Re-Dress will be deprecated at some point. The random outfit feature of it is already a part of Dresser, and I've since made it so random and saved outfits can be applied to any permanent NPC in the room, rather than just companions. I just need to find the time to finish testing and fixing the mod up for the latest updates.

Uhm when I click on your Dresser file I get: " VirusTotal and has triggered 3 detection(s)" Sure the file is ok?

The mod contains a portable exe, which is used for the outfit saving/loading functionality. It's included because most people (Windows users) don't have Python installed on their machine. The exe which was built with PyInstaller just bundles the Python interpreter and all the necessary dependencies for those that don't want to install Python and/or figure out how to run Python scripts directly. For some reason a few of the VirusTotal vendors think the inclusion of a portable exe is suspicious, but this is just a false positive.

The Python source code is included with the mod and can be run directly if you don't trust the exe. The code in the .py file can be viewed with any text editor. If you don't care about the outfit saving/loading functionality then you can also just ignore the exe and Python files entirely.

Well with the newest version i have constantly the problem that the 'main-room' doesn't load after a action, so being stuck in the bath, livingroom etc. happens at home as well as in other places. Pretty much the only solution is to move to a other place and return afterwards...which is really frustrating.

Any sort of sex scene (porn, onlyfans, hookup) will take you back to the right room. A couple other things, too.

Ok, didn't know that watching porn and onlyfans brings you back.
Still kind of annoying compared to automatic thought.

Mod: Return to Room

For anyone that wants it, here's a "temporary" workaround for the bug causing you to get stuck in other rooms. It'll add a [RETURN] action to the PC menu (The red action tab, 2nd from the left) which will return you to the main room. This way you don't have to leave the building or use an action that'll waste time in order to get back to the main room. It'll also automatically return you to the main room after certain actions which move you to other rooms.

Installation:
Extract the zip into your Modules folder, and then activate the Return to Room mod with the in-game mod manager. Can delete it whenever the issue gets fixed.

The mod overrides the following actions from the base game, and will conflict with any other mod that also overrides the same ones:
vin_Base/Actions/basicneeds/bathe.lpaction
vin_Base/Actions/basicneeds/go_to_the_bathroom.lpaction
vin_Base/Actions/beauty/use_haircare.lpaction
vin_Base/Actions/entertainment/watch_a_movie_in.lpaction
vin_Base/Actions/entertainment/watch_sport_in.lpaction
vin_Base/Actions/entertainment/watch_tv.lpaction

Changelog:
23/05/14
Added overrides for some of the base game actions that move you to other rooms so that they'd automatically return you to the main room afterwards. The following actions are covered: Bathe, Go to the bathroom, Use haircare, Watch a movie, Watch sport, Watch TV

Another bug I have encountered in the latest version is that the Sneak Mini-game doesn't work right. As soon as you click on a green square, the Mini-game is completed, no matter how many squares you are supposed to click on. Can anyone else confirm this?

If you have high sneak skill, that's normal.

I do have high sneak skill, but up until the last update, I always had to take as many steps as it said, even if it was as low as 2. It never instantly won the mini-game as soon as I hit the first green square. I'm not doubting you, but how it works now is not how it worked for me in the past.

Ok, just to update, I tried starting up a new game, and tried sneaking with different sneak skills. Everything worked as normal. Then I loaded my old game and tried it. It now shows -3 as the number of steps to take, where before it said 3. So I guess it makes sense that it instantly solves. However, I think something must have been adjusted in this last update. Sorry for doubting you, Kassan06969, and thanks for responding.

I was about to reply to your previous post saying I couldn't replicate the single click completion issue with a sneaking skill lower than 97 which only requires 1 step, but it seems like you've already figured that out.

What I did notice however is that there seems to be a bug where you can click on a single green square, and then if you mouse over a red one after that it succeeds anyway. This seems more likely to occur the higher your sneaking skill is. I'm not certain that's a new bug though, because I seem to recall encountering that before occasionally.

Yes, I have noticed that, too. It is not a new bug, as I have seen it happen for quite a while. Not sure when it started, or what sneak level you have to be for it to happen, but I see it all the time. Thanks for checking out my 'problem'. I guess this was one of the bugs that was fixed in this update.

I guess it's not actually a bug according to the API docs. I had assumed that if you didn't opt out of the mini-game that it just bypassed the random sneak checks entirely, but I guess the check is run regardless. Sounds like success in the mini-game just temporarily sets your sneak skill to 100 so that the check will automatically pass.

this game loses its glamour really fast. once you've seen most of the scenes at least once you realize it's a disjointed mess where almost nothing has any lasting consequences, npcs are fungible, and relationships barely more than flavor text (with >90% of couples turned poly after a couple of months).

it could be great if it was tied together more and npcs actually fleshed out actors with some simulation of personality, social class and history. but it seems vinfamy just keeps heaping up more disjointed scenes on top of the pile every month instead of improving the core gameplay loops. sad!
