I'm still waiting for a proper lizard race to be added. We have octopuses, spiders, and fucking capybaras, but nothing outside of dragons and snakes for the scalies? I'm aware modded races aren't that hard to make, but I'm inept when it comes to making svgs and I wouldn't be able to do them justice.

That's the same reason why I don't make the marsupials. I could probably kit-bash the xml file, but graphics are not my strong suit.

For those unaware samoyed literally means 'self-eating' in russian.

My apologies. I was not aware of the other names for this breed of dog when I made it, but samoyed is the most common name in English as far as I can tell.

Why someone would want to have them in the game so much they got it into main release is beyond me

Felicia (formerly Felicity)'s writer asked that she be a samoyed, and I obliged during the implementation of her expansion. Sorry if this was not clear in the patch notes.

There are alligators as well.

Lizards are slated for the desert area and as such are a Wave 3 race in my queue alongside kobolds. However I do not want to get started even on Wave 2 races because when Wave 1 came out there were many strong opinions that there were enough races already and no further time should be spent on new ones. I would also like to polish Wave 1 (dragons especially). Therefore unless a race is needed for an NPC, further additions are on the backburner.

A solution for people that don't like bad ends has existed nearly forever. Save the game and load when you lose.

You can boil down the basically formula for a "game" as a set of challenges you give to the player to overcome that makes the player's brain release the good brain chemicals.

The problem is that if there is no challenge, the brain doesn't give you the good brain chemicals. This becomes boring. Story can salvage a boring game because the player will want to at least give it one run through for the story content, but after that single run through you have nothing because you don't have a game that actually achieves its goal of being an enjoyable game. You have something people played for the story content only and not the game.

You need a fun gameplay loop that provides varied challenges due to overlapping mechanics generating unexpected results forcing the player into *meaningful* decisions to produce this.

That's why people keep saying it's not a game, it's a VN with a map. The game is missing.

Yeah, no, that's your definition you're trying to enforce, somewhat similar to when I said games are entertainment. We can take a philosophical step back and say ”games is a art” for a more correct definition everyone is unsatisfied with for its blanketing vagueness, but if you can't acknowledge other viewpoints and motivations we should stop here. (And I'm sick of new garbage gameplay hoops to jump through that get added to porn games and called an update)

Walking simulators exist, and are widely accepted as games due to their interactive nature (and so are VNs), yet often feature no challenge beyond locating the next door. That doesn't invalidate their existence as a game. (See The Stanley Parable for a game in this category that does a lot right) Similarly, textbooks are still books. (Are pamphlets books? What about flyers? Newspapers?) As for one and done games not being games, that's like 80% of them JFC dude not everything needs to be an optimized skinner box designed to suck out your life.

A game doesn't need anything. It's a medium with blurry lines at the edges because words are an arbitrary invention. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm late for a wank.

Rental Mommy only shows up for mother's week (2nd May week).

It wasnt so much about people not liking bad ends (I've never even heard of complaints of bad ends till that post), its simply that it was a flimsy excuse not to do them anymore Inno and tossing the baby out with the bath water by not replacing bad ends with anything substantial.... or anything at all really.

I get that game features get cut in game development sometimes, but when they do and they're not sufficiently covered, you can feel missing void that the former feature left. If you ever wondered why you can just get your ass beat over and over again by bosses and nothing changes, now you know why.

is still in the latest preview on git, the only thing missing is, in fact, that commented out debug trigger, so getting that back in should do the trick and work just fine.

I'm surprised the character author was fine with just basically keeping the character in but locking it behind a door and swallowing the key. I mean, wouldn't people eventually figure out how to patch the character back in...?

I've given them enchanted clothing, pills, and tattoos that supposedly boost fertility but nothing seems to work. I know my character isn't sterile as I've impregnated non-slave characters.

I've given them enchanted clothing, pills, and tattoos that supposedly boost fertility but nothing seems to work. I know my character isn't sterile as I've impregnated non-slave characters.

My only suggestion is to check your stats in your phone, and perks. Infertility perks are damn strong.

Have you checked if your slaves are fertile too?

I am also experiencing slaves being unable to be impregnated. So far my lesser alligator, fox, and vargr are all incapable of being impregnated. These slaves were all bought from markets. In my testing so far, my captured pair of demon slaves don't appear to have the same problem.

Right now my guess is its somehow related to the change about market slave generation that were in the patch notes. Will capture a non-demon slave and test to see if they are free of it for further confirmation.

Captured a fox girl, was able to impregnate. Purchased a new cat girl, was not able to impregnate.

The message given is the same as the very low fertility "you know its not happening" line. Something probably got broke with generated market slave's fertility.
