If you are one of his patreons and feel you are being milked, you have every right to complain -- on Patreon since that is an issue for that web site to address. If, on the other hand you are getting the game for free on this site, why are you acting like you know how others feel about this developer?Got a feeling this game may be ending/abandoned soon. No proof, pure speculation. But the way it took so long to finally do the deed is not necessarily unique compared to some other devs but definitely telling. He could easily finish the game now in the next update. Reminds me of the situation with the game Two Weeks where the dev ran out of ideas (on how to milk his patreons) so he rushed the ending.
Your "feeling" that the game may be abandoned has as much basis in reality as the idea the sun revolves around the earth -- no substantial evidentiary support. As far as ending: if the dev chooses to end it with the next update, that's the dev's business. They've done the deed and while it may be a disappointing end, the rescue boat can now go pick them up. The chemical additives in the booze are proven to work in controlled situations.
Have a little patience, the world is in chaos at the moment and there may be things in the dev's life that matter more than this game, as there is with many.
