No dev makes money by delaying releases.
No dev makes money by delaying releases.
On the surface, this seems reasonable. If you look deeper, however, you find that it's not quite as simple as that.Devs get paid monthly.. the more it's delayed the more money they earn without an update release.
Not quite true. They don't lose "enough supporter" to make them take the work seriously. So they delay delay at the time grows, without any significance impact. They only do regular updates in the first phases of the game, where they need to attract and gain supporters. On the surface, this seems reasonable. If you look deeper, however, you find that it's not quite as simple as that.
A developer who keeps missing promised release dates without good cause loses the good will of his supporters, and good will is worth money, both figuratively and literally. As good will ebbs away, resentment takes its place. Supporters begin cancelling their support. And resentful ex-supporters are very difficult to win back. Also, the spreading bad reputation which comes with this will keep many prospective new supporters away. So, while the developer may be able to cash a few checks without doing any work, it may cost him more than he gains, in the long run.
On the other hand, a developer who delivers on promises and keeps his supporters in the loop gains good will. This usually translates into better supporter retention, which means more income stability. It also results in a positive reputation, which encourages prospective new supporters to sign up. You don't get any "free paychecks" this way, because you have to keep working all the time to keep delivering on promises, but it leads to long term gains.
This game has been in development for just under three years (It will be three years later this month.), and PaleGrass has been a good and reliable developer for that entire time. Sometimes he's been late with updates, and sometimes he hasn't posted development blogs as often as we'd like, but he always has good reason, and he always delivers what he promised as soon as he's able. He doesn't milk people. It's true that some developers do, but he doesn't.
They get a lot of new supporters when they actually release a new update as well, so throughout the year they don't really lose any money. Not quite true. They only do regular updates in the first phases of the game, where they need to attract and gain supporters.
You can look other games for reference.
Jessica O'neils Hard News, last update is from October 2023. Someone leaked that the Dev - StoperArt gets something 1600-1700$ from Patreon monthly. literally for doing nothing.
Innocence or Money; last new material / content update was in September 2023, and the Dev hasn't released anything yet. he keeps milking supporters and "the cows" somehow happy to get milked.
AWAM; maybe the Dev somehow do updates but 5+ years passed and there is no sex scene with MC Sophia which is everybody is waiting for. And dev still milks the supporters.
Do you think If these developers had lost their supporters, could they have postponed updates like this?
Maybe they lose 15-20% of their supporters Idk. But surely It isn't enough so every one of them keep delaying updates and they don't care. And new updates tends to get smaller and smaller playtime. There are many examples.
it is true but as game designer my self many devs doesn't do that intentionally good 3d renders take time to produce also good dialogues and story too that's why most of the updates get delayed. On the other hands they are robots they are humans too and had personal life and family also. Even they work 8 hrs or 12 hrs a day things take time to produce.Devs get paid monthly.. the more it's delayed the more money they earn without an update release.
You're trying to take the exceptions and make them the rule. You named a few developers who have received exceptional support for various reasons, and tried to suggest that this same phenomenon will hold true across the board, which is not correct. Not quite true. Ok I agree with some of your points. These number have some differences for what I thought. You're trying to take the exceptions and make them the rule. You named a few developers who have received exceptional support for various reasons, and tried to suggest that this same phenomenon will hold true across the board, which is not correct.
StoperArt, for example, produces some of the highest quality Daz art in the adult game market. The quality of his work has earned him die-hard fans who will hang on like grim death, because the quality of his work is so much higher than anything most developers can produce. That's why he still has supporters.
But if you think that even these exceptional creators are not suffering for their bad practices, you're wrong. To take Stoper as an example again, he currently brings in about $1,800 per month. But back in October of last year, when he last released an update, he was making $2,600 a month, which is a difference of $800 per month. And if you look at his earnings since he first launched the game, his highest earnings were in July of 2021, when he was earning $3,300 per month, $1,500 more per month than he currently earns - in other words, almost double what he's making now. At the present time, his earnings are the lowest they've been since December of 2020 - his lowest point in three and a half years.
So even though there are a very few developers who continue to make money while milking their customers and earning people's resentment, those developers would still be doing much better if they had better business practices. You are kidding yourself if you think that anyone, even the top earners, don't suffer when they engage in bad practices.
And for the majority of developers, who do not receive exceptional support, bad practices like milking customers, giving excuses, failing to communicate, or outright lying can be a death sentence for their future support.
-Edited for spelling.
There are quite a few devs who do milk their subscribers. I never denied that. My point is that they would be better off not milking or lying or doing anything like that. They would be better off if they would just be honest, hard working devs. But the thing is, more than 6 month passed and they didn't made any updates. It looks like it still didn't make enough impact to make them release new updates.
The party is several times bigger than the camping event - not a little bit bigger, but several times bigger. For Palegrass, I really can say that beginning period was better, updates were much longer etc. One party event takes months to complete and frankly it doesn't look any bigger event than the camping event in the forest where Lisa did threesome with two guys in the tent.
There are a lot of reasons for development slowdowns, other than dishonest devs trying to milk their supporters. In PG's case, for example, he had a huge setback last year, when his Mega account got nuked, and then his Patreon account got nuked a short time later. And he got worried about the pornography laws in his country, and went back to remove a huge amount of content from the game.I really can't count too much games and devs who kept the regular pace with satisfying content since beginning. Almost every game, maybe 70-80% of all adult games, tend to make the progress slow , make the contents little and delay the updates as the time passes. That is a fact I can say.
While I believe PaleGrass is one of the better developers here (both in quality and honesty), it is very easy to see why a case for the contrary could be made. Just on the party alone he's taken over twice the time estimated for less than half of the original content promised iirc. And it's not first time his words have been far off mark neither. So it's pretty easy to see why it can be perceived by people as if there's some mismanegement here.On the surface, this seems reasonable. If you look deeper, however, you find that it's not quite as simple as that.

