yeah go figure, a fully realized game with high end art, story and gameplay needs more than a year to bake.... the horror!
I wanted to write something this week, but i thought it was stupid and a waste of time. Still think that, but doing it anyway this time.
Do you really believe you will get a fully realized game by the next release? You think they got every art finished, a story with enough content to fill at least 5-8 hours (low for a fully realized game but the bare minimum in my eyes) and optimised game mechanics that dont need any modification in the near future, because the testing and feedback through a wide area of ppl and pcs was done or planned and implemented that good so theres no need for that?
I thought it was brazen to come here and tell some of us this crap
I still have hopes for the project, perhaps that is misplaced or perhaps not. I hope the project fares well and makes a great game of high quality. As most know high quality normally takes time, and most dev work is hidden away from people watching and waiting for a playable game. It is disappointing to not have anything playable and to have delays, but it is also not helpful to simply bemoan things. even if no game is made in the end, my $1 a month still sees gifs and pictures that i think are worth it.
but the other one topped that by far.
I am not sure how long you are invested in this project, or if you follow any other creators, but my estimations arent that high. Personally i like to see some results if someone making big statements. And since the rebirth im no patreon anymore, so i dont have these high quality pictures and gifs. What i saw was the published results, the time between them and the responses that came from the devs, also a shitshow of how the original LoK:Rebirth went down.

But hey, maybe The Tribe will prove me wrong. I wrote this sentence in my last comments sincerly, to encourage the devs that even if some of us arent happy with them, we are still for the game itself. Nowadays its just a cheeky catch phrase for me in this thread, even though deep down i hope im wrong, im old enough to not believe in fairie tales anymore

You know most games (even ones with massive momentary support) normally take several years to make? most indie and smaller titles take a lot longer than that. Making your displeasure known is fine, I just find it odd that so many people are hating on a game that you think is never coming out. If the game is dead in your mind then why are you still focused on it?

Anyway, I respect your hopes. But as the one person most affected by their reboot, and knowing first hand how development of a game works, I think I have the right to tell you've placed your hopes on the wrong people. The only people making a Krystal game, yes, but that shouldn't be the main reason to be so hopeful after all this time.
Hope makes life brighter, after all, even if most of the people in this forum thread are disappointed with the game and all the story around it, they are still subscribed to this thread.

Of course, the reasons for subscribing can be very different, but I think, that deep down - many of these people, even those who speak extremely negatively about everything that happens in this thread about the game - would like to see a good ending to this whole story.

But maybe I'm wrong, and someone just wants to gloat ... Well, everyone has their own path and their own interests... :)

Well, if you took your time and read, besides the 81 pages here, the other thread too, you wouldnt ask. And thats the reason why i called you out. Hell im sure you could anser that from my posts here alone, but with the other you get the whole picture.

But i guess you wont do that, because its too much. Well fun fact, some of us are here since the beginning, and even if you start a new time after Abelius left, you get over 2 years, one of them (mostly) in Lockdown. You get your moneys worth, good for you, i DID NOT. All i got was "my" supported project kicked in the trash, a lot of promises that it will be better now, bigger than ever, Tripple A Title... and we got nothing beside a really rough Demo, forgeting the 3d trash nobody ever asked for. I was insulted and looked down by some devs for stating my opinion, which took a lot of time (and insults) to get an apology (which, to be fair, i got)

Now to the current status, how is the game? To my understanding the last demo should be the ground work, so it would be easier and faster to implement, right? That was 8 or 9 months ago, and how long between 3d and that demo? How long between Cancel of old project and 3d demo? I cant draw, i cant rig, i cant write a programm, but i can compare with others. There are some high quality games here which have more frequent updates with less team members and "less" experience - i quoted that last less because after this long time its hard to believe they are, but i will go with the words from the devs.

These are just some random "first coffee" things i can think of the top of my head on a sunday mornin at 7:30 AM, it would only get worse if i digged through the thread for statements (like other have allready). This should cover for the "Why are you (still) mad" question.

To your real question, why am i still invested in this? Simple, its Krystal. And if you dont get that answer, further discussions are futile ^^

It just hit me, after reading you guys, that all this reminds me a lot of another scenario in which people can't agree on disagree: religious talk.

It's basically like Atheists trying to convince believers that their god doesn't exist.

Isn't that funny? xD

The thing is, I consider myself Agnostic and respectful of everyone's faiths as long as they don't fuck up the lives of other people around.

And if I'm to be completely honest, they didn't fuck with anybody else except yours truly, ejecting me on the basis of not doing a good job, and them being able to do better.

But the rest of you people...? Yeah, it's like talking about Homeopathy. Self-suggestion is a powerful thing and in some cases, it even works and makes you feel better.

