This is what happens when the developer works almost exclusively on sandbox elements for nearly half of the time the game has been in development - it leads to misconceptions. New players, in particular, don't know LT to be anything other than a sandbox experience with some "insignificant" story happening in the background. While it does contain some elements of thereof, the game is actually meant to be an RPG - it even says on the developer's own website under "What is Lilith's Throne?". In my biased opinion, that means story in the center and everything else second.I don't exactly understand why in a sandbox game that's a good thing... (The reduced variety, not the lack of depth, which tbh I never expected from this game in the first place, while I did expect variety)
But until Inno starts treating the game as such and making progress on that front, most people are just going to keep treating this game for what it is ATM (mostly a sandbox experience) rather than what it is meant to be (an RPG). We're nearing the day we are finally able to move out of Dominion and see more story progression, yet, I know some people are dreading the day because all they care about is more sandbox stuff and anything that takes time away from that particular element, is "time wasted" in their opinion.