So what's the next update is all about exactly? To be fair, the number of poseable actors in each render is probably killing their time. I struggled with just two, trying to make everything look good. I can't imagine with the number of people involved in the upcoming orgy. Probably a lot of micro adjustments and shit. It'll come out, we just need to busy ourselves meanwhile.
Ok but for the consumer/player perspective, most important things are new contents and new scenes, more contents and more scenes; i would assume at least %80 of players will prioritize this over render quality. To be fair, the number of poseable actors in each render is probably killing their time. I also hope you survive that longI wish the Jayce party completes before I die, so that the renpy version would get updated.
Haven't played since the last renpy update.
And yes I'm aware renpy will not be updated till Jayce event completes in rpmg, don't reply telling me to read the post on renpy.
Awesome. I'll still probably wait a few patches before I pick it up again. Would like to compound more content to sink my fangs in.

Dunno mate, it just takes as long as it takesI got it about making high quality renders but this game has no animation like other VN adult games here. And animations take a lot a lot a lot of time to make, animated sex scenes. Its ok, this game is good like this, but...
If there is no animation why this game is taking so long ???? I can understand about other games making very late updates at some point but for a game that has no animation, only renders this is too long.
These images aren't currently in the game, they WERE in the game before the map file corrupted but when I raced to rewrite everything I left these out until I begin working on the cuck routeIn the spoilers are the Cuckold images in the Jayce Party...

We may crack the 10k total images mark this year ^_^yes those studios have hundred or more people but PG don't need to do tens of thousands of images right ?

2 horny as FUCK milfs trying to corrupt the beautiful young Lisa? All I can say to that is..... PLEASE FUCKIN GOD YES PLEASE!!!!!
Those images are all Wallpapers mate, many of the wallpapers show situations that won't appear in game but.. a few of those will ^_^When will this scene come out. Any comment about this one PaleGrass please let me know
NEVER!? Shoot.. Well in that case I'm packin' up shop n' headed for the hills. ^_^Wow I just played through that party from the save and I have never in my life played through a more boring, pointless and stupid event in a game. It was pointlessly long and makes me not want to continue the game if its going to be more crap like that.
