The marketing strategy is working perfectly. He saw how mrdots, was milking his patreons for ages, almost solely based on that character model. He saw how people were idiots and thought, he too could do just that, but way worse... and it worked. The only story telling in this game, is basicly what has not happened on the island, because the game itself is dead. The erotic "content" is not a factor, but the underlying promise of erotic content is the only driving force I can consceive for his modest patreon success. People proving themselves to be fools.

Well, decisions comes down to good choices and bad choices and have consequences. If you din't go peek, and read the lengthy description of that pamphlet, you would understand the consequence of go peeking.
It's not totally true. On the night they drunk together, she gave him a handjob and a blow job. Also with the latest update, when you peek on her, she's doing the same (it's a dead end).
I agree with the people who critize her suicidal tendecies. It's really annoying, but at the same she's so fucking hot in the sexy scenes, i forgive the developper for the game's flaws.

You have to take it slow is the mating call of the bullshitters. When a bullshitter and a cashcow comes together they make good little cattle and the milk from the cashcow starts flowing.

Well a lot of people think adult games should be about dip the bone every 10 seconds (or less). Adult games not necessary the same as porn games either.
If you look at one of the first adult games with a GUI, such as "Leisure Suit Larry", it was an adult game, but not necessary something you would sit fap too.
This game is not about fastest way to get your rocks off, which previous versions/episodes is a good indicator of as well. I didn't do the "peek" option before after end of the episode/day. The game over left a wtf moment though.

Are you happy with this after more than a year of development? You said you forgive him... for what? He's fucking his patrons in the ass, if you are not a patron there's nothing to forgive. Should you be a patron, repentence should first be had on the abuser before any talk of forgiveness... least you want the cycle of abuse continue.

His patreon clearly state he is creating an "visual novel adult game". It doesn't state a porn game. Feel free to google the definition of both adult and porn. So out of curiosity; how much you been milked for so far?

The term adult game is a broader definition which ALSO includes porn. I have no stakes in this futility, I'm merely pointing out the bad. I didn't go to his home and invade or assault him. I critiqued his development and made fun of his patrons on an open forum on a pirate site for porn games.

You know what I find the most interesting thing about the fact that I'm the one who needs to do this walk through for people? I've never seen the suicide scenes. I didn't know they existed until someone brought them up on the forums. Because I didn't play the game like a shit head. So I never ran into the problem.

Sure, you can say porn games is under the "adult" games umbrella but not exclusive too. Adult content is based on the influenced party being mature, of age and so forth. You mean adult content should strictly be pure porn on this site and everything else not wanted or needed?
Creators of adult games, have their own narrative. If you wan't to apply your own narrative to emphasize your own agenda. You better off create your own game right?
The game found it's way to this site (and others), due to the patreons you are making fun of, maybe something to consider?

I do. You want to compare it to something? Look at it's spiritual sister game, DMD. It took until Chapter 2 until the sexual content with the Daughter took off. The only reason there is sexual content in Chapter 1 is because MrDots added other, more willing girls to do some stuff with. This is a game based on two characters. The Dream sequences have allowed for some others to be added, but in terms of looking at DMD as a comparison, this father is not any further along than the DMD father was by this point in the Dev's work.
The suicide is a little over the top, but there really isn't another acceptable "Game Over" scenario when it comes to two people stuck on an island. She can't just "Never talk to you ever again". Draw a line in the sand and claim half the island as hers. Do the scenes actually need to be shown? No, not really. It could just be a game over screen with an explanation.
People also seem to misunderstand the Sanity Meter and it's evolution. When it started, this game was about keeping her sanity intact as she came to terms with what was going on, and stopping her from panicking. The character was acting like a father. Now the Sanity Meter seems more about her rationalizing what's happening between them, and the more sanity she has, the more she easily accepts their developing relationship. I had a Sanity of 10 this entire last update, even when she was thinking about her Dad as a man, rather than her father. In previous days, that would have made her panic and driven her sanity down. This time it didn't even flinch.
What I can never understand about the people who play this game are the ones who can clearly see this game has a girl based on the DMD daughter and some how think the character is going to be sluttier than the original. I mean, look at the pictures on the main post. The only nudity is a boob. Porn games tend to have slutty scenes showing blowjobs and sex if that's how the game is going to be. This one is clearly not that.
This game is fun, cute, flirty, a little sexual but up until this point has stayed true to how it started. It's called Lewd Island, not Incest Fuckfest Island.

I don't know how much time the creator got to work on this outside whatever rl consume of time. How about you start make an adult game, and then get back to us with your progress? Red got some 350 patreons or so, nothing huge or major. Goal state if reach it will leave day job to start fulltime, but so does a lot of creators say, not necessary do it. I think a day job is more secure than indy game development.
Since when did Patreon become a business? It's a place to support creators. Not a market place to buy anything.

Yeah, but you are not the judge over what is useful or not. It's highly individual no? Also, this is not something unique to this game, or even an adult game. You take the wrong path and end up in a game over scenario. It happens in games.
