The sequence 'to go to work' revolves around going to the kitchen first thing after waking up and talk to Rachel - then you auto have a shower and eat breakfast with Rachel and Krysten. Then you go to your bedroom and have the option to dress for work - then go back to the Living Room and you will see the options of Watch TV or Work.
It is annoying that if you do the repeat "visit Michelle" then you stay overnight, you wake up and see Michelle in her kitchen, and then you auto go home - and it says 'morning' but Rachel is not in the kitchen and you cannot (well I haven't found a way) then get to work that day.
The engrish of this game is annoying, the story makes very little sense and the time management aspects of the game add a grind to the game when there was none before. So much potential is lost from questionable design choices. This game just isn't well designed even though the renders are great it doesn't make up for poor game design and poor animations.

Yeah and on his discord they claim that apparently it's a fad to criticize those, when in reality the fad is changing perfectly fine working visual novels to buggy and boring sandbox crapfeast.
Honestly guys, you should visit Evil Users discord. The people there are all just sycophants who won't voice criticism.
I don't think that the opinions there do in any way reflect the reaction to the changes, the reaction here is way more accurate.

Darn. I really loved this game how it was but i really don't understand why people think that sandbox would make a game like this better. For some it works if they start their game as sandbox but most fail miserable because you have to click a ton of locations to find the spot where it continues. For me that interrupts the complete storytelling in almost every game.
I mean i get that dev's want to stretch content to make a bit more money, its common practice in most games, but you have to do it right to keep it interesting and thats what most just can't do because they are not able to pump out enough content to keep people entertained.
I think i shouldn't join the discord, i'm not a paying "customer" i just state my oppinion on here. In the end the only thing that matters is that the people who pay like it.

I don't really think that is the case. In the end, if someone develops a game, he wants people to play and enjoy it.
Most devs have just a few hundreds patreons, if you were a dev, would that satisfy you?
And even on discord, only a few of the patreons and others will actively post, that means it's usually people who want to steer a game in a specific direction or just praise the dev too much, as if he can do nothing wrong.
Besides Evil User invited us especially to voice our opinions, just a few posts back.

Well it doesn't go for all dev's that they just want people to enjoy their game. There are enough that are only after a quick $, you can find enough of them here in this very forum. That doesn't mean i think that Evil User is one of them because for that Lukes Way was just to good.
I can only talk for me but no i wouldn't really care how many patreons i would have because i would want a game that is fun to play for me and most other people. I write most because you can't make it right for everyone. Sure extra money is nice, i won't deny that, but that would not be my maingoal because otherwhise i would try to set foot into the non pornographic part of the gaming industry. That all said, i won't develop shit because i don't have any clue how to do it.

I just found this game and absolutely love it! I am a sandbox kind of guy, I now realize. I need buildup, anticipation and that sense of immersion that comes from grinding out your daily life.... it all helps me with feeling more involved vs watching.
Don't get me wrong, a great VN can do the same thing without all the "sleight of hand" the sandbox format provides, but not everyone starts out a PTOLEMY or Lust & Passion and not everyone LIKES that kind of delayed gratification that comes with slowing a story down in a VN (wearing out mouse's clicking through dialog), carefully building a narative, getting to know the characters... and THEN watching 'em smash.... hehe. The vast majority just need a few lines to tie hot picks together and they are off to the races, so to speak. Not judging, just different..."strokes", pun really not intended.
It boil's down to; I like to WORK for that pussy... EARN it... and many times the sandbox helps give me that feeling. Except when I just what to break-one off real quick-like, and then, well... but I digress...
Now, if you loved this game BEFORE it swapped over to a sandbox, then yeah, I can TOTALLY see the reason for all the grief; like if the second half of Space Mountain somehow put you on that damned Autopia at Disneyland; sure it can be a fun ride, but you didn't CHOOSE those guys when you got on, it's all slow and and now you even have to drive too? WTF?!
I really do like the game, premise and even the new mechanic. I even sponsored, knowing full well I am getting charged again in like 2 days.
And I just REEEAAAALLLLY wanna tear-up the mom.... and the sister too... hehe

I've tried to put something of what annoys me with most sandbox games into a post and yeah i'll also do that mostly civilized because you try to develop a game here and i didn't see you writing something disrespectful either. So i say thank you and you are welcome.
Thanks for your offer, i'll probably will join your discord tomorrow and maybe one or two ideas might come to mind sooner or later.

As I've said many times, Luke's Way will never turn into a grindy game where you have to do the same thing over and over. Maybe you will have to do a few different things but never doing the same thing for a couple of times. That gives me an idea, maybe I should add a counter of how many times you fucked certain characters so you can brag about that here

Honestly, to all who read/played the small update V8 content that started playing in a style that's sort of "sandbox style", Thats not really much to base some sort of an opinion on, considering how little you were able to see of it to base a solid judgement and considering what else is to come as far as the story goes, I have no clue how people think they can base complaining on a literal 15 minutes of dialog with one character... People say its a "grind" i saw no grind, as some are with gaining favor/corruption with several novel/games, it still looks just like the same story to me, just that now instead of going through a direct line, "players" Readers will now get to chose what part of the story they want to forward rather its like the office stories, or a story-line that takes place somewhere else on the map, it makes the story more of a pick and chose...
Amazing how people base "I DON'T LIKE THIS" off a single update when you havent even experienced enough of the story/gamepal to REALLY make a decision, since the STORY isnt even finished and the new story telling style just changed in a single small up date, yet it's I HATE THIS...
Just my opinion... Wait and see if you hate it or dont like it when there is enough content added to REALLY judge the new game style...
