at.
You don't have to start over unless you want to, saves are entirely compatible.Oh my god, I missed the event (which was in chapter 1, and I moved to the second and save there) and now start over?!
To be honest, as anticipated as this release has been, I'm surprised it wasn't an instant leak.
I mean, he remade over 170 events, that's a massive amount of work and it even took longer that first expected, nobody should be expecting actual new events as in continuing from where 0.23.0 left off with what he went through. If anything, new events that continue the story from where it left off would be a surprising bonus.
Not if the story gets changed and this is one of the most unpredictable games on this site. People have been trying to predict where it would go since day one, including myself, and I have yet to see anyone, again including myself, get it entirely right.
There is no confirmation of that, yet.

I've never tried it as I am too careful not to risk the day they eventually get wise and start tracking accounts' time limits to prevent this, but I have heard using a VPN and switching your connection or resetting your router, as long as it does not have a fixed IP, will also reset the timer so that MEGA becomes viable beyond 5GB.

Ah yes... let's install a VPN and do some setting and stuff, instead of just... use Google Drive, or Mediafire.

Hey, good effort, I'm just not a nut that can be cracked. Also, to be honest, I don't even have the files myself yet. I literally woke up only three hours after it went up and needed time to wake up before getting into it.
I just downloaded from Google Drive and didn't have a problem.
I just used Mediafire, it works extremely well even at the size this game is.

1. Create an account on mega.nz
2. Download and install MEGAsync client.
3. Insert the link to the desired file to the MEGAsync client.
4. When the 4GB limit is over - go to System Tray and close the client.
It is necessary to close the client, otherwise the limit can last much longer (10 or more hours).
5. Wait for 1 hour (a little more), start the MEGAsync client, and he will continue downloading to the next 4GB.
Mega is much better than other hosting, since the download speed is 2-3 times faster than the network throughput. How they achieve this - I have no idea (perhaps super compression is used).
Links to Google Drive die very quickly, so it can not be considered at all for storing files that are downloaded by a large number of people.
