Just trying to start Book 1.
Seems to load normally, then I get to a "desktop" screen where it asks me to put in a User Name and then nothing happens.
I can enter a name but after that, nothing happens....
Also a screenshot of where you are at would help.

He's on the login screen (PC on the flight to Edinburgh).

I'm guessing something pretty fundamental went wrong; a player.log file would help nail it down.

The save folder should be here:
PC: %USERPROFILE%/AppData/LocalLow/Droid Productions/Love of Magic
Mac:
Saves: ~/Library/Application Support/Droid Productions/Love of Magic
Player.log: ~/Library/Logs/Droid Productions/Love of Magic/Player.log
Linux: $XDG_CONFIG_HOME/unity3d/Droid Productions/Love of Magic
SteamDeck: /home/deck/.config/unity3d/Droid Productions/Love of Magic

You maybe to deep with the folders.
Take out the folder that has all the game files and folders and place it on your desktop and then double click on the exe and see what happens.
For me it runs as it should.
Of course that is it. I have given this exact same advice to several people here with a similar problem with other games. My brain must have been fried (or maybe I was just a teeny bit drunk..)
Thanks, all working now.

Damn, I got into this game without knowing that it doesn't have a completed version for android. Now I wish I never started because I can't finish it. Anybody know any workaround for that?

There isn't really one. You can play using Steam Connect, but obviously that requires a PC first (the saves are transferable between PC and Android). I fought hard to keep it under 2GB, including setting up a custom server to download additional content, but paying for hosting for downloading 2.5 (or 8GB+ for book 3) additional data for everyone who downloads the game on Android, while not really making any money of it, is obviously not a great business decision.

Since it also required a completely different way of uploading and building the game, I eventually stopped when just the base application + videos went over the 2GB threshold.

I suspect some sort of remote desktop software (and a real computer) might be your only option. But I'm not especially Android-savvy.

Hi Droid, Great game btw! Just sad I can't continue at the climax.

Thanks for the recomendation.
Anybody know if using a Windows emulator would work? If so any recommended emulators thats safe?

If your OS can't handle files > 2GB, it still won't be able to do so while running an emulator.
Oh? I thought using an emulator would allow me to download and run the windows version on my android, hence not being affected by the 2gb apk file limit? Then again, I'm na newb at these things.

so i seem to have found a gamebreaking bug. book 3, when youre supposed to go to the unseelie court for the first time, you get the seen with aofie on her horse on monday evening, then it just kicks you to the elsewhere map screen and your unable to go anywhere or do anything. this bug persists through save files and even going back a few days and playing through it again, as it is, unless im missing something. its impossible to progress further into the game.
I think I ran into something similar. IIRC I was able to travel to the Unseelie court somehow and she was there.

Edit: No, sorry. Now that I think about it more. She didn't meet me on the map at all so, I went on without meeting her and she was there. Similar but different I guess...

Finished book 1, what an awesome ride!
But I missed a fair bit of content/skills etc. because I played it without spoilers/guides
(For example I didn't get to the quartermaster till day 100 or so beause his icon was hidden behind an other icon and I just didn't see it till then. Didn't realise I could study/read in the library for Int. points till very late etc.
How important is it to have a "good" final save for book 2?
Is it worth replaying book 1 to get a better endpoint or does it hardly matter?

Coin flip. I say press on for now but, if you're like me, you're gonna replay all three books many times - it's just that good!
