Welp, already got me hooked. Character creation is a favorite feature of mine, but I've yet to play a game where personalities are as customizable (or important for that matter, Inno) as appearances. I'll +1 in favor of gay/lesbian content too, but I'm curious—you mentioned behavioral differences between genders. Would femPCs with more "masculine" personalities be possible? Or the opposite?
Yeah of course - I'm just trying to take things one step at a time.
I think it's due time I showed you guys some progress screenshots, though keep in mind they're WIP and some GUI elements are missing entirely.

Currently, there is no masculinity/femininity counter, but that's likely to change.
There will be gay and lesbian content once I introduce gender identity in the game, and your character will not be bound by gender norms - feminine men and masculine women will be possible.

So how's that going to work?
Currently, there's a total of six personalities in the game, three pairs of which you can only pick one, a "route" of sorts.
They go as follows

Logic vs Intuition
Dominance vs Submission
Empathy versus Dispassion

Wanna make your character a super-smart social recluse who's kinda into being dominated? Go for Logic, Submission, Dispassion.
Wanna make a very intuitive and perceptive character, one that reads other people like a book, and wants to do everything THEIR way? Go for Intuition, Dominance, Empathy.

It is likely I'll add at least one or maybe two more categories - currently the only reason I'm not doing this is because there's not enough space on the GUI (lol), but that's likely to change.

The personality traits will be identical for man and woman alike, but the way they speak might change a bit. The character has a lot of inner monologue going on, but I might let players pick their sexual identity/appearance and in-game behavior separately, thus making it possible to create a woman-looking character that has the masculine-assigned lines and vice-versa.

I wish I could show you guys also the combat screen, but I decided to re-work it to make it more battlefuck-ish.

Github source have just been change something. Probadly we can try new update in few next days weeks.
It's clothing for feral horse parts and code to make said clothes exclusive to ferals. There's also an Isreali style bandage which is kinda cool, but nothing worth writing home about.

Yeah of course - I'm just trying to take things one step at a time.

I know this isn't the same, but I'm getting Myerr-Briggs vibes from the way you described these personality traits. I hope the trippy abstract art for the different traits becomes a mainstay.

From the screenshots, it looks like horror game with silent hill vibe instead of erotic chilling game. I kinda get uncomfortable just by looking at the room and the personalities illustrations. I can only hope your game gonna have a bit of 'happy and casual' vibe when it's finished. Because can't really fap while feeling anxious, you know?

Hah, definitely not the intended effect.
The personality art is just abstract psychedelic trippy depictions, though I get how it makes you feel a little uncanny.

Rest assured, the game will balance wholesome and traumatic elements. The intro is already done and IMHO it's pretty humorous. I'd show you guys all my progress so far so you see for yourself but it doesn't even belong here yet because the lewd elements aren't done.

If you want my 2 cents... avoid serifs fonts (eg Times, Bookman, etc). They put unnecessary strain on the eye. Use Calibri, Verdana, Helvetica, etc instead. Speaking of eye, human eye is lazy. A paragraph with more than 3 lines of text is likely to be read "diagonally". So maybe consider breaking your text a bit more.

Cheers.

Thx, that would be in future, since I won't really have levels (barely even locations), and probably won't have quests.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
So you don't plan to have NPC's with say detailed slavery paths, or people that have kinky missions, or anything non-sandbox? Because one of the bigger
criticism of say this game, Lilith's Thrones, is that it doesn't have enough non-generic content too it.

Thanks, serif font thing is definitely good advice - I'll admit I hardly put too much thought into it. I went ahead and picked Univers, looks p. cozy.
Displayed "paragraph" is actually three combined lines that the player has to press space to see. I'm actually worried that I hardly reveal more than a sentence or two per spacebar click, lol. It's shaping up to be a weird mix between visual novel, RPG, and point and click map movement. In that regard, it definitely feels a lot more like a game than some similar text titles.

I'd like to, but not a priority. One of my inspirations is Slave Matrix - a dinky little game with hardly a story or characters, but it left its small fanbase wanting more. (I don't really like slave stuff, though I do enjoy a slave -> head butler/maid story, or slave -> wife story, so we'll see). My strength is in mechanics if anything, and my experiment will be to see if I can throw a bunch of uncommon mechanics (e.g. backstory, which is usually a "story" thing and not a "mechanic" thing) and see if it makes generated NPCs interesting enough.

You better hurry up. I'm tempted by personality stuff as well. But coming soon: - the link goes to "You won't believe how ChatGPT AI changed Skyrim forever!" My bet is that the toil we put into personality systems will soon be overtaken. Not to say that text-based or 2D will go away - those should stick around for reasons I'll leave for another time. But I think in the near-term or mid-term, lovingly-crafted personality logic might not be able to compete.

Apologies if slightly off-topic... but I do know the context here, and I did quietly nod with approval when the model-train discussion was happening ;).
I'm happy to be fully on-topic when updates are regular and main story is advancing.

Yeah, I know it's coming, and I'm hyped because a bunch of if statements will completely replace Inno and do it 200 times faster and better, but let's be real, that's still a little far off. Once complete integration comes, every text game will become useless, and then pretty much every other game, since this will just make custom tailored stuff on demand.
Still, I believe that there's still at least a few years before that happens. GPUs just aren't powerful enough to run local text generators yet, let alone apply such a thing to a game, let alone apply it to an erotic game. You get the jazz.

I can't wait to read entirely AI written smut, in which the AI has no idea how to explain "he put peanus in bagine" because the model was written around the highly censored OAI GPT and ends up being Fate tier awkward writing.
Well yeah, cant have sex with AI Chat, that lowers your ESG Score, and makes Master Card drop you. Also got to train it to believe that anything is worth it to reduce Climate Change (even ending ones own life it seems), and that no matter what you cant say the N Word.

It has its problems, has to appeal to investors after all.
Good thing there's some nutty chinese models being developed and I guess they don't care about political correctness as much.
There's plenty of local AI stuff coming. Just gotta wait. A few years. And have some money ready for a next gen GPU.

I think I found the guy who probably couldn't get past the first 15 minutes of Outlast because he jumps at every noise he hears.

I'm also being a tease, don't look too deeply into that. All of us take horror differently and I'm just kinda numb to it. I think I like subtle horror, but the reason I play the more in your face kind is because I just like horrible squishy bloody murder. Bonus points if you're the monster.

China doesn't even believe in human decency, why would they care about explicit AI bots?

They care about CCP correctness, and the party historically is anti-porn as well. The high level of Chinese Censorship is actually sighted as the main thing that's stopped AI Development. Since even people on the Chinese Internet post Anti-Party talk, even if they get, well you know, for it.

In fact Porn is actually 100% illegal in China

I like this concept overall, but how does logic/intuition and empathy/dispassion after the gameplay and/or narrative? Because if it's about making certain choices available then that makes sense, but if this system is supposed to affect the player character's dialog and the narrative overall then I could see this be pretty challenging to maintain as the game gets bigger. LT kind of left the whole personality system as an afterthought because actually implementing it would mean you would have to constantly write alternative scenarios to match the chosen personality types.
Then again this is just my thoughts about a game I don't really know much about, so it could be that this personality system is great and doesn't cause a ton of extra writing burden.
