Yeah but it's not like there is a reason to side with the Witch (Not like she's a hot dude) unless it turns out Khalgor is locked behind her route, but doesn't seem like it.

There's just no substance, the story just has no direction anymore, every update is a continuation of a different part instead of concluding 1 (It's got to the point I don't actually know what the story is)
The fact is people don't care. As long as they can indulge in their favourite Husbands, they don't care how the game goes.
You rarely see this discussion been brought up. The same goes for art consistency and game mechanics.

BUT as the game developer Hyao should care, if his plan is to create a complete game,
rather than "Monthly Dose of LD Porn".

does anyone know how exactly Nameless works? does it write to registry like undertale?
There's a persistent save file that stores the choices in there but there isn't really an editor that I've found. If you delete it he forgets your choices I think but it may affect a whole bunch of other things if you do that.

In Renpy (which is what the game is programmed on) there's two types of flags: flags and persistent flags. Regular flags are limited to the game you're playing and will be reset if you reload a save. Persistent flags can only be undone if the game is reset (assuming the programming is there) or, in some cases, if the ENTIRE game data is reset (such as deleting the persistent file on your PC, both in the local and appdata folder for Lustful Desires). The latter is how achievements and changes to the title screen, like in Nekojishi, can be triggered.

Unlike flags, persistent flags are harder to alter and can potentially corrupt game data if altered in a way which clashes with later coding (for example: if you have a plot where someone is killed and you intend for that person to be dead forever in all future playthroughs, and have a change to plot which reflects this, having the flag for their death disabled when it needs to trigger will cause an error and can result in a crash, hard locking the game).

It's somewhat cruel to use in a porn game, given they're normally seen in horror games (Doki Doki had a number of these, like locking you in the void with Monika).

Ain't Hyao mentioned it was only experimental and will be changed back to regular flags?

I don't think it's intrinsically bad if it serves a game-play purpose, rather than for punishing players.
Like some game will lock your choices to emphases "every choice matters" so every run is different, but those games are focused around "replay", reasonably short and doesn't require "Grind";
Rougelite games are also popular with this concept.
LD is not that kind of game, and it's definitely a bad implementation here, Especially consider it's WIP.

I don't really know if he has, I'm not up to date with the news from him, but if it was just reset to normal flags then it'd at least give players an easier time. I just feel, given people are mostly here for porn, telling someone (as an example) "oh, you picked this, now 90 updates later half your friends are dead" feels like a bit of a slap in the face. Sure, the game has the death of friends, it has bad ends, but it's all 99% avoidable so far (with one obvious example). The finality of it feels a bit too tonally heavy, a sword of Damocles dangling overhead to skewer some character we ended up growing attached to.

I mean, I have nothing wrong with persistent flags, I've toyed with the idea before (I had a time loop RPG idea at one point which used several). But yeah, definitely not ideal for a horny game which is far from complete.

Normally for this type of game, you can just Make a Save before the Choice, then you can see both side of said choice using the same playthrough (Self-make branching), instead of startin' over thru the grinding slog.

What Hyao did for Nameless + persistent flag makes no sense rather than punishin' player for no reason.
I'm surprised he hasn't revised it.

Now, I don't disagree with this, it is kind of too punishing to have one of the choices be permanent without any (explicit) warning, and I don't really remember if this has been changed at all. But during the first playthrough it is a really cool feature, and it fulfills the purpose of freaking the player out, since Nameless is supposed to be rather menacing and scary (the first time it showed the red eyes in the darkness, it was legitimately unnerving). So I'm kind of conflicted, because, as a player playing through a porn game, it is kind of annoying, but it also works for the story the dev is trying to tell.

Anyway, I do kind of wonder how important the choice will be in the long run. Iirc, during the meeting with Nameless when you're camping with Groth, the player can change their alignment as long as they didn't pick one of the extreme choices the first time. So there could be more opportunities to wiggle out of the consequences in the future, too.

It also doesn't have to end with a bunch of characters dying permanently. I think that, at most, the extreme choice to kill Nameless will lead to someone dying, but hopefully there will be an opportunity to influence it when the time comes. It would kind of suck if it was completely set in stone, as my current theories are that Bernard is Nameless and Rose is the Witch (I actually have a bunch of characters in mind but these would have the most impact when revealed), and losing them would be pretty huge.

loved this one, but i'm having trouble finding any similar to it. I find that games with this art style tend to be gay centered :') (sometime you just wanna play a female dominator :KEK:) anyone know of any games with more muscular male character designs?
In tailor tales you can be a dom female protagonist. Speakeasy have muscular guys.

It shouldn't be hard, he's full of holes ;)
There could also be magic / ghost dicks if you want to bottom.
(I might or might've not tried to seduce them back when they didn't even hv sprites)

IIRC in CoC there's a skeleton knight you can mess around, but mostly only cucked by a goddess or sth.

So, I don't really want to kink shame anyone here, but I do not find the lizard people appealing at all. Like the stuff with Groushk is sweet and romantic, but then you get to a sex scene with him and an option you have is to "fuck his slit." Now, I know people have different opinions and views and things they are attracted to, but really if I wanted to fuck a slit, I would go straight and just fuck a vagina.

I am neither a programmer nor artist, but how feasible would it be for someone to take out all of the lizard people artwork and replace it with maybe AI art created to resemble something more like draconic bloodline sorcerers from Baldur's Gate 3, where they have some scales sporadically about their body and maybe some on their face, but other than that look completely human?

I ask because I mostly like this game and it's story, but the lizard tribe stuff is essential to more than one plot in the game so you can't outright skip it the way you can for Arion, who I also don't really find appealing. I am not really the target audience for half the content in this game since I am not a furry or scaly (no judgment of people who are), and I love the art style, I just wish more of the art subjects could be more human

Everyone's got an odd ball kink, I also kind of thought it was weird. Most actual reptiles have a hemipenis so maybe there going for a bit of realism?
