I like the core concept of loser but it definitely needs some adjustments.

You should be able to hold unlimited or at least a shitload of topics, because later on you start realizing fuckkkk a bunch of things I burned early on would be useful now. But you used them earlier because you cannot let them accumulate and fill your inventory.

I think the starting class you pick (athlete, persuader, gamer) should make you level up in that category of skills faster, rather than just giving you some starting bonus.

The idea of nudging the character personalities is cool but it's too time-consuming and you have to go through way too many intermediate stages. I think instead of being like A->B->C->D->E->F->G for a single freaking LI, instead there should be maybe 3 different "styles" and each one has three stages. So if you want Becky to be a prude, you get her to prude A then progress to B and eventually C. If you want her to be a punk then you get her to punk stage A, then progress to B and C. If you want her to be a party slut then you get her to party slut A then progress, etc. This would also make it less linear and add a ton of replay value.

It also needs to be a little less slow bc many times you are essentially only getting 3-5 interest in a given topic that you push them toward in conversation. And you have to skill them up in like 2-6 different freaking topics for EACH archetype, and work them through many many archetypes... the amount of conversations needed for just one character is STAGGERING. And I say this as someone who likes the grind overall - it's just too much on character archetype progression currently.

I think each skill needs to go up way more than 3 levels (guessing this is on the roadmap) because the game loses a ton of appeal/interest once you start maxing things out and you have to do actions over and over again but no longer gain any XP or topics of useful value from the action anymore. (So stuff like playing video games, watching TV, etc. to recover focus become annoying as fuck, they lose the 'treasure box' aspect / excitement because you no longer expect to get any bonus from it.)

The spycam concept needs work (also guessing this is planned) - you should be able to deploy them in more rooms and they should capture way more scenes, it gets tedious as fuck just uploading the same 2 scenes over and over for a single character. Also that whole system is confusing as fuck, why do videos only persist for 2 days? It seems like a way better system would be you upload to some site and you have X amount of storage, so when you get a BETTER video you might delete an older lower interest one to make room for the new hotter one. Uploading the same shit over and over and it only lasting 2 days is bad design and repetitive / boring.

This would be a big deal but, I also think it would be ideal if you don't stay in your house. Maybe eventually you can get your own place? It's kinda a little too heavily focused on your own family lol. Maybe the MC could go to college and be in the dorms or get an apt at some point...

Is he saying Loser is almost done?! Jesus I hope not... this is an impressive game with some potential if there is still a lot more to go. If he thinks it's like >50-60% of the way there, oh boy... I mean the number of "WIP" tags alone is staggering.

He was talking about the update I think.

man..i cant embrace unhealthy, do massage, and take photos..i have unlocked both skill..and whenever i tried to embrace unhealthy it keeps going back to balance..but all my focus & stamina went down, tried it to do it again untill i receive 0 stamina..LOL..pls tell me this is a bug..i've been grinding for 2 days..

Loser is far from done. The normal development cycle is 2 Month Loser Development --> Loser Update --> 2 Month Superpowered 2 --> Superpowered 2 Update --> and repeat

Problem is that this Loser Cycle he got caught with techdebt, caused by inexperience with Unity - Loser is is first Unity Game.
And one tech change fixes issue and causes new ones. But is determined to get Loser to a state where he can make an Update release, before switching to Superpowered 2 - so currently everything is in Flux.
But the result should be that Loser should be smoother to play. And hopefully with less Bugs.

This is one of my gripes with the game. I hate how you have to like pick one of two diametrically opposed traits and then you cannot do a lot of other things and the 'best' ones all really fuck you over like tanking your stamina, focus, and reputation. This whole aspect needs a lot of work for sure. Also, a lot of the buttons to switch to taking on an aspect/trait are broken... like if you click the unhealthy one or the healthy one it does not turn that box to a different color to indicate you have embraced it.

Regarding the next update, I hope to fuck you aren't saying we wait months and will just get a performance/bug fix update with little to no content added lol...

No, there's plenty of content in the next update.

The main issue with the game is that the early game is too slow. Communication/Concentration/Demonstration all get the gameplay speed up to acceptable levels but they take so long to get.

Ok glad to hear it.

I don't think the early game is too slow, I think it's more of an issue after you start to max skills out and it becomes boring as fuck because the routine shit you have to keep doing stops giving any meaningful rewards or topics. Also, they could make it so you could do more shit from the beginning while you are still leveling up.

The one tune that the majority of the game uses can get a little grating and considering this is Unity, does anyone know of a way to get BepInEx to replace it?

damn i just realized that i have been playing 9.08 from the OP..which i read from this thread its the testbuild version that got leaked..LOL..should i download the 9.02 instead? but it means i got to grind it again :unsure: hmmm.....

That version also has bugs, it is best to wait for the new update,Also in theory the author is going to change several mechanics, so you will almost certainly have to start the game over again.

yeah man, that was the better option indeed, im just gonna wait for it, meanwhile i just cheat the skill unhealthy so i could buy drugs with notepad and works LOL

This game has a bizarre reverse difficulty curve. Everything is much harder to do in early game when there is much less reward (porno scenes). By the time you get into the good content you are usually quite a bit quicker at changing ATs due to exp gains being 3-5x higher and also being much more efficient at farming the required conversation topics.

I brought it up in my review of this game I posted in this thread, and the dev said that was due to your family members being hard content you are supposed to tackle later in the game, and that there would be easier to advance characters outside the home added in later that you can work on first to gain skills/exp for your main character. He was just doing that at-home characters first because the home is where the player spends a lot of time, although I suspect it is actually because incest content is popular among many porn game connoisseurs.

I don't think that is going to happen though, even if that was the initial plan. It has already been several years and there is very little non-family character content. And access to most of them is tied to advancing through family member ATs and they have very harsh schedule limits on when you can interact with them.

I think it'd be much better to make the initial ATs for all characters much quicker to advance through, and maybe add in additional challenges/difficulty for later ATs to get a better and more satisfying easier-to-harder difficulty curve for the game.

Dude I agree with you 1000%. I think the family shit should be... extremely optional so the folks who are into that can uh, have at it. I'm telling you he needs to add a college and you can go there and live in the dorms or an apt nearby, and have a lot of LIs related to that. And/or LIs at your jobs. And instead of developing a million ATs for each character, just have 2 or 3 different personality types that each LI can develop into, and you work through 2-3 ATs on each of those paths instead of being forced to go through a bunch for one character in what ends up being basically a forced linear / kinetic fashion.

That would else make the game have replay value, you would potentially play through a few times if A.) it took 1/3 as much time to fully "clear" a character on a particular path, and B.) you want to experience another path with that character.