At the end of the day, we unbelievers and fact-checkers don't gain anything by trying to point out your faith is misplaced, because hope is a powerful emotion, and telling someone not to have faith makes us look like assholes.

So, to each their own, I guess.

My only question for you is if you'd been so patient and understanding with me if I was still at the helm of the project, and "only" released an update every 2-3 months as I did back then.

If the answer is yes, then all is good. I'll take care of my game and I'll leave you to your faith in theirs.

Comparison of the desires of those who hope for a successful outcome with the game in this thread on the forum, and religion ... A little inappropriate.

We have strong evidence that the development team in the new lineup may work and may create a game. Why? Well, their latest demo of the game showed that they can do it.

Of course, many people did not like the development path of the game that the developers chose, many considered the game with cooking to be inappropriate ... And the speed of development due to the lack of proper control leaves much to be desired ... But ... It's not over yet. It is not yet time to put an end to the fate of this game project.

And since developers are not scammers (and at some point I was not sure about that in the past), which you personally confirmed earlier on this forum thread, Abelius...

Well... You are one of the main reasons why I still believe in this game project, thank you for that :)

P.S. And good luck with your new game, it looks promising, even with out Krystal in it :)

What demo?
You mean the one posted in... February... that they took nearly a year to produce?

Well, I'm talking about that last demo that was released, which is much better than the horror in 3d that they showed initially, and which was subsequently canceled.

Fortunately.

And their latest demo is quite okay, and already contains a lot of the necessary mechanics to create a finished game. In fact, they just need to add content and the game will be live.

But why haven't they done it yet? ...

Well, perhaps because either they decided to add quite a lot of content before they release the next version of their game project ... Or they again had some difficulties and drama ...

But I think that since they managed to create a more or less successful demo as a new team - they have a chance to create a game.

Anyway, time will tell, maybe in the not too distant future a lot of new drama awaits us again on the pages of this forum ... But still, this is not a reason to give up hope of a favorable outcome in advance :)

No, they're not scammers. They're well intentioned people. I never said the contrary. But if your sole argument is to take that declaration from me, and turn a blind eye to the rest... well, that's cherry-picking at its best, sorry.

The whole point of my post is pointing out that you guys are clinging on the remote possibility of a future reward. Exactly the same as religious people hope for paradise in Heaven, while they're fucked in the ass by real life in Earth.

In other words: the difference between a fan and a fanatic.

I'm not a fan of discussing religions (everyone has the right to believe what they want, if it makes his or her life better, but does not interfere with the life of others), but if I touch on this topic a little ... Religion is what we are told to believe without actually showing anything. Just faith. Mostly.

And here is not only words, but also what we can try and even play a bit. A completely working demo version of the game, which, later, may well be expanded to a full-fledged game.

So I see no reason to involve any fanaticism or anything like that.

Of course, if some unknown development team appeared who would say - give us your money, and we will make a game for you, and many would fanatically believe it ... But ... In this thread, this is not the case, we quite see what the developers are capable of. They can create a game. They've done a lot of work already and have a pretty good foundation for it (and again I do speaking about their last demo version :).

Of course, they lack a better project manager, but that's not a reason to bury their project. At least for now. :)

I just think this has the whole fanatic fan base just because of it being a LoK game as some tv/anime has where within 10s of airing people will have given it max rateing just for it being that title or have this person in. If this wasn't a game with krystal from star fox owned by nintendo or had the LoK fan games made before it there would be a lot less die hard they will make it great or they will do something fans that just want a LoK game to be compleated.

I did want the last game to be done but it wasn't and this version will most likely not be compleated, people say it takes a long time to make games have never seen games like cut the rope or flappy birds or even any game made for game makers jam on io yes some games take a long time some of the best and most played haven't and when the game has been made and remade by people lots of times over the years and as far as I know krystal is still nintendo's IP and they have sued someone into bankrupsy over selling game emulators you do see why people would wonder why it takes so long while taking money from people for something that is owned by a company that could shut down the whole thing in a blink of an eye as lets all be clear krystal is the reson anyone cares about this

In general, your point of view is more correct then wrong, but not everything always works like this. For example, the game that I do help to promote - initially wooed about 7-8 negative reviews with a 1 star rating for a really short time when the branch with it appeared on this site. Fortunately, the moderators of this site turned out to be very adequate, and removed these ratings, since it was clear that they were left by those who had not even tried the game, but simply for some reason attacked * another game about Krystal * with such negative criticism.

However, this is already in the past, and most importantly, it did not interfere with the development of the project. :)

Unfortunately, at the moment it is not entirely clear what exactly is the reason for such long delays between the releases of updates for the game in this thread, but I would venture to suggest that this is precisely due to the fact that the developers are trying to perform many actions at the same time, while the project management leaves much to be desired ...

However, this does not mean that everything is really that bad, and the game will never be released. Yes, the developers screwed up several times, but their latest demo, in my opinion, looks quite promising. And since they managed to create it, then they are quite capable of working together.

