Is it possible to change the Main Character's name, and if so, would anyone be able to tell me how to do so? I've tried fiddling with the name text, but that doesn't seem to work for me. (Sorry if the answer I'm looking for has already been said and I just didn't look hard enough for it)

No, you can't, only if you start a new game. Name change is only available in ToN.

You need to press four buttons. Two of them are in the West wing, opposite Katherine's room behind the dresser. Two more in the East wing, also behind the dresser

Yes. Download the full version. (I don't have compressed files.)

Press the right button, select Phone, and then select Save Game from the phone menu.
I think there is a tutorial at the beginning of the game, and it tells you how to save the game.
