Such a positive surprise. Went past this game once or twice before - eh, generic incest porn, whatever - but while it's not doing anything amazingly different, what it does it does so astonishingly well (esp. once it really gets going, I'd say after ch.3 or so), and with such an impressive eye for detail. Real labor of love, or just done by somebody who cares about all these little things that porn games usually ignore.
That being said there's a few things that I personally felt detract a bit from the experience. Given the amount of wörk already put into this I doubt anything's going to change and it's just my opinion anyway, but I'll write a list nonetheless:
- Choices mainly seem there to have you click something occasionally, or maybe roleplay your character a little bit. Otherwise there's some to avoid specific sexual encounters I guess, but it's a porn game, so why would you do that ^^ ... mostly though they don't seem to have an impact. And by the end, I gotta say, I was really fucking sick about not caring about swearing and having to click the 57th "I don't care" choice ^^;
- obv. there's kinda a big difference between a "landlord" grooming "wards" and "wards" essentially "grooming" their "landlord". I mean, what with living space being so expensive and all the financial/economical implication it's a real ethical difference
... but around ch.4/5 it almost feels like you're playing Denise and Faceless Dude is just kinda passively, uh, there. It'd have been nice to more actively participate, not even necessarily in anything outrageous, just kinda
do something ^^;
- speaking of Denise; her innocent/clueless act sometimes gets a bit much. I mean, characters sometimes speculate whether she actually means it or not, but even then, yeah, a bit much sometimes.
- the F95 "gimmicks" and some other bits. They aren't too obtrusive, but you got this game that's carefully crafted and all about being reasonably immersive and all that and then you just got these bits that really, really stick out. Don't get me wrong, a bit of a tongue-in-cheek humor doesn't hurt anything, but a few times I thought it was a bit too in-your-face and distracting (also some of the other between chapters stuff and such).
But, either way, really enjoyed playing the game so far and looking forward to the next chapter. Was frankly kinda surprised there was
, which is kinda a bizarre thing for a porn game - you'd think that's the first thing you expect
Wouldn't even have minded had there not been any, though.
