To answer your original question, the MC was never really a doormat, he's just a guy who has struggled to find his place, which certainly wasn't helped that most people only paid attention because of an inherent ability. At the start of the story, he's the loser who doesn't know what he wants, but ends up getting thrust into a situation that he never imagined, he's forced to mature and undergoes character development.I would not have asked if I wanted to play and see lol

Tolkien and seeing a fanfic of the Lord of the Rings, and in the summary the author said they switched Frodo and Pippin, but if you actually read the thing, what they really did was replace Galadriel with Boba Fett.

ng+ doesn't bring anything new to endgame (afaik) it just lets player reach end sooner (if wants) and in the meanwhile do some new things and seduce a nun.
Even if you figure out how to do this, all you'll succeed in doing is breaking your game. The stat numbers themselves aren't important, they're just representations to you, the player, on what choices you've made during the game. You have to actually play those scenes to move things forward.