But time will tell, of course in the end they may screw up again, but ... They have some chances of success as well :)

P.S. and about all this Copyright crap... Well, Nindendo usually sues those who use their intellectual property and make money from it. And, if speak about parodies... Technically, creating parodies of famous characters are still legal as long as they are not used for the purpose of earning money.

But even if sometimes parodies do start to make a profit to their creators - the well-known companies are unlikely do want to get involved in a story related to porn games. As a good example - Hasbro threatened to sue many YouTube content creators for using MLP stuff ( even which they did created by them self ), but, in same time - Hasbro never did tried to sue anyone, who creating porn with MLP stuff, like blackjrXIII and many other people as well.

So porn section has its advantages, however, some boundaries still should not be crossed, and the game projects with such *copyright* content should remain free for all (not for sale), to avoid problems with DMCA, sue, etc (no 100% protection still, but still, most likely - no one will touch sucn devs) :)

Honestly speaking, I'd just like to see an ending, either good or bad.

It's one of those cases that is similar to an American TV show that aired too many seasons, now it just pushes seasons after seasons of nonsense, and only its first and second season was good. Now it has wayyyy overstayed its welcome, no more quality content. But the remaining makers see the "potential profit" it can produce, so they won't just give an ending or just cancel it completely.

Worst part is, this has been rather "Off-air" and is just giving teaser after teaser. Season 3 "Krystal becomes 3D" was shit before it even came out, and Season 4 is "still in development" because they want to "make it better?" and this *show* has been a dry barren wasteland through a period of... 2 years and counting?

This might be an inaccurate metaphor, but it has been reeking for a good while.

I'll admit this is cold, but if a game comes out, great, that's good news; if one doesn't and this team has to cancel production and disband, or anything of the sort, also sweet, no more nonsense to put ourselves through.

I just hope an "Episode 1" would come out soon, and then we can judge that. (That demo is nothing close)

P.S. I still think this thread needs an abandoned tag XD

An interesting point of view, especially regarding the division into episodes of what is happening all this time with the development of this game... :)

But in fact, the new development team (Without Abelius) has not yet shown us much of what they wanted to show, and since they are not scammers (which Abelius confirmed more than once), it is unlikely that their goal is trying to collect more money from us, and most likely they are really trying to create a game.

Most likely, they simply do not have enough professionalism and experience in working in a team, and they also lack a tough leader, which Abelius was in the past.

But still, this is not a reason to bury their project, since they are not scammers, and they do their job because they really want to create a game - they have to come to something in the end. Of course, the end of all this can be sad, but it can also be more or less positive, everything can be.

P.S. I disagree that their latest demo version is nothing. Personally, I did liked the gaming atmosphere in it, and in fact - there is simply not enough content there, but the mechanics itself and how the game will look in general is shown more than understandably. But everyone has the right to their opinion, since there is no 100% correct or incorrect opinion. :)

The only thing I know is they've been more time than me already, in charge of the project.

That should sum up the situation pretty well, no?
Yes, they screwed up a few times after they stopped working with you. There was a feeling that for a very long period they did not know what they wanted to do at all, and this was one of the main reasons why I thought they were scammers. Fortunately, they are not, and they really want to create a game.

And chances are there. Their latest demo turned out to be much better than everything before they create as Tribe team (And this is progress, after all). And therefore, regardless of all the other shortcomings... They still have a chance of a successful outcome from this whole situation.

But time will tell :)

Surely on 8 years so i guess that's a motivator for the tribe devs lol

Sorry is impossible to take them seriously on their current basis, is just impossible at this point to believe anything they say specially from the one that Shall not be named which is truly obnoxious

Been a minute since I showed up here, I couldn't handle the negativity. I just wanted to say you are all free to speak to me on discord, where I shall respond as often and as early as I can. It is easier for me to answer questions there in real time.

We post progress updates regularly, yes it has been a long time, yes we messed up early on in development. But regardless, we continue on developing what we hope will be a good game.

It would be a massive waste of my time and an endless uphill battle to correct all of the incorrect information I've read here, so I'm not going to bother. For better or for worse, I shall allow our progress to speak for itself.

The update will be releasing relatively soonish, it will contain several sex scenes, more environments, and some things to do with Vanlen, as well as some more story. After this update, we plan on doing smaller more frequent updates, as we continue to work on our pipeline. Taking this long to release an update was more of an issue of a sunk cost fallacy "Well it has been so long, we should add more content" which then compounded on itself.

Praise goes to the one who deserves it, and for this post (despite the usual soonish) you deserve some. No ranting and accusing (thats our job to be honest), realising whats the main problem (nothing to show), and a solution (and again, please make your next release good enough to shut me up at least, we would both profit from it)
