They're actually using ogg vorbis, which is very good for voices, but they use 44kHz, could have reduced it to 22 kHz without anyone noticing. Bitrate is 80 kbps.Plus there is voice acting. I didn't look at the format, but if it is stereo 48 kHz then it's also an overkill for speech.
Not optimal, but tolerable.
