I'm pretty sure "Divinity" here is a euphemism to Innocence, given she was a child when they got involved...
Not disagreeing with anything you said -- there is definitely a metaphorical component to all this.

But I'm getting strong "also literal' vibes from it.

This certainly could just all be manifestations of Sensei's guilt over the things he's done, but he wasn't in the room when Maya faced her fears, and her experience was remarkably similar to what he experiences in the happy scenes. Then you have shit like Yasu speaking in tongues, and yeah. I think there's also a literal component to all of this. Maya might be an angel who fell to earth, like in Wings of Desire or City of Angels.

jeez i guess that’s why it never rains in kumon-mi
I mean, if this world was created for/by him (as some scenes seem to suggest), who would want to be reminded of the girl you love getting hammered by your brother in the room next door :ROFLMAO:

But I'm getting strong "also literal' vibes from it.
Well, yes :ROFLMAO:
For now we can assume everything,
like all of it being a "dream" (like that stoner theory that the world is just someone's imagination) and Sensei is in coma after a suicide attempt,
an Isekai,
a simulation,
a game that create consciousness,
a purgatory/afterlife...

How this "World" works still a mystery ;)

I mean, that would be logical since from what we have seen on happy events, Sensei backstory is pretty much a tale of how much child abuse can fuck up a person's mind.
He got "seduced" when he was a child (by his teacher Sekai) and did the same to Maya, under the same circunstasses (Teacher-Student relationship).
Probably he felt so guilty the his mind snapped

About that...
I also think that this passage from the last happy event shows that even though he was manipulated in this "relationship", and maybe even knew that was wrong, he loved Sekai and felt jealous about her relationship with his brother (that's probably how Maya feels too).

sev "It’s raining outside. "
sev "You are watching the water droplets dance down the window as a series of noises assault you from both sides."
sev "On your left, the sound of a stereo’s static screaming- no. Singing to your senses."
sev "Ssssssssssssssssssssss~"
sev "To your right, the repeated clacking of a headboard as it slams against the wall, chipping away at soft white paint you helped spread yourself."
sev "You did it together."
sev "But it is not your headboard that clack-clacks today. It is the headboard of someone else. "
sev "Someone else taking the one thing you love as you are forced to sit there and pretend you don’t know it."
sev "Is it easy playing tricks on yourself?"
sev "Were you ever able to laugh?"
sev "Can you laugh today?"

sev "Or do you still pretend it never rains at all?"

That some fucked up shit right there :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I was quite impressed during that part as well; I was fully anticipating some dumb stuff like "To your right, kkkkkkkkkkkkkk", but what we got was even more screwed up (or maybe this part of the memory is the meaning of what kkkkkkkkk means?). Also, after going through the event again, the entire scene of Sensei having sex with long Maya seems to unnervingly resemble his past "interaction" with Sekai (a taller female with a Sensei that behaves like a child). I also find tall Maya quite attractive TBH and understand that I need help lol.

But yes, after this scene, it's probably true that Sensei had some level of love toward Sekai despite how much manipulation there might be. I think this part of memory even took place AFTER Sensei started having sex with Sekai, suggested by But it is not your headboard that clack-clacks today (so sometimes it is yours that clacks?).

It's the exact moment he realizes that what he has with Sekai isn't special to her. It's just sex. She was using him.

It's the moment he starts to view sex partners as verbal onaholes.

It's the moment he transforms from prey to predator, because the only way to numb the pain he's feeling is to feel nothing at all.

The way he describes the memories of Sekai that he does have illustrates that he still has a somewhat idealized vision of her from their time together. The way he remembers the smell of her hair when Ami uses the same kind of shampoo, for example, drives this home. But this recontextualizes all of that. It's bittersweet for him, because it was all in his head. She never loved him, she just used him.

Haven't been able to start Osako's last event because I keep getting the message "I don't think I should visit Maki right now..." every time I try to visit the porn shop. I've finished every other event in the game and Osako is at 20 affection, I'm pretty sure I've met every requirement yet I still can't visit the shop any day of the week :HideThePain:

Pretty sure you must be missing Maki's final event. Invite her over on a Sunday.

Anyone else watched Red vs Blue, seasons 9 and 10? Cause as I'm playing the beginning, I'm picking up major Carolina or CT vibes from Yumi.

You mean Baby Steps? Nope, all of her events are completed. Right now I can't call, invite, or go to her shop at any time of day of the week. Haven't messed with the save file.

Maki should become available like normal after that event. Your save is bugged somehow.

Yeah, I just checked the script and the makiblock variable gets set back to false after Makoto's final event, the thing in the classroom. So there's no way you can have done Baby Steps but still be blocked from Maki unless something somewhere has gone horribly wrong.

Use the console/a save editor to change that variable or post your save here and get someone to fix it.

I'll give that a shot, thanks. It's weird because I could do events in the new update that require Baby Steps to be seen yet the flag wasn't reset for some reason.

So I'm in the first halloween chain, and I'm at the haruka and maki threesome scene. It was great until Haruka called me Rin and I suddenly remembered what I set her lust name as

And it got me thinking what if I'd set it to Makoto and Haruka called me that in front of Maki :WeSmart:

Something weird about that scene is that, it's probably the only titillating threesome scene in the game right? All the others seem to be done for the purpose of making the player feel uncomfortable.

...well, making the player feel uncomfortable kinda seems like the primary focus of this game but the point still stands.

Edit: Also, does anyone know what is up with the big bulging red eyes that Ami ocasionally gets in some scenes? Is it meant to signify something?

Is it meant to signify something? Yes.

Exactly what it means has, so far, been left to interpretation. At a minimum, it's a hint that she's not a normal teenage girl.

Either she's another Terminal and the eye change is an indicator that a different user has logged in, or she's temporarily dropping a mask and those are her true eyes.
