No, the day count does not matter in the current version of the game. It will matter at some point in the future, since you will be operating under a time limit before the princess arrives.

@Belle, so I finished the latest update. Glad there was . Sad it ended as soon as it began. C'Est la vie. It did feel weird that Dickon would lose . I wanted him to partially wanted him lose it . I'm not gonna ask what comes next because it seems like you ain't finished building the foundations.

There are events where you can make the perverted choice and increase your Perversity. If you can't, it means you're not there yet. Just pay attention to the story and be patient. There are little to no grinding in the game, and it's extremely simple to get the skill points you need. Of course, that may change once an actual time limit (due to story reasons) is implemented to the game, but for now there's no way you're going to miss those points unless you intentionally make the wrong choices.

Evelyn has low priority right now, mostly because she is ahead of every single other character in terms of progress. So don't expect any substantial new content for her over the next few updates.

Last update about a week ago, and while I have no idea first hand how much work it takes, I can say it will not be as fast as I want LOL. 3-4 weeks at a guess. Recently found this myself, and am not completely sure of the tempo of updates.
The game updates once per month and I usually build each update around a theme. For example, 0.6's theme was Evelyn. 0.7 is the dryad. 0.8 is going to be... well, I can't talk about that yet.
