Well, no big difference either, they treat patreons like idiots here.
The only difference is that she can lock herself in a bubble and there's no consequences for that. No shareholders to be bounded by, no youtubers to be scrutinized and definitely not mainstream to deter would-be patrons.

lmao They missed the chance to use the hack as an excuse
"hey guys, so we were JUST about to release the full game but some hacker came and deleted the files so we have to start all over again, anyway thanks for your next decades of patronage" :ROFLMAO:
Come on. They're neither PR talented nor have the full support of their patrons to pull off this trick. Besides, this can easily backfire.

Open the hacking topic, I offer here, (free, no subscription required) possible new excuses to the development...

- My dog destroyed my computer in an act of rage for not taking him out to defecate.

- A tornado produced by climate change came through the window and took away the hard disk where I kept all my progress.

- I didn't make it in time for black friday and I couldn't buy on sale the new equipment needed to make this fantastic triple A game. Because, of course, patreon's money doesn't even give us enough for beers, so you have to subscribe more and pay more, dammit.

- The release of the new Zelda would overshadow all our progress and so we have postponed it.

- Abelius has gone on vacation again.

You forgot some good ones

- One of our devs are in [insert country where porn is illegal and explain in detail of its illegality to appear professional] as a vacation, so we can't go as fast as usual.

- One of us are sick and [insert a sob story as to how you got sick. The longer and emotion-snatching, the better]

- We are too stressed out for the workloads and messages we received so we're taking a break for a while.

- We initially wanted to add a feature, but [insert niche mechanic from a popular game] has made us reconsider and scrap the feature

- We believe the half-decent progress is not enough, so we're redoing it to make it perfect (yes, that's an actual excuse the LOK team used)

Surprised this hasn't been dubbed abandoned by the site yet. Maybe if all the patrons were to just unsubscribe for a month we might get an actual build release but that would require higher levels of thinking than said patrons possess.

Actually, now that I think about it, maybe the trick would be to just wholesale ignore it. As a collective unit simply show no interest in it whatsoever. The fewer people talking about it means less people hearing about it and fewer patrons to sucker into it. It would either kill the project or put a fire under their ass but I'd welcome either one as it would be a definitive end.

Absolutely. It's a damn shame how rebirth was once one of the best looking, sexiest games out there (and grindiest haha), and now look at it. How did it get to the point where the best option is to NOT support the game?!?

I keep coming back to this thread and even their website expecting something, anything, that will knock my socks off.

Still, maybe when they reboot it a 3rd time as a vr exclusive, fornite clone, it'll be worth a look. :(

I'm happy that they unlocked most of their Patreon posts, it's easier to see what they all did with some information there. Before you had to kinda guess and comb through their sites that 'may' have a hint on what they did a certain month.

But it sure is as slow as molasse. I think everyone here can agree on that. Heck, even water freezes if cold enough. I just wonder what the man hours are on this project on a weekly basis. Someone correct me, but I think 40 Hours a week is suppose to be the norm. Ahh...I just ponder my thinker, if the accumulated works are from a good work ethic, or rather sparsed out -- which implies this crawl of development.

Back then when you were making a game, you had this period of "crunch time" where developers would code away 60-80 hours a week, sometimes for months. If they could somehow pull that off, I would be devastated. In a good way.

One thing that i always believe that could make an NSFW indie game successful is TRANSPARENCY.

As long the developer or team of devs are TRANSPARENT and actual clear with their supporters then the game will go on a bright path, And it's understandable there's uncalled inconveniences but when delays are more and more noticeable this is when doubting raises and this may be the scenario LoK rebirth may be dealing with :S

They also went from changing certain content available for specific pledger eyes to public in general then you can see how the lack of support it's dropping down and hype for the game is also starting to not look that colorful at comparison on was it at the very start.

If anything there may be an decent update at the end of this month? but clearly time frames are not a very familiar thing for the current team of LoK-Rebirth to fulfill even from their recent incident with someone getting hacked in the most masterfully yet simple way possible xD (hacked on discord lol)

v0.1.7.1 build release!
Let's see here.

- 2 scenes with Kay
- A tavern map with a minigame (bear in mind that the map was in the making since build 16.0)
- an extra guard for the chief
- an unnecessary addition for a 4 directions, but needed for an eight directions leftover from the 3D
- 2 music
- 4 dialogues
- 1 setting option
- 1 see-through trees
- an unspecified amount of props

Now tell me, does this feel like 3 months in the making? Even RimeTheVixen produced more in that time.

uh... Is there any gameplay in this version (1.3.1) or it's just an empty demo? I was running from one side of the village to another, speaking to everyone but I can't progress yet. And is there any NSFW content at all other than the animations in the gallery?
